When a business includes in its mission statement: “……every Nimbus guest is worthy of nothing but the best.” You know it’s setting the bar very high for itself and understandably, customer’s expectations too, with that in mind, it’s clearly disappointing when actual reality doesn’t meet expectation, after all, it’s all about the detail. Finding mould stains, flaked floor paint within the shower area and a bathroom sink plug with a build-up waste came as a big surprise, basic house keeping management would identity and address these issues as a matter of course, within any well run establishment. If you set your main point of differentiation as : “…every Nimbus guest is worthy of nothing but the best”, then detail matters. It’s not as though the unit is short of local competition, the adjacent Obsession hotel and the nearby Rockabella and Destino Pacha, with their spectacular sunset view, as examples. Anyway, specific issues raised with the Nimbus front desk staff was were received with an immediate defensive attitude, which was disappointing and frustrating. End of session fatigue was evident throughout the hotel and really showed, with a general lack of maintenance and active management. On the plus side, food was generally of a good standard with a well presented buffet breakfast with some including and payable options. There’s a couple of restaurants near the hotel, adjacent to a small beach, which are better. The small pool area overlooks a road and the subsequent waft of petrol fumes and loud quad bikes speeding past becomes a drag after a while. The hotel tries to drown the noise out with music, with limited success. In conclusion, there are better hotels in the area, which are worth a look.
