Soneva Fushi is definitely the best (not one of) hotel I have ever visited. Their villas, service, food, activities, facilities are just the best. Nothing you can complain about. Our barefoot guardian Adonia is so friendly, helpful and kind. She answers all our questions and requests whenever we need her.

listen up, fellow coffee addicts! this place is gonna be your new happy place. 😍 they've got this amazing in-house roastery, and let me tell you, the smell alone is worth the stay. each room has a high-end espresso machine, and they offer coffee tasting sessions every afternoon. the baristas are like coffee wizards, always ready to whip up your perfect brew. if you're the type who needs a good cuppa to function, you've gotta check this place out.

We have just returned from our sixth visit to Soneva Fushi since 2010 and thought we would take a moment to record why this place remain so special to the Walker family in a few short sentences: ......a relatively large, single resort island, with unusually mature and lush vegetation, replete with wild life, both airborne and at ground level, a place to get lost in a little (as if in Venice!) in its maze of beautifully tended sandy pathways on your serviceable if rather clunky old steel bicycle; ......barefoot luxury in beautifully and originally designed villas and places to eat and relax in which melt into the jungle…. some of the public convenience are so vast, so gloriously set in their own private open air gardens, that a family of four could live in one happily for a month! (they have to be seen to be believed!); ......a vast variety of Michelin Star quality food, served in rational sized amounts, catering to every possible taste and dietary preference, served in different ambiences across the island; ......many complementary experiences, with special privileges for returning guests, ranging from talks on the history of the Maldives to the preservation of the turtles and coral, yoga classes twice a day, complementary Indian and Sri Lankan cooking lessons from their head chefs, and fascinating tours of their eco recycling centre, vegetable gardens, etc; ......stunning beaches and translucent water with surely some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world…. renascent populations of mantas, reef sharks (the non bitey variety!) and turtles, so many fish….all the colours of the rainbow, amazing how the banning of fishing with nets has transformed the marine life in a decade…. there may yet be hope elsewhere; ......just a lovely environment to relax in, or be very active if you wish, always some interesting people in residence, no dominant nationality and the staff always smiling with genuine goodwill, ever available but unobtrusive; Every two years or so we set foot back on Soneva a little worried in case things might not quite as good, as it is difficult to imagine things getting any better….. and each time the family leaves, rested and reconnected with each other, with a renewed interest in our health, in what we eat, thinking, yes, we will be back again soon, as somehow Soneva, at least for us, never loses its freshness or its unique appeal.
