Bit disappointing.

30 Sep 2024
Some elements are 5*, some are more 3*. The food varies greatly. Some of the lunches at the Beach Club were so poor we couldn’t eat them (for example the pizza, the salmon penne, the cheese burger) and we went hungry. There are a lot of fairly basic food menu options that are not included in the all inclusive package, for example calamari. Hardly a high end dish! Drinks on the other hand are not very restricted and there are many choices of good brands of spirits. There are 3 hours of the afternoon where the food outlet included in the all inclusive are closed and you have to buy food at not insignificant prices. Very little activity happens for free. It’s $50 for a cocktail making class. Every water sport bar the kayaks is chargeable, and not cheap. There are essentially 2 restaurants and beach bar that serves lunch. The Italian and the Chinese share the same building. They are all basic but okay inside. The food is ok, but it won’t wow anyone. The Dining Room is where the buffet lunch is served, and it’s a La carte at night with mixed cuisines. The rooms are lovely. We had an over water sunset villa. It’s spacious and nicely appointed. The outdoor shower has no view of anything and neither does the bathtub, so we used neither of them. Pointless really. The staff are really lovely and very welcoming and in the main, brilliant at their jobs. There’s nothing to do at night other than visit the 2 restaurants or the beach bar. You can visit the French restaurant at the sister island. That was ok. My wife enjoyed her meal, Gnocchi. I had char-grilled pork and didn’t enjoy it at all, as it was served with a super sweet side dish that just didn’t work. Having visited other similarly priced all inclusive resorts, I’d say it’s middle tier. There are much better options, certainly at the prices they charge. It’s okay., but once you leave your villa it doesn’t feel at all luxurious.

Paradise perfected!!

31 Aug 2024
A first class service from start to finish. We have visited the maldives on 4 occasions in the past, with and without children (now teenagers) and this resort appears to have perfectly embraced all of the criteria and maximised the potential. A naturally stunning location, located a 1 hour internal flight down from Male international airport. From the arrivals lounge in Male to being taken to the resort in their own speedboat, every element has been considered and executed to perfection. The 24hr door to door journey from the uk is quickly forgotten and all your travel anxieties are relieved when you check in to your villa and you realise just how special this resort is. We booked a 2 bed water villa with pool having 2 x teenagers (15 & 13). Spacious, spotless and every consideration given from toiletries, mini bar, fruits, Champagne, robes amongst many other items. The beds were huge and all elements maximised the stunning views from every ocean facing window. Our villa, 332 faced nothing but the Ocean and would be described as the best room on the Island. Our room was expertly tended by Azzul and Francis and their daily interactions were non obtrusive, highly professional and very genuine as they are there to ensure that you have the best experience possible. The island is joined to it’s sister Island Dhigurah by a 1km bridge and you are able to share all of the restaurants and amenities from both resorts and we had opted for the all inclusive package. Every single meal throughout the stay was excellent with a huge choice of variety and rotation. The catering team are extremely proud of their work and the satisfaction of their guests is paramount. It’s extremely rare to not be able to find fault with the catering, especially on a 2 week stay but this resort has it down to a fine art. Lunches and evening meals were no different and the quality was excellent. The head chef would visit tables and discuss his food with guests, offering recipes / adaptations to taste etc and they welcomed any indications on how they could improve which was the hardest part and we feel that it was perfected already. The restaurant staff lead by Hafiz, including Junaeid and his team looked after us from start to finish and provided a brilliant service at every meal time. As a family of divers we were not left disappointed and the resort has a superb dive team with a great attitude and friendly approach. A special thanks to Aneem and Taroush for helping my son complete his Padi advanced and his Nitrox course in a totally relaxed and enjoyable way. This island is blessed with an abundance of green turtles which are visible on every single dive. We encountered a Manta (rare in these parts), leopard, nurse, white tip, black tip and guitar sharks. Most of the boat trips had the added bonus of spinner dolphins joining the boat and the marine life, especially hard corals was better than anything I have seen before in the Maldives. It was more akin to Sun Island 20 years ago before the reefs were badly affected by bleaching, simply stunning! The house reef for snorkelling is safe and accessible with a lifeguard on duty for those who are less confident in the water and the team are happy to advise and assist wherever possible. My daughter made her very very first dive on the holiday and is now on her journey to becoming a qualified diver. If you are considering a Maldives holiday it can be very difficult to navigate the reviews and opinions on-line and getting it right across all elements can be extremely challenging. Rest assured this is a beautiful resort run by an excellent team of genuinely the nicest people I have ever come across and you would not come away disappointed. This resort doesn’t simply rely on the location, it takes customer service to a new level and enhances every element. Paradise perfected!

Perfect and dream stay !

31 Aug 2024
I stayed at The Residence at Dhigurah August. I really enjoyed my stay, the Resort is beautiful and has many facilities and activities on site. Our over water pool villa was gorgeous, with a direct view and access to the ocean. A dream ! The food is very delicious, there is a buffet and also other restaurants with one offering French specialities, one Italian dishes and one Chinese food. Very good and perfect service ! You can try water activities and snorkeling and the Resorts offers tours like dolphin tour… Water is so turquoise ! The Resort is linked by a wood bridge to another Resort, The Residence which also has many facilities. You have an access for both. Each Villa has bikes which is very useful to movie in the two islands. Spa by Clarins is stunning, with treatment rooms above the water. My therapist was exceptional and allowed me to me remove the stress and tensions. You can join the Resort from Male by a domestic flight. The properties can help to book the flight if needed, it was super easy and well organized ! If you are looking for a great Resort in Maldives, I duly recommend this one ! Thanks again to all the team for their welcome and kindness during our stay !

Best hotel in Maldives!

30 Apr 2024
Myself and my husband had our wedding ceremony here and it could not have been more perfect. Hafiz made sure that every detail was perfect. From the ceremony, to each day of the trip. The food was outstanding, the private dinner and French restaurant were some of our favourites. We snorkelled with turtles, took a dolphin excursion and also tried the jet ski. We also went to the local island for a trip. The entire visit surpassed every expectation I had. Thank you for the best holiday! We have since stayed at other Maldives resorts, some more expensive than The Residence and none have been as perfect. The way that you have access to both resorts and restaurants really does add to this place and it’s magic. Not to mention the bridge which we loved to cycle over.

Cold cocktails in the infinity pool!

30 Sep 2024
Chandu made us drinks at the Beach Club at Dhigurah and they were beautiful! Such a lovely time in the infinity pool. And we had it to ourselves in the off peak! What a place! His drinks were cold and delicious and were a highlight of the trip. We’ll be back!
