Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives

We are so thankful to everyone who went above and beyond to make this holiday truly amazing from start to finish. Our travel agent, Vix Augilera, at Designer Travel, found us an amazing deal and kept us in the loop every step of the way. Her knowledge of the resort really helped us get two fantastic rooms: the first was a deluxe beach villa with a pool and the second was a water villa with a pool. The beach pool villa 323 had the pool right on the beachfront, offering stunning sea views and the most beautiful sunsets. The over-water pool villa 619 had amazing sunrise views with coral reefs all around, perfect for snorkelling. (They provide the equipment.) The restaurants are all good, but Trio and Iru buffet really stand out. Iru is simply superb; you wouldn’t believe a buffet restaurant could be this good. The food and staff are fantastic. There’s always a great selection, and a lot of food is cooked to order. At breakfast, you can have your eggs cooked any way you like! I read a lot about mosquitoes before I went, being the person who usually gets bitten, I was a bit worried, but I only got bitten twice (I get bitten more than that in my garden in Kent!) thanks to the fact that they fog twice a day, put plug-in mosquito repellent in the rooms and provide complimentary mosquito spray (pink bottle only). Walking barefoot is a must, so the complimentary flip-flops are an excellent addition, along with snacks, wine and drinks that are topped up daily. The butler service (our butler Nasif was excellent throughout) really does add to the whole experience with daily WhatsApp messages of the island activities, mindful messages and quick chats to ask if you want to dine or need a booking for any restaurants (included or not) or the spa - ladies get a complementary facial and couples a complementary Hydrotherapy.
