Official Description

Sitting on the private island of Olhuveli in the Maldives, this tropical haven offers a quiet private retreat to all of its guests. A short 40-minute seaplane ride from Male International Airport will take them from the busy airport to a place where they can relax and have an amazing vacation. As soon as they arrive they can head to the private beach area or enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool. The spa centre is the place where one can pamper his/hers body and de-stress the mind, while those who enjoy some activities can check with the private butlers for guided snorkelling or fishing trips. The romantically inclined guests can opt for a sunset cruise followed by a dinner at the overwater restaurant which serves fresh seafood and premium wines.

Amongst the best Resorts in Maldives.

We book this Resort trusting Minor reputation standards and we couldn’t do better . Quality of the Villas and service in it was superlative, nothing is never a trouble. 2 islands to choose from in the same resort plenty of sport activities from surfing to tennis and despite the island is busy you feel very few guests are in. A good F&B choice of Restaurant and bars to choose from , great quality of breakfast . Cherry on the cake is their Asian concept Nest Restaurant on top of their strangle figa trees , simply OUTSTANDING. Buffet Restaurant choice could improve but still good quality to be in Maldives . P.S. just remove Russian translation in the buffet tags… not very elegant as Maldives is not a Russian territory. Villa are kept very well , very well equipped nothing is missing or needed. The service throughout the island is excellent , competence and professionalism could be felt in any corner with any encounter , even the coconut boy is a great surprise. Niyama is the only Island in Maldives that offers fresh coconut free of charge to its guests… smart idea Congrats to the Management of the Island to keep a great spirit amongst employees and guests . All in All one of the best Resorts in Maldives.

Great resort, not too big, not too small. Thakuru’s Mellisa & Madi were fantastic, every whim & wish granted immediately. The islands are very lush with vegetation, paths & beaches are top notch. We had 3 sunset side overwater bungalows for 3 couples. Overwater Bungalows are huge & well appointed. Lagoon is very shallow below overwater bungalows unfortunately - no ocean swimming. Bungalow infinity pool & spa very nice however! Some maintenance needed in bungalows to be 5 star, No complaints though, Blimin nice! Great buffet restaurants for breakfast & dinner, huge & tasty in- room dining menu. Destination restaurants ok. Surf break looks great peeling point, flat when we were there January - go mid year for surf. I’ve been to Kandooma, better waves at Kandooma or pasta point; but Niyama is a much nicer resort for your family. I am an experienced scuba diver. Float staff at Niyama were fantastic, nice dive boat, good divemaster to diver ratio. Small group introduction PADI for my newbies. Nitrox for me & they let me check the O2%. If you are a diver: Niyama House snorkel reefs are uninspiring, Boat scuba dives are a bit better. Caveat: I’ve been spoiled by living in north Western Australia (Abrolhos islands & Ningaloo), then 3 trips to W maldives (inside north ari attol. Amazing diving. Overall, Niyama is fantastic for a high quality family holiday it is very special. W for us as a couple again next time as a choice if we can afford it again!

From far my best holiday in Maldives. The island is big, offering a lot of different activities. Melissa, our butler (or how they call it Thakuru) was AMAZING. Helping us with all our request and even going above our expectations. We also had a really great waitress, Anne, over the stay, and could find her in each restaurant we were going. She would remember us and our preferences, offering us an incredible experience each time.

We had a very good time in niyama. The island was the most beautiful island I have ever been on, extraordinary vegetation and amazing set up of restaurants and amenities. The staff were all really friendly and super helpful. Especially recommend the coconut killer, he makes the best coconut and is always in a positive mood. Najje the ping pong master was also a great guy and it was super fun to play sports with him. Pritesch was our favourite guy, such a sweet and kind person. Always loved seeing him at breakfast and dinner. The diving was also great, especially when exploring the underwater world with Achyuth. A big thanks to everyone else aswell and we are looking forward to coming back 🤙
