Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives

We’ve just returned from a seven night stay at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi and wanted to take the time to share some properly considered feedback, because the team here genuinely deserves it. From the moment we arrived, the standard of service was exceptional. Every single person we crossed paths with was warm, fully present and generous with their time. Groundskeepers, gardeners, housekeeping, waiters, sommeliers, spa staff, dive centre and recreation team, bar team and buggy drivers. It didn’t feel performed. It felt personal, and it was consistent across every team, every day. A particular thank you to Jawad, the resort manager, and Naufal, the assistant manager, who set the tone from the top and could not have been more present or attentive throughout our stay. Ahmed gave us a brilliant tour of Viladhoo that we won’t forget. Gayan, the sommelier, delivered a wine tasting that was a genuine highlight. Mariya, Matteo, Miranda and Sunny at Trio became our resort family by the end of the week. Rahul, Gita and the spa team looked after us beautifully. And Silini gave us a thorough resort tour and walked us through the new beach villa concept. We chose to dine a la carte every single evening, and not one meal was anything less than phenomenal. Chef Niraj at Trio went out of his way to cook us bespoke dishes most nights, including a memorable foie gras and beef cheek course, alongside generous portions of lobster and prawns. Chef Vivek, Jadeja and the Taste of India team delivered consistently extraordinary food. The Prawn Masala was so good we ate it three times. Bamboo was our firm lunch favourite throughout the week and also delivered in the evenings with a slightly different menu. Flavours was closed for refurbishment which was a shame but is due to reopen in June. The Maldivian Island Experience afternoon was another highlight, with the special expo opening showcasing local heritage and culture. It gave the stay real depth and is something we’ll talk about for a long time. The spa was the reset we didn’t know we needed. The facial and Power Pack massage were both sensational. Yoga with Dr Anjali on the dive deck, particularly the pranayam session, will stay with us. We made full use of the hydrotherapy session and the gym too. The entrance to the spa is wonderfully unassuming - Inside is a complete escape and so serene! We did a split stay across two villa categories. Three nights in beach villa 232 was a beautiful soft landing, with that barefoot quiet you hope for. Four nights in overwater villa 632 was the standout. Being able to snorkel straight off the deck via Boli bridge is something we won’t stop talking about. Across the week we packed in the island tour, sunset cruise, wine tasting, snorkelling, spa treatments and hydrotherapy. The only thing we missed was the training sessions with Tippi, who was off island for family emergency. Hopefully next time. I work in luxury travel and I have already booked a client in for January as a direct result of this stay. There is no higher recommendation I can give a property than that. Five stars doesn’t quite cover the experience I just had at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi. This is the second time I’ve been on this resort within 5 years. I arrived needing to switch off and recharge, and I left completely restored and that’s down to the people as much as the place. I have to start with Neesha, my butler, who was simply exceptional. From the moment we met to the minute I departed, he looked after me with a rare kind of intuition. He understood without being told that I wanted space to unwind, and he balanced it perfectly , attentive when I needed something, invisible when I wanted quiet. That instinct for reading a guest can’t be trained; it’s a gift. Neesha, thank you, you made the trip. My housemaid looked after the beach villa 417 with that same quiet attentiveness. He kept everything immaculate without ever disturbing me, always anticipating what I needed , water bottles topped up, the little things sorted before I’d even noticed they were low. That kind of unobtrusive care is exactly what turns a villa into a true retreat. You know who you are! The daily culinary team deserves equal praise. I have specific daily healthy dietary requirements, and rather than treat them as a limitation, the head chef , and his team embraced them — cooking for me well outside the standard menu, day after day, never once making it feel like a fuss. It was like having my own private chef preparing exactly what my body needed. The skill and care there genuinely elevated the whole stay. I came home fully recharged and ready for what’s next exactly what a holiday should do, and rarely does this well. To Neesha, my housemaid, the day head chef and his team, and everyone at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi: thank you for looking after me so completely. I’ll be back for sure.

Had a wonderful time at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, beautiful island and so peaceful where I was able to switch off and relax. Rooms where very stylish and kept very clean . Food was nothing short of exquisite and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating all the time. One of may favourite parts were some of the personal touches like welcome messages left on the bed in palm leaves.

I came here solo and honestly had no idea what to expect. It exceeded every expectation. Iru Fushi is one of those places that just gets it right. The kind of beautiful that doesn't feel performative, quiet, unhurried, and genuinely restorative. But what really made this stay was my butler Azzam. His care and attentiveness throughout was exceptional. Always there when I needed something, never in the way when I didn't, and quietly making everything perfect without any fuss. He made the entire experience feel personal and effortless. I'm already thinking about when I can go back.

Amazing experience at Sun Siyam IruFushi. Aalam looked after our every need and everything was perfect. Preveen at breakfast so lovely, Sunny at Trio so interesting, Abdullah at Fluid and rest of the team so happy. Too many lovely peeps to mention all by name but each has added to our dream holiday.
