The hotel is not 5 star, the service and food are massively sub standard and a huge let down to the hotel. It’s very much a case of style over substance. 1 - The Staff The hotel is clearly under staffed. I’ve never received such bad service by so many staff. I know it’s the end of the season and they are probably very tired however we have paid a considerable amount of money to stay with you for 10 days and expect a certain level of service. Many of them are using phones, chatting between themselves, not putting guest first, we often felt like an inconvenience. We have stood and waited to be seated in your smaller restaurants and been ignored for up to 10 minutes. Some of them are very rude, in one case at the upper pool bar one of your male staff members was addressing guests as tourists, saying ‘next tourist what do you want?’ How disrespectful! When we checked in after a very long journey with two very tired young children, (George) was abrupt and very rude, he told my children off rather unkindly for putting a glass on the reception desk, not a great first impression. I ordered a cake for my daughters 7th birthday and it never came. I did this on the app, I had visual confirmation and they said the order didn’t come through. They said they would bring it the following day but nothing ever came. I wrote several emails to your hotel before we arrived to ensure she was made to feel special on her birthday, but nothing happened. 2 - Food The Creperie It is really grotty and unclean, the staff looked as though everything was too much trouble. The floors were dirty, food under the tables, staff standing about not cleaning up. The food took ages to come, there should be a take away option. Not everyone wants to spend an hour sitting and eating a crepe. The Ice cream you are serving is super cheap quality, (in fact my daughter vomited after eating it one day) the chocolate tastes like strawberry. It’s that bad. There is only one ice cream outlet dispite there being two pool areas, you should be serving in both areas. It baffles me how the pool nearest to the kids club and splash park has no ice cream outlet. We attempted to buy packaged ice creams in the shop in the lobby but the freezer has been turned off and emptied. It’s like the hotel can’t wait for the season to be done and all the the guests to go home! Buffet restaurant The whole experience is like feeding time at the zoo. We absolutely hated it. Never enough plates, everyone queing and shoving and so congested. Healthy options are lacking at breakfast, no nuts or seeds, limited fruit selection and again no fresh juices or smoothies. Nothing replenished until it has totally run out. Generally everything is very poor quality. Drinks Juices served are cheap. Drinks everywhere offer such poor options for children, nothing pure at all, artificial fruit juices, water or fizzy options, not healthy at all. Everytime I ask for water they poor tap unless I specify bottled and the staff are put out by having to do that. Regularly they run out of many options. I ordered a Prosecco in the main lobby bar and it came in a wine glass with ice, it’s like the bar staff haven’t been trained. Each time you ask for a cocktail you are informed it isn’t available or they have limited options. Burger restaurant The oven baked mac and cheese was squirty cheese and a handful of grated popped in the microwave with pre cooked pasta, nothing oven baked about it. I watched it being constructed. We waited an hour and a half to get a table and our food. The worst thing was that I had not only a piece of bone and lots of gristle in my burger but also a tube which was like a large vain, it was repulsive. Again this goes back to lack of care and effort and poor quality ingredients. Pan Asian This restaurant served maggi instant noodles, the salmon fillet was so dry it was probably left over from the previous day. The sushi was terrible, the evening we went they ran out of avocado and replace it with pineapple in all of the sushi which was awful. Italian At the Italian they didn’t have many options available including the only fish options on the menu sole or the tuna carpaccio, it seems like the more expensive options are always off the menu. We hired a car and at additional expense ate out at tavernas on the days we had it so that we could enjoy some good quality Greek food on our holiday.
