We are currently at the Royal Seginus “5 star” resort and can honestly say, it’s been one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. We have stayed at 7 other hotels in Lara Beach (we like to try different hotels) and this was one we always wanted to stay at. First impressions when we checked in were good but that quickly changed. The food has been extremely poor and very repetitive. I tried to book an a la carte last night but despite advertising that they have 9 a la Carte restaurants, none are actually open unless they get 10 people willing to pay €30 each. We decided to go to the main restaurant again and my wife had to go to our room early as was sick. I spoke to customer relations and they just called the head chef up to speak to me. He was very nice and apologised for the issue. He offered to make it right by booking us into the steak a la carte tonight. When I accepted this offer I then sat back down with the customer relations to book our table, and she turned round and charged me €30 each. The customer service in this hotel is absolutely abysmal. Maybe if you are Turkish, German or Russian they might be more accommodating but they have been nothing but rude to me whenever I speak to customer relations or the reception. Another interesting thing I found out today was that the one great member of staff we come across is actually planning on leaving this hotel tomorrow as he hates working here. I think that tells you a lot. Also, while being made to wait at the customer relations desk, I found it very interesting to see all the awards the this hotel has won over the years. The only thing that people may not notice is that all those awards were won before 2023. I’m not sure when the stone group took over this hotel but seems like it’s going downhill every year. When booking this hotel we were told that the season starts on the 1st April and everything would be open as it would be in summer. This is complete lies. Two of the big/best slides are still closed, the amusements/carnival rides have been closed, the pier is still closed and work now being done on it, the amphitheater is still not being used and the entertainment is extremely basic and not well advertised. The entertainment staff seem lost and not very energetic. The only time we seen them doing the rounds at the pool was when they were selling bingo tickets (perhaps for commission) There have been 2 big conventions here already in the last 5 days and it’s mainly been run and attended by local men, who are mostly rude and intimidating and unprepared to queue at the bars and restaurants which makes it unpleasant, especially with so many families around. To finish off, although we always liked the look of the hotel from the outside and wanted to stay here, my parents were here 1 year ago and said it was good, and they are very much surprised at the rapid downfall in such a short time. We are still in the hotel for another 5 nights so if management are reading this, please don’t comment with your standard reply which we’ve seen on other reviews. If you would like to discuss these issues, please just get in touch.
