Perfect hotel for a family holiday

Perfect family holiday We had a great half term holiday with children and grandchildren Lovely hotel with a great choice of food and drinks (Premium drinks) More than enough activities to keep the grandchildren occupied throughout the day and the evening entertainment was the best we have ever experienced in a hotel. We would definitely love to come back 😊

Wonderful luxury family hotel

Wonderful hotel, staff are amazing. Food is amongst the best we have had from 5 star hotels, but don't expect an English breakfast. Food allergies are well catered for. We were told if we wanted a gluten free menu we could request what we liked and it would be catered for, but we found enough food to be able to select gluten free without making requests. Slides are good, evening entertainment is excellent. Beach and pier just a 2 minute walk from hotel with plenty of watersports to choose from. You can also swim from the pier back to the beach Only downside which has been mentioned many times is the dated rooms. There isn't much outside the hotel without taking a bus or taxi but this didn't bother us as there was plenty to do around the hotel. Overall we would visit again

Excellent family holiday hotel

Fantastic hotel and holiday. Cannot recommend more highly. Food excellent, great variety and local dishes, drinks very good. Staff exceptionally polite, couteous and efficient. Entertainment remarkably high standard, eg salsa dancing evening and Halloween with thriller dancing etc. Grounds beautifully landscaped, clean, tidy, lovely place to be. Pier out to sea with bar at the end. Beach bar for lunch. We went at end of season, plenty of space and minimal queues. Kids loved football and air rifle shooting, karaoke 2 nights a week in irish bar enjoyed by all. 10 of us ages 9 to 83 on family holiday had a wonderful time. Highly recommended.

Family holiday that was a bit disappointing

Was looking forward to this holiday for some time based on the reviews. Agree the decor is outdated and ended up with a bruised thigh when a parasol went flying in the wind because they don’t fit into the bases properly. It could really do with updating to be able to claim its 5*. There was a wide selection of food for adults if you like meat but we did not manage to have 1 hot meal while out there even when we waited for 30 mins for a chicken wrap and chips to come from the snack bar this was freezing cold. The kids food was a bit samey boiled veal, boiled chicken etc my kids ended up eating either pasta or chips for dinner all week. The biggest disappointment for us was the kids club, we picked this hotel over any of the others for what was supposed to be an outstanding kids club. It was fine for my 7 year old although he was getting bored with some of the activities, but was able to pick and choose. The issue was for my 9 year old they had no older activities on while we was out there due to not enough teenagers, and everything else was for age 16 and over except he could join in with the football. So unfortunately he was bored a lot of the week wanting things to do. Seemed if you was between 7-16 there was nothing to do. I would have thought some activities would have been done for a smaller group as we did speak to and see quite a few 9-11 year old children. The hotel also had 3 conferences going on while we was out there for a week so probably contributed to not as many tourists, and felt a bit lacking in staff aswell ie having to wait for drinks rather then being able to help yourself at dinner meant a lot of the time we had eaten most our dinner before we got a drink. It’s a shame as has a lot of potential to be a nice little hotel but it’s not somewhere I would go back again without guarantees that there is activities for all kids ages.

DISAPPOINTED Definitely not 5 star!!

The hotel was acerage. I definitely wouldnt say it was 5 star! Rooms are dated. The quilt/blanket barely fitted the bed which was annoying. The food was NEVER hot, luke warm was the way it was no matter what time you went. The main restaurant wasn't that busy but there was no noodles or fresh veg ready to go with the prawns. I asked the chef could he get more and his reply was...I'll make more noodles in 5 minutes and then I'll make the vegetables! For a 5 star hotel, this was unacceptable! I dont often eat meat and there's very little 'veggi' choice unless you want to eat salads every night or soggy veg in a tomato based sauce! FLIES.....omg where do I begin with the flies!? Flies are on the buffet food, on the tables, cover you when you're at the pool...FLIES ARE EVERYWHERE! People including us were constantly swiping our hands whilst sunbathing, eating etc There's absolutely no getting away from them! There was lots of damaged sun umbrellas by the pool, the loungers needed a good scrub, some were so dirty. The staff were friendly and the rooms and surrounding areas were kept nice. There was 2 huge conferences on while we stayed at the hotel. Loads more people other than holiday makers. Lots of drunk loud 'businessmen' in the evening smoking in the bar areas......not pleasent. Been to lots of 5 star hotels, this hotel did not meet expectations unfortunately and we wont be back.
