Just returned from the Rixos bodrum for 2 weeks with my older kids and wife. I have been to many Rixos hotels and never had reason to complain as all were very good hotels and I have Rixos Sharlm booked next year so loyal to the brand. The hotel is not up to the usual standard I would expect from a premium 5 star hotel. Unbelievably all al carte restaurants were shut, from MID SEPTEMBER. Leaving us to dine in one buffet restaurant for our 2 weeks stay. If I had known this I would not have wasted a small fortune and booked the titanic bodrum, as stayed there previously. Off course I questioned the hotel management, the answer why only restaurant open, it’s out of season. I have been going to turkey in October for the last 10 years and have never experienced a 5 star premium hotel with only 1 restaurant available for dinner. To make matters worse the hotel was very busy during our stay. The buffet Restaurant could not cope with capacity and was so busy between 7-8pm it was hard to get a table inside or out and for 4 days had to move tables and chairs to seat us. It spoilt dining for dinner most nights. The staff were run ragged and service was poor, I poured my own wine as no waiter noticed my gestures for 5 Minutes. I spoke to the hotel manager and complained that the main restaurant could not handle the capacity during 7-8 pm peak dinning time to be told I know I agree. Absolutely preposterous. The rooms were dated and showing there age we stayed in deluxe suite, the TV had no English channels and no smart app function 10 years out of date… I would not normally watch TV but the hotel had very little entertainment. A singer every night at 9.30pm… whoopee… No mini golf, no boccia, No table tennis, no pool or snooker, no cinema room, no bowling no games room, the tennis courts were out dated and in need of repair. Literally noting to do other than the gym… Rixos you need to sort out the entertainment as it the worst I have experienced. On top of that the lobby area where the music is played at 9.30pm has not got enough seating so again no tables available unless you reserve from 8.30pm. The beach again got very crowded and the bar service was pretty much non existent, if you wanted a drink you had to get it yourself 9/10 times. Plus points of the hotel… Grounds are lovely and well Kept and the scenery is beautiful. Check in was friendly and comfortable with hot towels. The food quality is good and generally well prepped and displayed. The hotel is very clean and the rooms cleaning was good. Drinks and wine good choice The patisserie very nice and good chocolates. Good choice of ice creams. The spa clean and sauna and steam good facility. Bad points… Coffee hit and miss especially at breakfast no coconut milk and syrups and the coffee house next to gym was closed Buffet Food can be the same each night very repetitive Cocktails at the beach bars are hit and miss, lobby bar can make a cocktail, but ran out of single malt whiskey after our first week. The beach bar ran out of baileys and the ice cream freezer only had 2 types of ice creams for 3 days. The service at the beach is almost non existent if you are half way down the beach… don’t expect a drink. Would I stay at this Rixos again… no… certainly not in September or October… not value for money and not premium 5 *. I would stay at he voyage at Torba or the titanic bodrum, similar price but better hotels.
