Just back from an eight night trip and wow, what a wonderful holiday. Right from arriving at Male, to being settled in at the lounge at Male airport for our flight home, each and every member of hotel staff we interacted with was absolutely first class. I was a little concerned about the process of catching the internal flight to Dhigurah, but I really didn't need to have worried, as the transfer was seamless and taken care of by hotel staff. Check in process was efficient and friendly and we could access our villa (618) straight away. We had a sunset deluxe beach pool villa, which was pretty much perfect. Walking out on to the deck/pool, the view of the ocean that first time takes your breath away, and didn't really fade! Watching the sunset from here is something I will never forget. Standard AI is very comprehensive from both a food and drink basis, all of which is accessible in either Dhigurah or Falumaa. Wine list had lots of choice and was very good quality. The cocktails were wonderful, and again, unless you are super fussy, everything you could want is included in the AI package. Every meal we had was faultless, whether in the Dining Room (both Dhigurah and Falumaa) or Li Bai and Falhumaa restaurant, which was a lovely experience to eat over the water. IN summary F&B quality is simply exquisite. Already touched on service at the beginning, but for me, this is where the resort really differentiates. The friendliness of your staff is up there with the best I have experienced anywhere in the world. The warmth and friendliness we received was so sincere and genuine, and was pitched absolutely perfectly at each and every interaction we had. Special mention must go to Hafiz in the Dining Room (and his wonderful colleagues; Pavan, Anshif, Jaowad, Warul, Jaysura and Chef Shoan - apologies if any mis-spellings!) who looked after us so well, remembering us and arranging to prepare special dishes for my wife who is vegetarian was super special for us. Hafiz is a sublime operator and deserves to be recognised for it. I don't want to neglect to mention the Dining Room at Falumaa, as also, the staff were super friendly, again creating memorable experiences. The beach (Castaway Island) between the two islands is stunning and when we were there, very, very quiet, so had plenty opportunities to relax. Beach bar is very welcome! Fair to say this is the best beach I have ever been on. There is no accessible beach at Cafe Del Sol/Beach Club but the huge infinity pool with glorious views makes up for this. Also, the quality of lunch here was excellent, along with great service. There is a similar offering across in Falumaa, which also has a beach. This is probably the second best beach I have ever been on! Getting around is really easy, either on the bikes provided, or via the regular scheduled buggies, or they can be ordered as necessary. The reef is incredible for snorkelling and recommend doing the reef introduction session (included in AI) to help you get your bearings. Crystal clear water and abundant sea life was amazing. Saw giant turtles, rays, sharks and so many colourful fish. Also, housekeeping was excellent, with lovely attentive service, and chocolate/cake treats delivered most nights. Such friendly people too! I never used the gym, but if you like to run, it's possible to get in a 3 to 3.75 mile loop, taking in the bridge between the islands. At dusk, the views are amazing and well worth the effort. Just make sure you put plenty of mozzy repellant on though! I'm sure I have forgotten to mention so many people in this review, which I feel terrible about, but I must stress that every member of staff we encountered, even just walking around the islands, were amazing. So, in summary, The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah is a dream location and so thankful to have had the opportunity to visit. We hope to come back in the future and thank you so much for making our holiday so memorable.
