Lovely hotel, friendly staff, missing a few bits!! I came here with my partner for a getaway and booked the superior (standard) double room. Room was basic but had a tv (few English channels) hairdryer, 2 twin beds put together, mini fridge, a terrace (most of the standard rooms are located on the ground floor) you do have to get 2 lifts from the reception to the room we were staying in (BLOCK A) which is fine but a lot of the time the second set of lifts were broken and we had to walk up and down 5 sets of stairs. This can be quite difficult with heavy suitcases as we found out when we arrived. Food was great and very varied, we didn’t book the Mexican restaurant but the Italian section in the main restaurant was amazing. We also were a little disappointed to find no bathtub in our room, as this is mentioned on the website that it includes it. Entertainment in the evening (singers) were absolutely brilliant. We went to the bad every night for a week and all of the singers were amazing. Minus a few little things, the hotel was really nice and accommodating.

Inconsistent rules

We recently stayed at this hotel and were overall impressed with the size of the complex. On arrival we received an upgrade for our room which was a great start to the trip. The food was enjoyable, there is plenty of choice. The restaurant had a dress code, which we were happy to respect. However, I had an uncomfortable encounter with a server named Eva. During the middle of the day, I was seated OUTSIDE wearing a long sleeve shirt and trousers. My shirt was slightly unbuttoned due to the heat and I had my bikini underneath, and Eva approached with a scowl, telling me to button up. I complied, but it left me feeling quite embarrassed. What made the situation more confusing was that not long after, a guest wearing just a bikini top sat in the same area and was not asked to cover up. This continued for the rest of the week, I saw many guests walking round in just bikini tops and not being challenged? This inconsistency made the experience feel personal and unfair. Additionally, we found the rules around the main bar closing time inconsistent. While I was refused a Pepsi at 11:05pm (just minutes after closing) we saw other guests being served alcoholic drinks well beyond that time. In fact, some of these guests even offered to get our drinks for us, claiming the staff would still serve them. It was frustrating and unclear why the rules didn’t seem to apply equally to everyone. I will say that the staff in the Green bar are beautifully polite and were consistently nice to us. While the hotel has many positives, these inconsistencies in service made us feel singled out at times, which took away from an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Sandos papagayo perfect Easter break

We have just returned from a fabulous holiday On arrival everything was very straight forward and a swift check in. When we got to the room we had no power Contacted reception in no time it was attended to. Takes a bit of time to get used to the layout as it's a massive hotel but using the tunnels underneath saved a bit of walking We booked the Asian and Mexican restaurants on arrival and have to say these were amazing and such a lovely atmosphere The RE made a big difference for us no queuing at the bar and a lovely rooftop terrace to sit in the last of the evening sun. The RE dining was great as it was so calm, shown to a table on arrival and served lovely bottles of wine. There is a great variety of food in all the restaurants and we only ate outside to hotel once at a cafe in the little precinct down the hill. The canarain bar had some good entertainment on at night and we also went to the theatre bar which we enjoyed too although very busy. We had no problems getting beds as travelling as an older couple no kids so didn't need to be in the thick of it and enjoyed the adults only pool. We walked into playa blanca to the marina It's a lovely walk about 45 minutes each way We did it on market day so it was very busy Markets on Wednesday and Saturday nice stalls plenty going on. No idea what nightlife or food is like in the resort but other guests said it was good plenty places and lively bars. This was our experience we enjoyed it and would return For us Royal Elite made it better extras you are getting were good value As others have said ask reception if there's something specific for your holiday We booked through easyjet as was much cheaper than jet2 for the same holiday and we upgraded to Royal Elite

Very Pleasant Stay

We stayed for 5 nights and booked the Elite Package. Sea view room was really nice and tranquil which was just what we needed. Coffee machine and robes were an added bonus along with the pool towels so no need to rent. I emailed ahead to arrange for an iron and ironing board which was there upon arrival. Room was a bit tired. But overall lovely. Huge hotel which took us a day or two to find our bearings. Thoroughly enjoyed the elite dining and lounge experience which I’d highly recommend. Great location with spectacular views and a lovely walk to the harbour where we ate in the Indian Restaurant one night. Highly recommend. Staff were mostly friendly apart from the reception staff who sent me to the wrong shower room that was already occupied on our last day, as we had an evening flight. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

Pleasant Hotel in a great location - Well Run and Lovely Staff

Everything about the holiday was "good" and we had a nice week. Our Room was nice with a great view. Food was good, some things excellent (like Paella and Spanish Omelette) and some stuff a bit hit and miss, typical All Inclusive. We were there a week and I think any longer would have been a bit repetitive. Drinks were not great; wine on tap and poor quality coffee etc. We took a chilly bottle with us which is ideal to fill up from the cold water machines. The Animation Team are really good and you can take part - or not get involved if you like, they are not pushy. It's there if you want it. The Location is great. Open space and a great beach one way. Harbour area and the main area of Playa Blanca the other way. We used the curtesy bus one afternoon and went to Playa Blanca getting the 5.30 but back. It's about an hours walk otherwise. We did walk to the harbour area one evening and thats walkable. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Entertainment. Kids entertainment looked really good. We always watched the end of the kids games and they were very funny! We had a teen with us and not so much for her and the teen area was closed. The evening entertainment is all acrobat/circus based on a small stage and there is live music in the bar. It was good, but a bit repetitive. Swimming Pools - One busy one (allegedly heated but not much difference) where the games also take place, kids Section, Bigger pool (where we sat - less noises but not quiet either!) and the adults only section. The rules say no inflatables, but this wasn't enforced and the hotel actually sells them and inflates them. Bit confusing. Tips - Ask if something is missing. I read a few reviews before we left with negative comments. We had a couple of requests (dressing gowns/mattress on sofa bed/chair for 3rd person on balcony) and these were all sorted for us and made our stay even better. Don't be afraid to ask as the staff and hotel are very accommodating. There were quite a few comments about the hotel being in need of a make over. I can see what people are saying, there are a few dated areas, however everywhere is very clean which I think is more important. Also, the hotel is 4 star and was cheaper than a few other options available to us. The Best Bits - Location, staff and cleanliness. The Worst Bits - the fight for Sun Beds. There definitely isn't enough for the size of the hotel. You need to be willing to get up early to grab one if that's important to you. By 9-10am they are all reserved with towels. The hotel runs well and they obviously have put a lot into getting the right staff. If they sorted out the sun bed dramas, it would make for a much nicer stay.

Sandos Papagayo . All Inclusive is located on the seafront in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. The hotel is close to beaches of the Papagayo Natural Park (600m). The Timanfaya National Park is 20 km away. The rooms are spacious and bright, with a balcony with views, bathroom with hairdryer, satellite TV with international channels. Each room provides a safety deposit box (supplement charge). The complex provides four outside pools, gym, minigolf and sports center, plus spa, sauna and steam bath.
