The Ixian Grand & All Suites - Adults Only

I’ve just spent a week at the Ixian Grand and had the most relaxing week of my life. This was my first experience as a solo traveller and I was very nervous, but once I arrived at the hotel all my worries disappeared. I arrived at 11 pm and was checked in quickly. A lovely man took my suitcase to my suite, and when I got inside I was amazed. The room was beautiful, I stayed in 420 a premium swim-up room. The bed was huge and so comfy, the shower was lovely, with a rainfall head and a handheld too, as well as a beautiful smelling olive and white tea shower gel provided. The outside area was incredible. Although the pool is shared, you have complete privacy. Large flower beds are sectioning off your part of the pool, and it is very peaceful and private. I spent most of my time around my pool. There are several restaurants, though Milonges (Greek) and Muza Htista are at an extra charge unless you are staying in a suite when they give you reservations for each. My first night there I was too late for dinner and they provided a lovely sandwich roll and a plate of fresh fruit. The second night I had reservations at Muza and I must say that it was probably my favourite meal of the entire holiday. It was Japanese/Peruvian cuisine and delicious. Later in the week, I ate at Milonges, the Mediterranean, and the food was, again, wonderful. The main buffet restaurant, Vis a Vis, was very nice. The food was maybe a little limited in choice, but what there was was hot and tasty. I opted for breakfast at Alazonia restaurant most mornings, where they offer a small but varied menu and a small buffet (cereal, pastries etc). The staff were all very friendly, with a special shout out to the cleaning ladies. Even though I speak almost 0 Greek and she spoke very limited English I spoke to one particular clean lady almost daily, with kindness and smiles overcoming the language barrier easily. We always ended up laughing and it made me feel a little less isolated, being a solo traveller. The taxi to Rhodes old town was cheap enough, and reception will happily call a taxi for you. My favourite part has to be the many cats in and around the hotel. I befriended a beautiful Aegean cat, who I named Baby and who visited my room every day. I've seen people complaining about the cats, but stray cats are part of Greek culture. I will definitely be back next year.

Stayed for a week at the end of October into November. The weather was lovely around 23 - 24oC each day and we really enjoyed the hotel. We were in one of the delux double rooms with a spa bath and garden view in the main hotel. It was a great room particularly at that time of year as it got the sun on the balcony most of the day. The room itself is a good size with a very comfortable bed, decent shower and storage. We used the jacuzzi bath once for the novelty. Our fridge had some welcome soft drinks and beer, a bottle of water was refreshed each day. As we arrived late there were two sandwich rolls left for us which is a nice touch. The rooms were cleaned each day. We ate in the main dining area apart from we had the opportunity to eat one night in one of the restaurants as we were staying for 7 days. The main dining area offered a great selection of food each day, we certainly enjoyed enough variety. Our meal in Muza Htisa (Japanese/Peruvian style) was fine - great sushi, chargrilled rib eye just ok. Those guests in the suites have the option of eating there and/or the Mediterranean a la carte - it is a nice extra for those to have the choice, however, overall we were happy with the main restaurant. During the day, there is a snack bar from which we just ate the ice cream. Drinks were grand - we mostly stuck with wine, prosecco and the odd cocktail available from the main bar inside and the snack bar. We didn't use the app to order, was as handy just to walk over. Outside there are the two pool areas - it was too cold for us as is it not heated, but some more hardy people did use it. The sea was actually warmer. There were no problems getting sun beds when we were there and the outside area was spotless. Concurring with other reviews, the staff were brilliant - very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Locally there is a few touristy shops and a Spar. There are bus stops which take you into Rhodes centre (about 15mins) which was easy and there are also taxis which have set rates (13 euro into Rhodes) As our stay was towards the end of the season, many of the local bars and restaurants had already closed for the Winter. This was also the case for activities. We did get a Catamaran trip out to some of the bays where you could snorkle which I recommend - again it was their last trip and many other boat trips had finished. The advantages of towards the end of the season are no queues, better hotel/flight rates but too close and you have reduced options. Overall we really recommend this hotel, great location, comfortable rooms, great food and wonderful staff.

Just returned from a amazing holiday! We had a grand suite with private pool and although the pool was cold this time of year. The food was incredible, the Alazonia restaurant breakfasts, the greek and Japanese restaurants all really good The buffet restaurant was a bit hit and miss The staff are all so friendly Room was clean Tired all the cocktails haha There was entertainment on a couple of nights and one afternoon - all great 👍 The only negative I can say is - you could tell it was the end of season, some of the furniture was looking a bit tatty and we had some lightbulbs out (including the toilet light 🤦 Would absolutely love to return in warmer weather Thank you

Upon arrival, the hotel was very good. We had a late check-in and they kindly left sandwiches in our room which was very nice. The next day we had a knock on the door and it was a surprise birthday cake for my partners birthday, suffice to say, colour me impressed! The food overall has been okay, quite repetitive but it is an all inclusive. The hotel facilities are quote good, lots of sun loungers, 2 large pools and right on the beach, clean throughout, the bar areas are also comfy. The room was a good size, the only fault was the lack of tv channels in English and it's not a smart tv, but we managed to play music through Bluetooth. The bathroom isn't very private and the door is slightly open for all in the room to see. Bed is comfy and they cleaned our room everyday. Overall the experience was good, the staff very polite and helpful, would recommend and would happily come again next year! Would also recommend coming near the end of the season as the hotel is quite large but well placed, taxi rank at the bottom of the street and close to shops and buses!

Arriving around midnight, my wife and we're faced with a lengthy walk to our room which was up a considerable number of stairs. To be fair, we was told to take it up with reception the next morning if unhappy. We thought it might be a contribution towards exercise whilst there, but soon became a rather arduous task each day. The general location of the hotel is a bit away from much activity but the hotel provided some entertainment in the evening plus a great covers band one lunchtime. The food became a bit repetitive and I would have preferred there to be hot plates. The a la carte Greek night was a refreshing change and the hotel provided a superb night out at a Greek restaurant about 12 miles away for around forty chosen guests. Sun beds are plentiful here and towels provided. We might some lovely people and the staff were all very pleasant. Not a hotel I would rush back to but nevertheless a good experience especially as there were no children on site. Picture taken from our balcony which sadly didn't get any direct sunlight.
