Great lunch and lovely pool

My family visited the hotel to have the buffet lunch and use the swimming pool. We had visited 5 years ago and our return visit didn’t disappoint. The buffet lunch was extensive and delicious- the best food from our trip around Sri Lanka. There were lovely salads for starters, lots of Sri Lankan, Asian and Western options for main course and lots of desserts although we were too full to truly appreciate them unfortunately. After lunch we used the swimming pool for the afternoon and the swimming pool is great. It is a medium size but it is better than the pictures look as it is nice and warm and there are shallow bits/ledges where you can lie and rest. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at the hotel with great food, fantastic customer service and a lovely pool. We would recommend a visit as it is the best hotel in the area. Will visit again - hopefully sooner than in 5 years though!

Serenity in cosmopolitan Colombo

We had a very nice stay in the hotel. Food was excellent and wide ranging. Sceneary including the beach was mind boggling.Guest services and staff very comfortable. In particular the guest services manager Tashani was extra courteous. Colonial style buildings are an attraction.

A Classic Place with a Classic Story and manned by Classy Staff

The property is gorgeous set in the classical british style. Large chambers, banquets and dining halls with high ceilings and grand staircases. All the rooms have a lovely sea view (it is literally at your window) with a lot of roaring sound of the waves of the Indian Ocean Staff is simply outstanding, overly friendly & polite - be it the bell captains, the doorman Mr. Vijesinghe, the waitressed (all of them have a gleeful smile from ear to ear and welcome you with such warmth). Special thanks to our hostess Ms. Tashani and the entire management of the Hotel (Mr. Anura, Ms Danushi) I was made to feel like it was home. Service of the housekeeping, laundry was outstanding..... And the food cuisine out of the world. The Sri Lankan food is the most amazing. The buffet changes every day with one day being Indian, British, Australian , US and the breakfast spread is awesome. The Gym and Spa is good too Overall a great place to be pampered with the love and hospitality of the staff. Great value for money.

Worst Hotel In Sri Lanka

Only positive point - the location. Other than that i cant understand any positive reviews about this hotel. Dirty and no guest service. checked in late at 23:00 on the 23.3.25. The hallway to the room was full of service trays from other rooms with left over food/bottles/cans. Ok, some guest partied till late. Same trays found next day morning at 9:00. Room: Dirty, mould in bathroom, ceilings and walls. AC loud and not cooling (managed a few hours sleep with ear plugs). Cabinets, carpets, even bedsheets with stains. Security lock missing. Hallway ceiling water leakages. List can go on. Booked for 2 nights and checked out first morning. Reception claimed that only booking.com can refund the second night (full payment was requested at check in). Since then hotel doesnt reply to any message/email. not even to the request for an invoice copy. neither they reply to requests from booking.com. STAY AWAY. Oldest hotel? Colonial Style? Most likely that was the last time they renovated, cleaned and trained the staff.

Best Service ever

I met Tashani the Guest Service manager who was so helpful telling me whatever I need happy or un happy please let her know. I am so please about the service here but most is Tashani who is the one who explained to me and guiding me all service here. I am very pleased to meet her, and I am Shure that many people will have the good experience like me in this hotel with good food nice view and excellent well come. I would talk to my friend how I am pleased to get a lovely guest service manager it really completed my trip.
