I cannot say enough about this amazing resort. From the time we stepped off the seaplane we were treated like royalty. We met with our personal concierge Yasir who gave us an introduction to the resort as well as making sure we were able to connect via an app on our phone. He had prearranged reservations for us at various restaurants throughout the resort. Yasir was always just a text message away and did absolutely everything to make our stay unforgettable. I will always be appreciative to him for the care and attention he provided. The staff in general is very helpful and accommodating. They really go out of their way to remember your preferences, such as still water or sparkling, where you like to sit in the various restaurants even down to your drink preference. They ask your name and really make an effort to get to know you. It is these personal touches that make this resort unforgettable. We really enjoyed chatting with Viaam at the Sands restaurant. He always greeted us with a smile. We had the all inclusive package and I can’t imagine doing it without that package, it would be cost prohibitive for us. We went in August during the rainy season, but there was very little rain and it was sunny every day. One of the most amazing experiences was dining at the underwater restaurant. H2O. This was the main reason we chose this resort to begin with, and I can assure you that it was a very wise decision. Our waiter/sommelier Indika had wonderful wine pairings for us. They even arranged a special birthday surprise for me, which brought me to tears. There were many tears on this vacation as I had dreamed about it for 30 years and finally made it happen. I cried in the sea plane at the beauty of this resort and could barely talk when we got off the plane. 🤣. I cried at the underwater restaurant and then when we left. My husband thought I was nuts. Some recommendations that I would give would be the following: 1. The all inclusive package did not include any in room dining food options. There were a couple of times where we missed breakfast and there was a lapse until lunchtime and we didn’t have any food options. We could’ve ordered room service and paid for it, but it felt unnecessary since we were already spending so much on the all inclusive package. So would’ve been nice to have an option for food in the room. 2. I did not realize that with the seaplane transfer, the timing depends on other guests who are also going to the resort. It’s a 45 minute sea plane ride and we had just come off a very long flight to begin with so when we arrived in Male we had to wait almost 2 hours to even get on the seaplane. Did not realize there would be this much of a wait. 3. We booked two excursions but they all require a six person minimum and both excursions got canceled because there weren’t enough people. Despite this, we had an amazing time and would not hesitate to encourage people to visit here I will never forget this vacation and the people who made it so special. Yasir gave us personalized attention and was so welcoming and heartfelt. A humble soul which we are so grateful for. The moment we landed at Velena Airport in Male for our second visit to ‘You & Me’ in the Maldives we were greeted by Cocoon staff who handled our luggage and escorted us to the Cocoon Lounge for refreshments while we awaited our seaplane transfer. We were arriving for our second visit to ‘You & Me, but our fourth stay with the Cocoon brand. We were escorted to the jetty to board our seaplane by Trans Maldivian Airways staff, for a short 40min transfer to the island, the fantastic views of all the atolls were incredible from above. On approach to the island, we could see the staff on the jetty waiting to welcome us. We had a traditional Maldivian welcome by the Boduberu drums played by some of the staff, given woven leaf & flower crowns and handed cold towels to refresh and immediately taken to reception. At this point I must mention Faalih, Ibbe & our resort host for the next week, Shana. We were so grateful and overwhelmed to be informed that we had been upgraded to a Dolphin Villa. We were seated, offered prosecco or a soft drink and Shana took care of the formalities while we sipped our welcome drink. Shana shared her WhatsApp contact details, she was our primary point of contact for the next week. So, as is usual in other hotels, we didn't have to waste time queuing at reception after such a long journey. We were driven to our villa by Shana on an electric buggy and shown around, given welcome information regarding restaurant and bar opening times etc. We settled into life on the island and headed out to re-discover. We ended up at Cheers and was greeted by SK (bar captain), he immediately recognised us and remembered our drinks preference even though it was a year since our last visit………impressive! Over our week stay we were well looked after by all the bar staff, particularly Ramesh and Alan. The food in The Sand and Green Carpet never disappointed, it was just perfect and very delicious, with something for every taste on the menus. All dishes were served on beautiful crockery, and you could order from the menu as many starters as you wanted and as many main courses as you wanted. For breakfast there was a fruit station, which was manned by Dilshan, where you could have the tastiest fruit cut into bite-sized pieces, always served with a warm greeting and a big smile. From dragon fruit, passion fruit to mango and melon, we were also introduced to Rambutan and Mangosteen which we had never tried before. The service from the staff in the restaurants was above and beyond what was required, nothing was too much trouble for Manoj, Viamm, Mustho, Angel and Wasana (if I’ve missed anyone out, it’s not intentional). There are two speciality restaurants ‘Rising Sun’ (Teppanyaki) and ‘La Pasta’ (Italian). We dined at both and were entertained by Ian’s teppanyaki performance and Saleem looked after our every need. Our room was expertly taken care of twice a day by Zahir, towels changed, everything refreshed and topped up and turned down while we were at dinner. All the hardworking staff, from the gardeners taking care of the island, the kitchen preparation staff, who we never got to see and the maintenance team who do an amazing job behind the scenes, were vey much appreciated by us. The front of house team are always around and we had many interactions with Faalih, who always welcomed our feedback and comments, and certainly none of them negative, but so nice to get a chance to give our impression of our experience. The island itself is just a dream, you can walk around it in 10 minutes by the turquoise water, which is extremely beautiful for swimming and snorkelling and this beautiful powder white sand invites you to try many activities. Once a day you can go kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding, which is complementary. Fruit bats, lizards and hermit crabs were all spotted daily, not to mention reef sharks and plenty of fish. Thank you to all who decorated our dinner table on arrival and departure, decorated our bed and made our stay such a wonderful experience. It’s the small things that make a big impression on our hearts. We have previously stayed at Cocoon and Joy and would have no hesitation at recommending Cocoon brand for a wonderful stay, it just depends on your preferences as to which island you feel more at home at. An excellent hotel in terms of price and quality! We spent 9 days there during our honeymoon. We liked everything very much. It's a little piece of paradise. The nature is incredible. If you are coming for a honeymoon, make sure to take photos. There are several options to choose from. Choose the one that costs $550. The food was very tasty. A huge variety of fish, especially tuna. I also wanted to try beef. It was amazing and the quality was excellent. I really liked the H20 restaurant. We also recommend that you visit it. We tried scuba diving and saw live turtles and manta rays in the ocean. Free Wi-Fi was available almost everywhere on the island with good speed. There were two a la carte restaurants to choose from: Italian and Japanese. Both were excellent. I liked Italian better because the portions were bigger.The main restaurant operates according to the ala carte system, sometimes in combination with a buffet. One disadvantage is that the main restaurant serves small portions of dishes. If you want to taste cold smoked salmon, you will need to order several servings to get enough. However, no one forbids you to order 10 servings! It is worth noting the good service, there are just wonderful waiters who delight, but there are also those who seem to ignore you. Prices for services are also high, but this is normal for all Maldives. Thanks to our guide Yasir for accompanying us throughout our stay and booking a table at Italian and Japanese restaurants. He also helped us with booking a photo shoot. We recommend this hotel to visit, especially if you are on your honeymoon.
