This hotel enjoys a spectacular location in Funchal Bay, directly beside the Atlantic Ocean. A supermarket, diverse shops, a bar and restaurants are to be found close to the hotel and the sea is also just a few minutes walk away. The city centre lies1 km away and there is a stop for the public transport service is approximately 50 m from the hotel. Housed in an architecturally interesting building, this hotel has an exclusive level of comfort. Built in 2002, there are a total 10 floors with 174 junior and superior suites. Amongst the facilities at this particularly elegant hotel count a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, 6 lifts and a safe in the rooms. There are also several boutiques and common rooms (games room, library, TV room and lounge), a hairdresser's salon and a conference room. Dining options include a piano bar and 1 air-conditioned restaurant with à la carte and 1 buffet service. Superb staff, great value food offering. Classy hotel with nice pool area and facilities Traditional feel but clean and well appointed. Gym is a little underwhelming if you need it - could do with a little more equipment but thats about it. Well located for walking into Funchal

Just returned from a lovely week at the Royal Savoy. The Hotel is excellent with a range of facilities and welcoming and friendly staff. We stayed Bed and Breakfast, so can't comment on evening meals, but the breakfast is extensive and of good quality. The bar snacks were very nice. We had a room on the 9th floor, with balcony looking out to sea, which was lovely and spacious. The pool area is nicely designed with different areas and sections so its not just rows of sunbathers near each other. Couple of minor complaints - would be nice to be able to get proper milk for tea in the room but wasn't available. Also we had a rather excellent Afternoon Tea but please not squirty cream with the scones! The hotel is in a great location. 10 to 15 minutes walk will get you into central Funchal and near the hotel are a number of restaurants to try. There is a bridge from the 9th floor heading towards the sister Hotel Savoy Palace which drops you into a street - turning right or left there are places to dine. Its also not too far up the road to more restaurants near Reids Hotel. If you want to go on tours of the island most operators will pick up from here. Highly Recommended!
