The obvious that nobody seems to point out - this hotel is an average standard place dedicated to young party goers on a budget and with low expectations. It’s not a family friendly resort! Split into two parts: Alleged family relaxed part - don't even let them allocate you there! Potentially between the staff members, this part of the hotel is called ''hell''. Steep stairs designed specifically for brave parents carrying pushchairs and little children falling over stone maze of many levels of steep stairs and paths. Family rooms so called relaxed rooms are consisting of one bed and benches, bench is acting as additional sleeping for a child, even teenagers. But the biggest issue is the rooms are ABSOLUTELY STINKING of sewage and mould! Rooms are dirty, nasty, infested with ants. The swimming pool in that part of the hotel is a deep 1.6m and above all round. Dedicated for your Olympic little swimmers, even adults struggled to stay afloat, let alone saving little children. Dont let me start on the beach hoovered by wild, dinosaur sized dogs and constant screaming pass by sellers, you get also camped people that don't belong to the hotel but stay on the beds. Second part of the hotel: Few steps away is disco pool, playing dated Turkish music on a loop because they don't have a DJ, that pool is actually bearable depth of 1.4m but covered with young people, who don't really appreciate families there. And a beach consisting of 90% of cigarette buds before the sand, with breeze of stinky sewage smell. Run down toilets covered in dirt. If you drunk 247 you propably won’t notice. Rooms in that part of hotel are more modern, nothing 5 star range, but not as bad as in the ''hell'' part. Food: Most items are cold so I agree with people before me! Uncooked chicken still wet and pink inside. Pastas - 6 types of pasta but nothing for a topping. Reused and recycled dishes of low quality, overall kept cheap. Plain and bland, let’s be honest. Chips for breakfast, lunch, dinner, all round. Very low budget, low quality as well. Deserts had sand stones in them! You cannot make this up! Breakfast every day the same, eggs, chips, bread, cereal was stale, milk was off. Lunch: pastas of 5-6 types, chips, chicken cubes in some souse, it was horrible, otherwise the same salads. Dinner: identical like a lunch, the same just in different order. Drinks: Drinks had this off taste, i have tried few cocktails and they were all tasting off that bitter weird end taste, I can not describe. Sewage smelling drinks, just stick to water bottles! No real coffee available - just watered down from the machine, if the machine is working. Staff: Very reluctant to serve, always rolling eyes, if asked for a coffee told coffee machine broken, if asked for shakes, the same machine broken. Grumpy faces all around. The reception staff is aggressive, rude, bad approach. The only nice staff member was Mustafa from reception. The rest including the manager absolute shame! In one instance when came asking for some information I was being met with two women, giggling and laughing while I was still talking, I can only imagine they were under influence or just so immature there is no other way! Curfew: There was curfew at 7pm, you would be asked to go back to hotel! Closing down the beach, throwing you out of the pool, if you don’t come out the security will be standing and waiting until you go - no fun. If you got a deckchair with your personal belongings on it, they will drag it out in front of you when 7pm clicks in. Midnight or before that they are closing the fridges with water bottles with a padlock. Keep extra bottles for your hotel fridge or take bottles from the dining area that’s the only way to survive! Cleanliness: Cleaning people do great job, but they are not everywhere and only cover small amount of spaces let alone cover hotel 247 as people make mess. There were two or three cleaning staff for entire hotel, they were lovely, but i don't blame them, they can't do entire hotel, hence it was dirty. Understaffed on cleaning workers, that was very visible. Overall the place is sadly filthy. Cockroaches in bar areas spotted few times on the family pool bar, including in the reception bar in the ''fancy'' lounge. They kept smacking cockroach in front of me, while I was waiting for a coffee, the one that they later told me, the machine is broken. Night entertainment: Dedicated mainly for Russian children, ''chioo chioo waaa'', kids songs on a loop, that no kids except Russians knew. They should put some more popular tunes that everyone knows. Every day the same, no change. Very repetitive and boring. Over one week being there there was only one dance show, and the rest was karaoke for members of staff, nobody was talking part, atmosphere was flat. Turkish songs of corse. Location: Gambet is a party village, filled with pubs and discos one on top of another. Shopping is expensive and extortionate, it’s not a place for that matter, prices are 3-5 times higher than Istanbul. You could tell the place is dead, people are desperate for business, hungry for money and rude. The hotel beach connects with 10 other hotels, so you can experience bit of each of the hotel, there is no border. In fact Royal is so boring at night after dinner, that is worth walking pass to another hotels next door to at least sit down by the beach and listen to some music, have a drink. Royal didn't have anything going on, because all they did after the dinner was pack everyone to the bus and drop them 200 meters further to the disco. At the same time back in the hotel was flat out atmosphere and boring. While other hotels next door were really pleasant. The good news is that the bus going to Bodrum stops on the corner of the hotel, 30 lira per adult, children for free, approx 15 min bus ride and operates back and forward till 1.00am. Is the hotel in some picturesque area of Bodrum? No! Not really, the view you will get it plainly of other hotels around you. The real deal Bodrum hotels are situated completely elsewhere, Gambet is more low standard, visibly poor conditions, with unpleasant service.
