This was our honeymoon from hell. My jewellery was stolen from my room after our safe wasn’t working. The manager was very condescending and unsympathetic, implying that because we did not inform the staff of the faulty safe, I deserved to have my personal belongings stolen from my bag in my locked room at a 4 star hotel. She told me to "check my underwear". I asked her to phone the police which she did and then we had to go to the station to file a report. The next day, she told me it was her idea to call the police and when I replied that she only called them because I asked her to, she told me I was lying, but her member staff witnessed our original conversation and I confirmed with this staff member that I was the one to ask her to call the police. I had been gifted the necklace about 10 days previously by my MIL as a wedding gift. The next day, the manager left a note in our room telling me to contact reception, obviously this gave me hope that the necklace had been returned. Instead, the manager wanted to confront me about a review that I had written before my necklace was taken, which I had since deleted, knowing I would need to write a new one. I told her that obviously when I saw the note that I had thought that she had found my necklace and she laughed and said no and tried to talk about the deleted review. I told the manager that her reaction to jewellery being stolen in her hotel was very surprising as it meant that either her staff had stolen it or someone broke into the premises and into our room and stole our belongings, both very serious situations, to which she responded that she would call the police on me if I accused her staff. I repeated what I said, and said I am not accusing your staff, you told me they are the only ones with access to my room, so I am saying it was either them or a thief who broke into your hotel and both scenarios are bad. She responded again by threatening to call the police on me if I was accusing her staff, the most insane reaction I could imagine from the manager of a hotel whose guest had just had items stolen from their room. The fact that our room had a faulty safe and was the only room targeted seems extremely suspicious. Our room was in block B which is a second structure behind the main hotel that they do not tell you about upon booking. The corridors are loud, we could hear people talking and shouting at nighttime and doors slamming. On our last night, people were knocking on our door and running away. On our second last day, our dirty towels were removed but we were not given new clean ones. Our WiFi didn’t work for half a day and when I told a member of staff, he said “yes the WiFi is not very good in block B, it works here” (referring to the main building). There is an "emergency light" over the door to the room that could not be switched off so we had to sleep 5 nights with it on. We did not have hot water one day, we got rained on and came back cold and wet to the hotel and both had to have cold showers. I told the same staff member I informed about the WiFi and he said yes because block B’s hot water operates off solar panels and it had been cloudy, there was no hot water that day. This is not a Radisson hotel, do not come here. Absolutely horrible management and unsafe premises. I am taking my complaint to the Radisson group.
