Paradise lost

First the positives. The room was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything we needed including an umbrella. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We visited the Maldives a few years ago and loved snorkelling around the live reef teeming with marine life in tranquil surroundings. So we were so disappointed to find that this is a man made island with very little reef and very little marine life. Instead it was very noisy thanks to jet skis, piped music and motor boats. We took a boat trip and saw that this was the case on the other islands we saw. It’s so sad to see such a paradise overdeveloped and ruined. The food was pretty good but we were staying half board which meant the menu choices were restricted in some of the restaurants, we expected to pay for alcoholic drinks but not to be charged for tea and coffee with meals. The drinks were extortionately priced, 9. - 10 US dollars for a beer for example, not including 20% sales tax, the place followed the pernicious US trend of not including tax on any prices on the menus. We felt fleeced to be honest. We won’t return

We absolutely loved our time at Saii Lagoon loved every little bit of our trip the staff have been wonderful, can't do it enough for you. The staff member at the pool bar, always friendly and welcoming, he works hard on his own and makes the best cocktails. Our rooms were always clean and tidy along with the rest of the hotel. We enjoyed cycling around the Island. The solo singer on hardrock and the chefs in sessions all made it that much more special.

Incredible hotel with fantastic staff! The rooms are clean with the perfect sea view. Saii beach club has very very clean water bar with nice cocktails especially young coconut cocktail! We really enjoyed the service and we will come back soon (next jan2026) and water bar service man Thiru was very kind and frendly. He always gave us so good suggestions for our choice.

Now going to the Maldives ain’t cheap but we went away feeling relaxed but with good value for what we had. We booked bed and breakfast but when we got there we upgraded to the all inclusive as it was definitely worth it. Being able to use the hard rock plus the places on the marina which are also included made it a no brainer. All the restaurants are high quality but what stands out was the staff who are all fantastic a thank you to Eddy who seemed to be there all the time in what ever restaurant we went in ! The kebab and curry was a personal favourite slightly different from an Indian back home but very good and well worth a visit. I picked this place as it had a bit more going on and glad we did it really is paradise. The pool bar is a great place to get out of the afternoon sun all the staff make great cocktails plus a shout out to Imad for keeping the room spotless towels and water when we needed them a top man ! It’s quiet laid back but well worth a visit thanks to all for making it a holiday of a lifetime.

Wonderful Resort

A wonderful resort located on an island in the beautiful Maldivian Sea, just 20 minutes away from Male International Airport by speedboat. The service is of high quality, the food is excellent, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy. I highly recommend Saii Lagoon to anyone planning to travel to the Maldives.
