It's been 30 years since we were last on Harbour Island. At that time we stayed at a different property and we had dinner a couple of times at Ma Ruby's which we always remembered as a great experience. So this visit we decided to stay at Tingum Village with Ma Ruby's daughter, Juanita. This is a great mid-range property with a number of room options. Our first week we rented a 3 bedroom "cottage" as our daughter and her family joined us. The second week we moved to what I think is called a "deluxe suite" as it was just my wife and I. While not on the beach, you're also not paying those exorbitant beach front prices. We rented a golf cart a few times but you can easily walk virtually anywhere on the island. We spent our daily beach time renting chairs from "Ms V's" which was about a 14 minute walk from Tingum Village. We had a daily continental breakfast of usually a bagel, or toast, or johnny cake and fruit, or order off the menu. Dinners at Ma Ruby's were great and the Native Grouper was exceptional. There are certainly other very good dining options on the island. Juanita and her staff were very friendly and attentive and took very good care of us. The rooms may need of bit of updating but other than low water pressure which seems to be an island wide issue, we were more than satisfied with our accommodations.
