Can't explain how amazing this hotel is! Staff members are charming, friendly and very helpful. The location of the place is the best in my opinion. A quiet area between Fira and Oia with cafes and restaurants. And let's not talk about the dreamy landscape. Definitely not our last time there. Only the breakfast should improve with more options, other than that everything was perfect!!!!

Great place to stay!

We just spent 4 nights here in the honeymoon suite (13), which is absolutely stunning with a huge outdoor pool/tub. Staff were all great and the little touches (champagne in our room on arrival, beach bag/beach towels) were lovely. Imerovigli is a great area to stay with nice bars/restaurants very close to the hotel, but also possible to walk to Fira if you want somewhere more busy/bustling. We also walked the whole coastal path to Oia which took around 3 hours and had amazing views. Only small negatives I have are: we would have liked more choice at breakfast and the black stone in the room is VERY slippery when wet- be careful. The idea of an open plan shower/bathroom is lovely until you have wet floors!!! Also, be aware the property is basically built into the cliffs so there are lots of stairs- fine for us but wouldn't suit if you have mobility issues. Other than that- a total delight and would love to return one day!

A lovely stay

We have just recently stayed at Stella Rocca for 3 nights. It was a lovely stay and we found both pros and cons to the hotel. Pros were firstly the staff. All staff from receptionists, to bar staff to cleaners were all so so welcoming and accommodating. Another pro was how beautiful the hotel was. The view was absolutely breathtaking. As the hotel was in Imerovigli it was a very quiet area which was preferred. While we enjoyed our stay we do however have a few cons. Firstly the room, while it was a stunning view and in a quiet location, the hotel restaurant was directly above our room (the other rooms next to us would have also had the restaurant above). This meant lots of chairs scraping above. It didn’t bother us too much but around busy times it was a lot, including setting up for breakfast (7am) and during the evening (until around midnight). Another con was the breakfast. Breakfast was very limited and not good value for money. There were 3 different types of egg based breakfasts (poached, scrambled and fried - if you don’t like egg good luck), cheese/meat plates, small bread baskets and limited fruits (no cereals, pancakes etc). We think for the price this is very poor. To make the breakfast even worse, often the hotel didn’t have certain things on the menu, i.e. hot chocolate. Finally, ants. We understand that the hotel is on a cliff but the amount of ants in the hotel was a lot. The staff did try and prevent this by emptying bins in rooms a few times a day but there were still lots of ants (in particularly on our first night). We reported this to reception, the cleaner came and all she did was kill the ants with a tissue and left. No spray to prevent anymore ants… Although the hotel is beautiful and staff are lovely, we think value for money this hotel could be a lot better and some improvements are needed.

Perfect in every way!

We enjoyed 7 amazing nights at Stella Rocca Mare. We stayed in one of the Dome rooms (#3) and it was perfect and very private when out on the balcony or in the hot tub. The staff were superb throughout from arranging our transfers, to the warm welcome on arrival. The two Kostas’ in the restaurant/bar were brilliant and so friendly. The view of the Caldera was incredible and Imerovigli was a great location, just a 5-10 mins walk down to Fira and some great restaurants. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Once in a lifetime experience

We can't recommend this hotel enough. The views were out of this world and truly spectacular. However what made Stella Rocca stand out was the amazing staff. Literally everyone we met were genuinely kind and caring and super helpful. Special shoutout to Kostas. He literally did everything at the hotel from picking up our luggage when we got dropped off and lugging it tirelessly down several flight of stairs (and also lugging it back up when we left)... to making sure our hot tub was just the right temperature... to proactively helping us during our stay. Honestly one of the most genuine, kind, helpful persons we have ever had the pleasure of meeting when traveling. We can't wait to return to this amazing place!
