The Residence Maldives At Dhigurah

Our stay at The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah was truly unforgettable. Every aspect — from the beautiful scenery to the delicious food, thoughtful service, and exciting activities — was perfect. We especially want to thank Prem, Lama, and April, who helped us kindly and patiently when we lost a passport. Their sincere care and professionalism saved us from a difficult situation and deeply touched our hearts. The entire team made us feel comfortable, safe, and warmly welcomed throughout our stay. Thanks to them, our honeymoon became one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. We will definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a paradise-like getaway. 💙

The hotel is perfect and people are so nice. The water villa sunset pool are amazing. Food is excellent, could be better at the dining room, specially entrance and desserts choice as well as more stands for live preparations and more sophisticated meals (for a 5* hôtel). The choice of the all inclusive is excellent, lots of cocktails, mocktails and wines. We loved having lunch at Cafe del sol/Beach club, food is excellent. What is the most remarkable is the kindness of all staff, specially the room cleaner (thanks so much!) and The dining room staff as well as the Café Del Sol/Beach Club Staff. Particularly Junaeid, Sajith, Wahul, Hafiz, Sumith and many more, we could not take all names (special thanks to the person in charge of pancakes/crêpes). Thanks to all of you! even buggy drivers are always nice, stopping the buggy when we cross them by bike. Biking on the island is excellent we had a lot of fun, even under the rain. We were amazed at the beauty of corrals and undersea life, this is one the most beautiful place we have seen for snorkelling! (7trips in Mauritius, 4 in Maldives). Unfortunately there was a lot of winds and sea was rough so that it was impossible to do snorkeling at the arrival pontoon where the corrals are the most beautiful (lots of turtles and sharks). We found some beautiful corrals east of the pontoon between both island, yet not as beautiful. Hopefully we can come back at a better period with less wind. To be noted that wind may be very noisy in the water villas(noise of sea hitting the villas). During our stay villas on the east of the island were more protected, much quieter when there is wind. Whatever our stay was perfect, one of the best hotel we have experienced.

There are so many reasons why we love the Residence. Enough that this is a review after our second visit written whilst wondering when we’ll be able to make it a third time. It ticks all the boxes you’d expect from a Maldives resort, good food (with bonus variety, à la carte options and stunning scenery), fantastic diving (easily accessible through well located piers if not in a water villa) and of course just beautiful nature, the varied blues, greens and twinkling stars (wonderfully curated by a tireless maintenance team) We also love the things that tick boxes we enjoy, free bikes at the villa and enough space to get in good rides daily through access to two islands( just look at that bridge!) and although it isn’t adults only, there is a low key relaxed romantic vibe (water sports available but not slides and shoots, DJ available but also an alternative mellow bar in the evenings). However, the true reason we will be returning is because of the people. Being surrounded by true kindness and smiles is a tonic in itself from a busy and stressful life. Being the second time, we were absolutely delighted to see familiar faces who made us feel like we’d returned to long lost friends. Our special thanks go to Suhana in the Dining Room who would always greet us so kindly, knew our preferences and looked to make this happen and made moments in her company an absolute pleasure. Ramesh on the beach bar is an absolute master at his job, nothing is missed by him and he made sure we were always cared for. We will be back and we’re not the type to usually say or do this but the Residence is pretty special.
