Had a fabulous time. Went for 2 wks and enjoyed it. Only thing letting it down was the pool wasn’t heated and the indoor pool wasn’t open. Food is like everywhere it seems the same but catering for a lot of people means you have to reuse left overs like u do at home. A holiday is what you make it, I’ve been to better hotels but to be honest we really had fun here. There is rude staff and people in any hotel and I take it with a pinch of salt. On the hotel site on Facebook reading some of the comments can be off putting but make your own mind up. One man stated you must be chavy if you like it and believe me I’m far from chavy. My friend and her daughter came in the 2nd wk and we all had a great time. The shop is a rip off.

Money down the drain, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

We are into our second week of a two week holiday and can’t wait to leave. On the face of it the hotel looks amazing, well decorated and appears to be clean, you soon realise it’s not! We are staying in a standard room which is fine as long as you can overlook certain things, balcony door won’t lock, key card kept unpairing itself, so a trip down to reception needed (not the best with 3 kids at 12am). I know the hotel can't control other guests but the rudeness and lack of consideration for others is appalling, the worst seemed to be Turkish, closely followed by Russian and Polish, this should not be taken as racist as I’m just stating the facts, they have no idea how to queue for anything, food, lifts, drinks, stairs, the level of inconsideration is mind blowing. The food is ok, good choice but very repetitive same thing day in and day out. Cutlery, plates, glasses are not washed properly. Smoking is allowed pretty much everywhere even where it's not! This is not policed by the hotel at all, lobby corridors even in lifts. We sat outside in the non smoking area, denoted by the absence of ashtrays and while eating someone sits next to you and lights up. I did have words but people just look at you and wave their hands as if you're in the wrong, again it's the same rude people who are the biggest offenders. The amount of food waste some guests left was unbelievable, plates of food hardly touched and then left to be thrown out. I personally witnessed male staff hitting on young girls 12/13 years old, so if you're taking young girls then please keep an eye on them. My 3 kids 12, 14, 15 were bored stiff most of the time, the pools are freezing so there’s not much enjoyment in getting in, and once you have done the slide a few times, you soon get bored. There are no provisions for teenagers at all. The internet is £10 a week per phone and there's 6 of us so £120 I didn't expect to spend. With not much else to do it was a lifeline for us. (Not very good either) The lobby has a decent coffee/shake bar which the kids looked forward to. Plenty of bars around the complex so you'll never run short of drinks/beers. The hotel does have evening entertainment and if you enjoy terrible dancing and school play level of entertainment then there's always that to look forward to. My mother-in-law also had cockroaches in her room 6/7 in total they only stayed 12 days before going home. Don’t waste your money booking this hotel!

Nice hotel but not 5 star

We went to this hotel in October for a week. The hotel is very big and the rooms were nice and cleaned well every day. The pool area was lovely and the pools very clean. The waterslides were good and the lifeguards very nice. I didn't rate the food to be honest. It was pretty much the same every night and was certainly not 5 star food. The restaurants were busy. We went down for breakfast about 9am and for dinner about 8pm. It was always hard to find a table that was made up ready for you to sit at. It was also hard to find knives and forks! They could of had more staff working to clear the tables quicker. The entertainment in the evening didn't start until 10pm. So there was quite a wait between finishing dinner and going to watch that. The hotel reception is massive with lots of seating areas so we used to sit in reception until the entertainment started. The Turkish baths in the spa were nice but there were quite a few broken tiles in there which again in my opinion doesn't make it 5 star. My family went and had some massages which were fairly priced. There is a bridge from the hotel, over a busy dual carriageway to the water park and other restaurants. They do have music playing on the terraces every day so you don't hear the traffic! There is a mall you can walk to which is about 15 minutes away where you can go and buy the fake clothes! I would advise getting a private transfer from the airport to the hotel as the journey is about 1.5hours. I've seen some reviews that say the hotel was terrible but we didn't think this. I would of given it 3.5-4 stars.

fantastic hotel

we stayed at the vikingen in mid October for 11 days. We got interconnecting room as me the wife and 3 girls which was spotless. This is a massive hotel plenty of choice for meals and snacks. thew shop at hotel was expensive however if you walk 10 minutes each way from hotel you will get cheap crips and snack which we bought for the plane home.. entertainment: the entertainment was great different every night. the only thing it does not start till 21:00 local time but apart from that was great. Drinks: the drink for adults are very very strong and nice all different kinds of cocktails and mock cocktails for the kids. . Pools: there are many pools at this hotel so plenty to choose from waterslides were excellent nice beach area just down from the snack bar area. Sea is warmer than the pools but was nice to have a cold dip. The water polo was good as well. I don't know why there is bad reviews on here as this hotel has everything you need yes It was busy at meal times but once you can navigate it it's totally fine. Staff: the staff at the hotel were very polite. i find i your polite to them they always make you feel welcome and always looking to help people. We have enjoyed our holiday that much we have booked it again for next October and can't wait till we go back. I wish to Thank you Vikingen and all the staff for a lovely holiday see you next year.

If you have decent manners, young daughters and want good entertainment don’t come here. The guests and staff here are the rudest people I’ve ever ran into; and some of the men here don’t care how old you are and will stare at , follow, kiss and talk to girls under 18. The food here is so mediocre and is half of the time, cold! They serve the same food all day and the staff treat young, pretty girls and Turks so much better than everyone else. The asian people here are the rudest , they don’t care who you are they will push and shove you even if you’re a toddler just to get a slice of pizza! The maids slack their jobs and sometimes won’t give you water, just make your bed or will miss out cleaning your room entirely. There is so much more I could say about this hotel but I don’t have the time or energy. But if you decide to stay here even after reading this, you will regret it. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again.
