I spent ten nights at The Residence, Dhigurah in January with my little family of four—and it was a truly memorable holiday. This was our second trip to the Maldives but our first stay at this hotel, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we landed in Male, the service was exceptional. A friendly representative met us at the airport and ensured a smooth transition to our domestic flight. At Koodoo airport, the speedboat journey to the hotel was delightful, especially with Lawrence, our ever-cheerful host, greeting us with a smile. Check-in was quick and efficient, and our host, Oksana, escorted us by buggy to our room. We appreciated the detailed information provided, including a tour of the island that pointed out essential spots like the dining room and other facilities. Our Sunrise Villa was beautifully arranged—spacious, spotless, and perfectly suited to our needs. Although we encountered a few minor issues, they were resolved immediately and so efficiently that they barely left a mark on our experience. Daily treats delivered at sunset and a well-stocked minibar added thoughtful touches throughout our stay. Resort information was readily available on the TV, ensuring we were always in the loop. As Muslims, we were particularly impressed with how the hotel accommodated our needs by providing privacy fences around our villa, allowing us to enjoy the pool and garden worry-free. While the island itself may not have boasted the luxurious, pristine beaches found on some other Maldives islands—a feature we missed greatly—the exceptional service, stunning accommodations, and overall experience more than made up for it. Food was a highlight of our holiday. The generous hospitality of the chefs and waiting staff—especially Hafiz, who made us feel exceptionally cared for—was beyond compare. The dining hall offered an incredible variety of options that catered to every taste. Breakfast was a feast, with abundant fresh fruits that left us feeling thoroughly spoiled. It was a dining experience that made us feel truly looked after. Exploring the island was equally enjoyable. The bridge to Falhumafushi quickly became one of our favorite spots, particularly for turtle sightings. The provided bicycles, available in sizes for everyone, allowed us the freedom to explore the island at our own pace, with every request met almost instantly. The entire hotel maintained impeccable standards. Our room was cleaned to an exceptional standard every day (a special thanks to Amir), and even the garden and pool were kept pristine. Towels were provided generously twice daily, and the staff’s warm greetings and constant attentiveness added a personal touch that made our stay feel like heaven on earth. The underwater experiences were unforgettable. The house reef was stunning—we encountered sharks, turtles, and hundreds of vibrant fish while snorkeling. One day, an entire pod of dolphins swam by, an experience we will cherish forever. The marine life around the sunset overwater villa jetty was equally impressive, with eagle rays, sting rays, moray eels, and more creating an ever-changing spectacle. On one note, I did try the spa massage, which unfortunately did not meet my expectations in terms of value for money. While the therapist was lovely, the treatment felt a bit underwhelming compared to other experiences I've had elsewhere. Overall, our holiday left us feeling thoroughly spoiled in the best possible way. I wholeheartedly recommend The Residence, Dhigurah to anyone seeking a memorable Maldives getaway. Thank you for an incredible stay!
