Just ok - beautiful location

The hotel is located in the most beautiful setting. The views are stunning and access to the walks and roads around the pine forest lake and beaches are ideal. For running and walking this is a wonderful location for anyone wanting an active holiday with beautiful scenery as there are plenty of steps being located on a hillside. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned to a high standard (although we still had ants). The facilities are average, no gym, no kids club or kids activities actually very little for children under 10. The play park was just plastic units and a rickety swings. The shop on site had basic needs but was very expensive! The pool started at 1.5metre which is deep for kids and the far end was 4metres deep. Kids were not allowed to jump in other than if they stood on the steps. Every one congregated at the not so shallow end so got very busy quick ! The staff I personally think are overworked they do long hours and it certainly felt like they had just had enough. No communication or very little around services ( Transfers - waited in reception but needed to walk down the hill?) Beach transfers - poor only take you to bottom of steps not at far end of the beach. Only one night of music the other nights were occupied by weddings or conference events. My kids got bored very quickly as there is nothing for them to do so I do not recommend this for kids aged 4-10. Reception mixed our rooms up and asked us to swop after we had unpacked even though both parties were ok. Phone kept ringing throughout the night had to unplug it. Food was average, cold and lots of flies - not a lot for children in the evening, but they did help when asked. No ice cream for kids on the menu and the shop priced them at 5euros each. You have to buy water - none available and not included. Generally speaking it was an average stay, but the beaches and tourism of the island has taken over and felt overcrowded in most places, even when we took a private yatch trip. Would recommend a visit to the Island but out of season.

A little slice of paradise!

We are about to leave after a fabulous week here at the Skiathos Palace Hotel and it’s going to be very hard to say goodbye. After such excellent service from the management team - Stellios, George, and the lovely Gest Relations Manager Sophia, we have been truly spoilt. The hotel is situated in a beautiful bay and it’s just idyllic. Surrounded by forests and with steep walks (you’re going to be fitter when you leave!) down to beaches with clear aquamarine seas, I kept checking myself that I wasn’t in the movie Mamma Mia! We chose the B&B option and the offering was extensive and delicious each day. In fact we ate so well that we didn’t need lunch and had dinner from a restaurant a close walk from the hotel, which was also excellent. We originally had booked a standard room but upgraded to an Executive room and this was gorgeous - we would definitely pay more next time for this option from the start. We are already planning our next trip back here which is something we have never done before - we always choose to mix it up but this place is very hard to beat. Highly recommended. Ali and Ray.

A really lovely place with gardens and a forest around, and a spectacular view! Ideal for holidays or wedding receptions!We stayed at Skiathos Palace for holidays and to attend our friends' wedding. The dishes are tasty, traditional Greek st reasonable prices for a hotel. It's spotlessly clean and that is not an exaggeration. l have no idea what the whole fuss is about regarding the uphill ,we were all accommodated with shuttles buses to town and two beaches so you don't have to walk if you don't wish to do so. As for the staff ,the reception and Sofia have been amazing .There have been one or two employees a little aloof but it's ok. Overall,our experience was amazing ,the wedding reception extremely enjoyable and we are considering booking for next year pretty soon! Thank you Skiathos Palace Hotel!

The staff and manager Sofia were so welcoming and friendly and very kind. You can enjoy a picturesque view whilst having breakfast. We managed to get very fit walking up and down to the beaches, We had a delux double bedroom with balcony which was basic and please don’t compare to a 5* in the uk. But what you do have is beautiful location , clean, gorgeous weather and scenic views . The bbq on a Saturday evening is lovely but there are also many lovely places to eat and enjoy in Skiathos town. The shuttle bus which is free but you need to book if you have excursions to get to for 9.30 you will need to catch the bus at the bottom of the hotel which is 3 euro each and sometimes it’s nice to catch the water taxi back from the port which is slightly more but fun. They run often and easy to catch. Personally we didn’t spend long in our bedroom so it didn’t matter too much, there’s a lifeguard around the pool. Diving and jumping in isn’t allowed and the children are quite safe. There’s lots of space for children to enjoy. Our waiter George was also very lovely and friendly and made our son laugh a lot! A quiet location to then go off and explore the island. There isn’t a lift if you struggle with mobility but I am aware there is a bus if you need it to the beach below.

The hotel is old, but renovated and in the best location on Skiathos. The cleanliness of the hotel is at the highest level. The host manager Sofia is very professional and at the service and believe it or not, she made our stay at the hotel even better. A five-star rating includes a stay in deluxe rooms and above, standard rooms are not acceptable and kudos to how clean you keep the hotel, there are no viruses or bacteria, even there are a lot of children.
