Before staying at this resort we were concerned reading all the negative reviews and went there with a very open mind, leaning toward negativity. But, oh, how wrong the reviews were! The rooms were spotless, the staff helpful and efficient, the beach beautiful. The gardens were well manicured and the pools sparkling. We thought there was something to fault in the cuisine...but there again, no problems! Healthy options, salads, casseroles, fish dishes and delicious desserts as well as some local (Turkish) dishes. The beds were spacious and supportive as were the gorgeous pillows. Our bedroom was a specifically quiet one, facing the gardens, on the 4h floor. The resort has 2 hotels, the smaller Beach hotel and the one we stayed at the Royal Asarlik Hotel and Spa next door. All the facilities are for any guest to use and we found the pools at the smaller hotel were quieter. There was a very nice local lady rolling flat bread dough and cooking them as you ordered at the pool. Every night there was live entertainment at the larger hotel with its stage. Turkish dancing and Karaoke as well as Themed nights...golden oldies night, rock and roll etc.

We stayed from 20th October, And had a fantastic time , staff where friendly helpful , rooms clean and comfortable and quiet. Food was different at every meal which was great for us food is also available 24/7 , after reading some bad reviews about the bar staff I am shocked the barman in the open top restaurant was fantastic we watched him very busy dealing politely with a lot of people , I can’t fault the staff at all at this resort from the cleaners to the lifeguard all friendly and helpful. The hotel has lots to offer , we used the spa one afternoon and enjoyed that too. The water sports on the beach was fantastic we tried wake boarding and the jet skis , Entertainment in the evenings changed each nite and has posters up each morning to let you know what and where. The pools and beach have plenty of sun beds. We walked into Bodrum town to visit the windmills on the hill ( free to visit) , you can see these from the hotel , then on to Bodrum castle well worth a visit , we then walked to the Bodrum Ancient Theatre it’s signposted from the town well worth the visit it’s in great condition and free to visit. We got a taxis back to hotel worked out at about £7.00 We met our holiday rep one morning as they put a slip though the door about arranging transfers this was pointless and felt it was just to sell us trip excursion as the hotel print the the transfers for you and have it waiting on the day you leave. We did book the off road buggy ride with the rep and it was enjoyable but when we got there we had to wait for another two buses to arrive then wait around for everyone to sign and go through everything, was to many on the activity couldn’t get up much speed so alot different to other off road activities. We are already looking to come with our children this time.

Horrid Hotel

This hotel must be the worst hotel out there for a 5* I would say 3* just. The food is cold and not nice. We arrived on the 21st Oct and most things had closed on the 15th. Hotel room needed a good clean and updated, shower and bathroom gross. Around the pool and restaurant needed a good clean and a coat of paint everywhere. Put me off ever going back to Turkey. Stray dogs running around the hotel barking all night.

Avoid this place if you’re a person of colour. I’m currently staying at this hotel, and the experience has been appalling. When I went to order a drink at the bar, the barman ignored me, even though I was next in line, and served a white man who arrived after me. Thankfully, the man pointed out I was first, but the staff’s blatant racism is impossible to ignore. Later, a different barman asked me if I was Arab, and when I said I wasn’t, he openly stated that he hates Arabs. It doesn’t end there. My friend went to the bar and was next in line, but yet another barman served a white woman who arrived after her. This kind of treatment is happening with multiple staff members. On top of that, they’re incredibly rude—rolling their eyes when asked for anything and constantly glued to their phones. During lunch, the staff stare at you as you fill your plate, whispering among themselves, making the entire experience uncomfortable. The food is cold and mediocre at best, and the rooms are outdated. This is not a 5-star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. This is my sixth time in Turkey, and I usually fall in love with the hotels and staff, leaving with sadness. But I can’t wait to leave this place—it’s been a truly awful experience.

Blatant Racism

I don't understand how this is a 5* hotel. Pro's: * None Cons: * the rooms are outdated * shower is outdated * staff are unfriendly * staff are blatantly racist to people that are of colour * Bar tenders will ignore when asking for a drink and serve white people over you, regardless of being there before them * rooms are not well lit * kitchen staff stare and look at how much food you are putting * Food is repetitive * Most staff do not speak English, which i can understand, as English is not their first language, however, this does not mean that they have to be dismissive and rude I was very disappointed with my stay here, I experienced first hand racism and were even told by a bartender that he did not like Arabs. I was greeted with 'Namastay' only because I am South Asian even after asking the bartender not to say this. Unless, you are white, you will not get a quality service from this place.
