Great time in Mexico.

Flew Sunwing. Horrible crowded aeroplane But did arrive on time. Cancún airport very easy didn’t take long going through. Checking in at hotel was fast and easy. Room large and bed very comfortable. One thing you have to do is lock yout patio door at night we had a hairy visitor during the night no problem getting him out lots of Coti Slept on our chairs outside every night. Hotel is very big bigger than what we are used to but they are electric carts that are on the go all the time to take you where you want to go. We found walking was better lots of exercise and see the animals which there are lots of. Coti monkeys deer iguanas all kinds of birds. No problem getting chairs at the beach. The beach itself is beautiful but watch for rocks in the water it is quite rocky. Was quite windy when we were there so waves were high and red flagged. Food was great something for everyone the roast beef was awesome. lineup in the morning for breakfast is for reserving alacarte restaurants just walk right in for breakfast. We found the buffet was just as good as the alacarte. Personally I love Mexico the people are great very friendly and not pushy like some other destinations.

Large resort. Great staff. Not many options for vegetarians. Booking system for restaurant needs improvement...waiting in line while on vacay is no good. Japanese restaurant did not have enough for vegetarians...could not get seconds of desert or sushi. Lots of activities. Avoid beach it is rocky and full of seaweed. Better than planet Hollywood Cancun where there was a long line for everything and no late night options to dine.

Disappointing experience - under staffed and inexperienced

Overall a disappointing experience. Paid for the Privilege status and a junior suite. Food was adequate though the buffet was often crowded with long lines. The specialty restaurants were hit and miss. Beach was nice though small. The main problem was the resort was understaffed and it very much felt like the staff that were there were very new to their jobs. Waiters who had no idea how to take an order. Lots of broken and unmaintained chairs and such. No water pressure so it was completely impossible to use the provided Jacuzzi tub (unless you have 8 hours to fill it). We had a butler with our rooms. She messed up our reservations multiple times. Forgot to book a spa appointment. Was unable to help at all for about half the (very simple) requests though she did try her best - she just wasn't up to it. At one point we went to dinner and needed to use one of our napkins to clean up some spilled water. We asked for another one and were told they have none. They had exactly enough napkins for the people dining and not one extra. That or our waiter had no idea where to get one - either option is possible. There was a spot for a pool concierge but it was almost always abandoned. There were upgrade coupons for our meals - they forgot to give them to us. They couldn't give us a key for the lockers in the spa because they had lost them and didn't know how to rekey the lockers. Etc. It really felt like a bunch of very inexperienced (and insufficient) staff running by the seat of their pants.
