Awful experience

We came to royal holiday palace as a family of 5 and had another family of 5 with us. We came on Easter holidays and paid a premium for what we thought would be luxury. Arriving at the hotel didn’t disappoint, really close to the airport and stunning from the outside and lobby. The problems started as soon as we arrived, they got our rooms wrong and tried to put children one end of the hotel and adults the other end which is not what we booked and agreed with Tui. We ended up having to squeeze 5 people in a 4 bed room. We realised on day 1 that we could only eat in the buffet and no other restaurant was included in the evening, we had to pay, usually you get a night in the speciality restaurants. The buffet was so busy at all times and a lot of the food ran out by 8pm especially the deserts. The food in the buffet didn’t really cater for English at all and no labels so didn’t no what a lot of things were. The food itself was basic and repetitive with no alternatives. No premium drinks or table service, we often had to Que for 20 minutes for a drink at night. Entertainment was non existent, we tried to complain and they were incredibly rude and intimidating when we tried to explain we were all very bored and everything was closed, To be fair Omar tried his best to step things ip after we complained but there were a lot of people to look after. The evening was in the lobby, it felt like a waiting room. The Poole and beach bars were all closed even when it was 28 degrees in the day. They said it was to cold and just had some very basic music I. The reception lobby. We went to the bar in the lobby on an evening and there was one bar attendant, a lady who was so rude and actually made me feel so uncomfortable that I wouldn’t go back up, she was aggressive because I needed to order 10 drinks, she was saying tho ha to me in Turkish and slamming the drinks and huffing and stomping when I asked for another one.

A nice hotel

Surprisingly one of the better hotels we've stayed at – and we visit Turkey at least once a year. Pros: The receptionist named Kursid was very helpful and friendly – made us feel welcome right away. There is a 24-hour bar in the lobby, which is very convenient. Food is always available, so you won’t go hungry at any time. The guest relations team was polite and helpful. There are plenty of pools, so finding a sunbed is never a problem. Slushies are available at the amphitheater bar – a nice treat. We paid extra for a sea view room and it was totally worth it – amazing view. Most of the hotel staff were friendly and provided good service. Cons: One receptionist, Yaren, asked for 15 euros per hour for late checkout, which we thought was too much. The 24-hour bar gets busy sometimes, so you might have to wait a bit to be served. The food has good variety, but the taste could be better. The à la carte restaurants cost 20 euros per person – many other hotels offer at least one free meal at these during your stay. Our room was near the lifts, so it could be noisy at times. We didn’t see much of the entertainment team, and the overall entertainment at the hotel was disappointing. It included a belly dance show, a dance performance, two live music nights, and two quiz nights, but none were very exciting

Our stay in a palace

This has been our first visit to Turkey and the Royal Holiday Palace has provided us with one of the best experiences in a new country. We came as a family of 7 with one baby. The staff have been very helpful, kind, and even taken the time to support us with a Nut allergy. I would like to specially mention, Hasan Gűnay, Firat Seuen and Aden Topaz have taken the time to get to know us as a family and have especially made us feel welcome. These guys work so hard and it is clear to see, always checking us if we are okay, quite literally going above and beyond for us. We knew they were good characters when the baby also liked their company and interacted with them. The hotel has been wonderful to stay in, comfortable and plenty to do. The pools are always clean as well as poolside. Dinner has plenty of variety also. Outside there are snack bars where you can could get kebabs and ice cream. We came out of season so some aspects where still closed but there was still plentiful even in April. We was very lucky with weather and had plenty of sunshine. There is lots to do for all the family, plenty of water slides varying in their suitability. Also refreshing to be able to pop to the beach, and it’s part of the hotel, so poolside service is there too. All staff have been wonderful, making time for us, having a chat and even entertaining our baby. We truly have had a pleasant experience here. Our baby has loved the baby discos before the evening entertainment , and having a paddle in the pools. We have had the gym, and found that a lovely clean space to workout most mornings. While not affiliated with the hotel itself the people coming in to sell excursions have been helpful and reassuring so we have had a few lovely experiences out and about including a city tour, and a Jeep safari. We also had a wonderful photographer who captured our lovely family moments.

Well run hotel

First visit to this hotel, staff all very friendly in restaurants, by pool and in reception. Very well run hotel. Plenty sun beds, pool water cold due time year. Pier bar opened this week and outside restaurant. Spa lovely large pool and jacuzzi. Entertainment staff fun and make good effort. Food lots choice in main restaurant always something good.
