Amazing stay. Very friendly people who works here! Kalipso and the rest of the staff at the kids pool bar are amazing. Also the rest of the people. Recommend mitsis alila with the great food, drinks, nice and clean rooms and friendly people. We’re coming back!

Good but not good enough !!!!!!

First impression was wow ! Reception lovely. Reception staff welcoming We booked family room with private pool. The room was disappointing. As you can see from photos. Bathroom mould and damage. Public hair left on toilet when we arrived and handprints all over the sliding doors in the bedroom. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed ever !!! It sagged in the middle giving both of us lower back ache for the week. The pillows had no stuffing in them. We asked for extra pillows and the cleaners took them back the next day. The noise in the corridor at night and morning was horrendous so barely any sleep. One of the bar staff ( he has tattoos on his neck ) was very rude a few times. Once when we went to the bar at 6:30 pm and pulled out the stool under the bar to sit down he said “ do it quietly “ WTF !!! How can I sit down without pulling a stool out. and another time ignored my husband when waiting for a drink and served others in front. He just had an arrogance about him Our own personal pool has sooooo much salt in it stung our eyes so we didn’t go in there after the once. The positives Reception staff were welcoming and the hotel brought my son a birthday cake to the room which was nice. ( at my request )! One of the evening bar staff ( young guy ) was funny and friendly Main restaurant staff pleasant and hard working. The evening entertainment was very good. The food was also very good. And great selection Weather was great. Provided water bottles and beach bag which was a great touch. All in all was a little disappointed esp at the price we paid.

First impressions here are good. Big, imposing and modern looking building right on the beach front nine km or so out of Rhodes town centre. Staff are pleasant enough although nothing exceptional for what claims to be a five star resort hotel. Rooms are big and airy if a little dated on the decor front; think Ibiza 1999 and you’re just about on the mark. What really lets this place down in a big way though is its restaurants, or rather, trying to eat in any of its a la carte restaurants. Because unless you book ahead weeks in advance of your visit, you are unlikely to get into them anytime before 10 at night. Yes, really! Even then, you are restricted to dining in any of them more than once in any given seven day period. They are way too small for such a huge hotel and just cannot cope with the numbers. A pity as the food they offer in them is pretty good. Its alternative everyday buffet eaterie looks and feels like a canteen , certainly not worthy of a five star venue snd not where we wanted to eat night after night. When we complained, we were told to count ourselves as fortunate in having an a La carte booking at all no matter what time of the day/ night it was for. Appalling and certainly not what we expected from a venue of this alleged calibre!

A worthwhile experience

Great hospitality, very polite staff, a great variety of food. The room was big and comfortable and we enjoyed spending time in the jacuzzi overlooking the sea. Everything was clean and well-organised. I will definitely revisit Alila next year.

Restaurant booking is a shambles

Pros: Lovely hotel. We had a nice sea view room with a bath and separate shower. Very comfy bed. The staff are nice and work hard. There is handy bus stop for getting into Rhodes town. Cons: The hotel boasts 11 a la carte restaurants. This is misleading. There is a huge buffet restaurant, an a la carte Brunch Restaurant and only 3 other restaurants which I would class as a la carte. They are all small and you are only allowed to eat in them once per week. Booking is a nightmare if you haven’t organised this before you arrive. I stood in a queue for 1hr 50mins only to be told the lady had a meeting to go to so we had to tell her what we wanted and she would get back to us. The following day there was a note in our room giving us a booking for each restaurant with a date and time. Not ideal but fair enough. When we arrived at the Italian restaurant at the allotted time we were told there was no booking. We had only been waitlisted in case someone cancelled. 2 very unhappy diners. Apart from the large buffet restaurant I would class all the others as places to snack - eg grab a slice of pre-made pizza down at the beach. It’s nice enough but not a restaurant. You can queue up for a burger or chicken nuggets and chips but that’s not a restaurant either. I enjoyed the aqua fit class but it wasn’t on 2 days of our stay although it’s supposed to be 7 days. The champagne/wine bar is lovely but I’ve just had the worst Teauila Sunrise ever. Who makes it with diluting orange cordial? Yuck Would we stay again? Not unless they sort out the shambolic restaurant booking system. I don’t pay 5 star prices to eat in a cafeteria.
