Sentido Port Royal Villas & Spa

Fabulous stay so far. The staff are utterly beyond description.....so good, so attentive. A particular shout out to the wait staff and the chefs in Armira Restaurant. They have all been terrific - fabulous, as is the food. We are from Charleston, South Carolina, one of the top 20 'foodie' towns in America and we are massively impressed every time we sit down at this place. Marking out of 10 we give a 12.

My fiancé and I have been visiting Port Royal every summer for the past two years, making this our third return. Let’s start with the positives. The staff at La Pasteria and Armira restaurants were as wonderful as ever, making us feel completely welcome and at home. The gentleman checking us in recognized us from our previous stays and kindly made a reservation at Cibus for a late-night snack (we were a late arrival) , which was delicious. To top it off, we were greeted with a bottle of champagne and an absolutely delicious cake in our room—a thoughtful touch that started our holiday off right. The updated rooms are absolutely stunning. Our mini bar was restocked every other day, and housekeeping kept the room spotless with daily cleanings. The pool area, as always, was beautiful both day and night, although the bar service was just okay, still using paper cups and empties being left piled up for hours. The hotel is maintained to a very high standard, with the reception and housekeeping staff consistently polite and friendly. However, this year did come with some disappointments. The most notable issue was the limited selection on the all-inclusive menu. It seems that fresh fish and high-quality meats were removed from the all inclusive, likely to cut costs. Starters were almost non-existent—basically just garlic bread or ciabatta—and while the main courses were fine, they didn’t deliver the wow factor we had enjoyed in previous years. The beachside canteen also felt like a missed opportunity. The only alcoholic option was local beer, which meant the area was practically empty all day. It was disappointing to see such a beautiful spot underutilised. Unfortunately, the most upsetting experience happened on our last day. We decided to have our final meal at the buffet restaurant, but my fiancé was chased down and turned away by the manager because he was wearing shorts that went above the knee. The infuriating part was that there were women inside wearing nearly identical outfits, but because my fiancé, who is proudly queer and gender non-conforming, was born male, he was denied entry. The manager was rigid and refused to engage in any kind of dialogue, which felt deeply transphobic and discriminatory. This was especially frustrating because my fiancé had worn skirts and dresses throughout our stay, at La Pasteria without any issues. In fact, the staff had complimented his style on numerous occasions, celebrating his individuality. It’s baffling that a five-star resort would enforce such a dated and discriminatory dress code. The idea that men must wear shorts below the knee feels not only archaic but also blind to the diversity and beauty of gender expression. In 2024, it’s hard to believe that any high-end establishment would still cling to such old-fashioned policies. After this incident at the buffet restaurant, we headed to La Pasteria, where we were welcomed without any issues, as we had been throughout our stay. My fiancé, still in the same outfit that had caused so much trouble at the buffet, was seated immediately, and we enjoyed a lovely meal without a single comment about his attire. The staff were, as always, warm and accepting, reinforcing that this was not an issue with the resort’s overall policies but a reflection of the transphobic attitude of the buffet restaurant manager. The contrast between how we were treated at La Pasteria and the discriminatory behavior we experienced just moments before made it all the more clear that the manager’s actions were personal and rooted in bias, rather than a genuine enforcement of dress code standards. It’s unacceptable that a five-star resort would allow such blatant discrimination from its staff, and this final act of hospitality at La Pasteria only highlighted how wrong the situation at the buffet restaurant had been. This unfortunate incident overshadowed what had been an otherwise pleasant stay. We were prepared to give the resort four stars, but this experience knocked off two stars from our review. It’s a real shame that the last two hours of our ten-day holiday left such a bitter taste, and sadly, it means we won’t be returning.

Stayed for a week in August in a sea view room with shared swim up pool all inclusive. The room was fabulous and a stones throw away from the sea and little beach van Cheek to cheek. The shared pool was amazing and a lovely refreshing temperature, it was also a good distance swim from end to end. The sunbeds and personal decking area was also brilliant. The private beach are was great not too pebbly to get into the sea, the sun lounges were very comfortable and the beach service for drinks was great. The bar staff were so friendly and chatty. We enjoyed the pool bar Kallithea it was a good vibe and the staff could not do enough for you, the live music in the afternoon on a few occasions was lovely too. The Blue bar was lovely and staff there too, we could not understand why it was so quiet, the views were amazing. The other live entertainment was a bit hit and miss but it depends on taste for music I suppose. The music we didnt like at all was the DJ nights, this was very loud and just not appropriate for the ambience of the place at all, it just involved a man standing at a playing machine blurting loud stuff out - was shocking and most guests during our stay thought the same.....and we are not old and love music and loud vibe but really not that. The main buffet was great and we are not fans of buffet food at all. There was a lovely selection of quality food we really enjoyed it. Also as soon as you were seated staff came to get your drinks order and were quick with a top up so couldn't fault this. Staff lovely and helpful. The Armira restaurant at lunch, food was lovely and service great same on an evening when this changed to La Pasteria a la carte. The only thing about these restaurants was the crown system. I had seen this on reviews but not realised until we arrived at the hotel how restricted the menu was. Over 7 days and nights the menu was very restricted unless you paid for food without the crown. We paid over £3000 for a week so didn't expect to be paying any more for food. This really was a down side for us I have not been to an all inclusive were it actually isn't all inclusive especially having paid quite a sum for the package. Then there was the CIBUS bar/nightclub....not sure what this place actually was, we went up (above the Armira restaurant) once there was noone else in and no atmosphere. We thought we would try the snacks up there for a change rather than the restaurants, however due to the crown system 6 items were included in the all inclusive (not including desserts) out of 22 items! We left and went to the buffet, very disappointing. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to return but this is unlikely with the restrictive crown system which is a massive shame.

Amazing hotel, fantastic staff and beautiful location. We got married in Rhodes Town, and the spa staff at the hotel were amazing. I booked my hair appointment a few weeks before my arrival. I then met Barbara and showed her photos of what i wanted. The service was amazing. She was efficient, and knew exactly what to do. So pleased with my hair which was a beautiful up do, which i would recommend in the hot summers, and at a good price. They also offer makeup (but i did my own) but it’s a great option to have here! The wedding and holiday was so perfect, if you’re looking to stay in Rhodes, i would recommend this hotel/resort….. So much so we will go back to celebrate our 1st year anniversary next year for sure!!

Parizek A. - Prague Greece is an amazing country and Rhodes its iconic island.I have had the opportunity to spend many of my holidays in Rhodes, and in several hotels. However, the Sentido Port Royal is the absolute best. I am a regular visitor to this hotel, having been here fourteen times. At first glance it impresses with its pleasant architecture. It is one of the smaller and therefore quieter hotels. It provides a large selection of Greek gastronomy, but also several places to sit, depending on the type of cuisine. The main attribute of the hotel is the excellent service. There is excellent service at all levels. Everyone will find a friendly atmosphere and the possibility of sporting activities. The hotel has a fitness room, a tennis court and a spa for relaxation. Around the hotel there are pleasant places for jogging and snorkeling with the possibility to observe the rather rich underwater world and yet safe, there is no danger of being endangered by water vehicles. I also often choose the hotel as a place for my creative leisure (writing). For this reason the hotel suits perfectly.
