Mitsis Summer Palace

Absolutely awful for the money we paid. RESTAURANTS Den bbq restaurant left all the meat behind the bar in silver trays so by the time the chicken reached us it had that disgusting off smell. The steak was the only decent thing. Our bbq didn’t turn on for ages and kept having to be messed with. The fresco bar was horrible and everything was drenched in olive oil. The buffet was THE WORST buffet I have ever come across (mirrors something you’d get in Benidorm etc) The med and brunch at the med were passable. The pizza from the bar by the main pool was amazing and the best thing about the place. Dusk restaurant was also lovely. We ended up going out into Kardamena and having our tea out about 3/4 times as we couldn’t stand the food any longer. DRINKS The cocktail menu looked amazing when researching our holiday and was half the reason we chose summer palace but in reality every drink was disgusting to the point I had to see what was behind the bar and ask them to mix a few things to make anything drinkable (I asked them to use the strawberry and elderflower syrups with gin and lemonade). All the alcohol was so cheap tasting. They never provided water anywhere except the room in large bottles. Every other all inclusive I’ve ever been to have had fridges around with water in or bottles at restaurants, here you just get poured a glass from a large bottle. ROOM The room was quite nice and didn’t have any complaints except we seen a few ants as other people had mentioned but it weren’t awful. POOLS The main pool was awful to get a bed at you’d have to be up around 6:30 and the other pools around were a bit easier to get a bed. Overall they were ok but lots of tiles broken and chipped etc, didn’t feel very clean. STAFF Most of the staff were lovely so no complaints there. The people restocking the fridges and maids etc were all very nice, friendly and helpful people. Receptionists were nice along with the waiting and bar staff. Overall we were severely disappointed for the money we had paid but would like to go back to kardamena self catering in future as there are lots of nice places to eat in the centre.

Where to begin with this review of the delightful Mitsis Summer Palace. Check-in/Reception Team Our arrival was met with a warm welcome from the Reception team. Check-in was seamless and we were provided with information (including a map of the resort) of this gorgeous resort. The team were very attentive, noticing our 6 year old son who was travelling with us. They gave him a complimentary wooden toy set. This was a very nice touch! A member of the concierge team helped us with our luggage. Restaurants, Bars & Buffet The resort’s restaurants are all very lovely. Each one offering a unique dining experience and selection of food/drinks. Our favourite was The Den BBQ. The resorts main buffet offers a lovely selection of food. The drink offering throughout the bars of the resort is very good! For daytime relaxation, Fresco Bar is a great place to sit and have a drink. There’s gorgeous views of the island from there. Also this is next to a number of the luxury pools the resort has to offer. We had brunch at the gorgeous suspended Nests! This is well worth it if you want to add a dinning experience with a difference to your stay. They also offer a private BBQ in the Nests. Room We stayed in the Double Sea View Room which featured a gorgeous balcony. The views are spectacular. The room is equally gorgeous, light and airy with modern decor. Entertainment & Family Amenities It’s hard to fault this resort. However, there is room for improvement particularly with regard to the entertainment offering and amenities for families with children. Although the resort does have entertainment, we found it ok. The resort could improve this by having more captivating performers etc. When it comes to amenities for families with young children the resort is sadly very lacking. There does not seem to be much deigned with children in mind. Although the resort is marketed to include families it felt more like a luxurious adults only resort (even though it is not advertised as such). We made enquiries with the reception team about this and they advised that the neighbouring Mitsis sister hotels would be the best place(s) to go for child focused amenities. There is no extra charge for accessing the facilities. The resort has a shuttle service which operates between the hotel and children’s pool at (Mitsis Family Palace). This became our daytime base. The pool features slides and is great for all the family to relax. There is a bar which serves soft drinks, ice-cream and a selection of alcoholic beverages for the grown ups. The only slight criticism about this pool is that on all the occasions we were there, there was no lifeguard in sight. House keeping No holiday is complete without the housekeeping team. The team at Summer Palace were brilliant! Our room always looked amazing every time we got back from the day’s activities! A massive thank you to the team who look after us! Overall Overall our experience at Mitsis Summer Palace was fantastic. It’s a gorgeous resort! All the staff are friendly and very welcoming! Apart from our comments regarding the entertainment and amenities for families with children - it’s well worth the visit!

My wife and I went in May 2023 not 2024 as could not select 2023, this was our first time on an overseas holiday in over 10 years as we have a young large family and is hard to get away. Our trip started off amazingly at the airport with the free of charge shuttle bus to the hotel. This is a great addition to the hotel as its quick and easy and the driver was very friendly. The hotel had just opened for the season and this did show a little in regards to the restaurant offerings in particular on the beach front but non the less the food choice in the main hotel were great. The all inclusive package on the drinks were vast and plenty of great cocktails to try. One of the highlights was the plunge pool in our room and is certainly worth the extra if your looking at upgrading. The staff were all very kind and friendly and we would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone that asked. There is a bus that comes up to the hotel and goes into town and is very reasonably priced and well worth the trip out. We liked the area and the resort so much we have decided to book this year our first family holiday overseas and stay in the same resort at the Family Village hotel. My rating reflects the fact that some of the options were limited as it was the first day of the season and whilst I do 100% understand this I felt the hotel could have prepared better as the opening of the season is the same every year. None the less would highly recommend the hotel and resort. Keep up the great work and fingers crossed our family visit is just as successful.

I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough to anyone having doubts over whether it’s worth it. This was our second time visiting this year, and we were given a great room with a beautiful view for our 14-day stay. The room was cleaned and the mini bar restocked on a daily basis. The quiet and breathtaking views from every angle made for a perfect stay, and there was a tasty and varied selection of food from different cuisines. I’d highly recommend the Dusk and Mediterranean à la carte restaurants. The staff themselves were always professional and willing to go out of their way to help with no issues with communicating in English. We’d particularly like to thank Artur and Mario (the bar man) who not only worked extremely hard, but always offered a speedy and accurate service, with a smile on their faces at all times. We felt really spoiled thanks to them. I’m sure we’ll be back again soon.
