A truly wonderful experience

31 Mar 2025
The experience at Milaidhoo was a delight. The villas are wonderful, and special mention to the staff, that was really special. A shout-out to Anth who took care of our villas while we were there and made sure our visit was smooth. I would recommend the hotel to all my friends.

Second time around - still fab!

28 Feb 2025
First time on Milaidho, back in February 2021, we were blown away and we always wanted to return. Now 4 years later we did for 7 nights in a water villa, coming from another resort with boat transfer. Arrival was nice, but somewhat forced. The RM seemed .... out of humour for some reason. Our island host Roxy, lovely young woman, took us to our room 116 (excellent position for snorkeling, sunset and view). The villa was fantastic and I happily noticed that they had put up some hooks for towels next to the shower. Food was a bit up and down. Breakfast excellent, Milaidhoo really shines here. Lunch was in Compass bar, delicious if more simple dishes and outstanding service from the staff. However, it is always a bit tricky eating at a bar table. The other lunch option this time around was something called Azure. An area to the left of the main restaurant OCEAN, mostly in the foliage and very hot. The menu was from OCEAN but honestly I do not think it is five star compatible to offer only one (in practice it was only one) lunch option and then in a bar, for a resort at this very high end level. I had looked forward to lunching at OCEAN at least half of the days. My guess is that this is due to few people eating lunch to skimp om´n expenses, but still, not ok. Batheli is a lovely setting, again excellent service and presentation but the food was ..not bad but lacking in taste a bit. Shoreline grill is where the culinary heaven is. Every single item we ordered was amazing, the service, the wines top notch! We did have dinner at Ocean a few nights and it was also very good. Oh, we also had a chef's table experience. Great food, not very much ambience, but again great service. Snorkeling around Milaidhoo is breathtaking. We altered between going straight in from our villa and getting in from 301 on the other side of the island. Stunning reef and fish life. Best in the Maldives so far (and we have visited many, many resorts). We were on gourmet plan and it is so relaxing but for one huge BUT. The mini bar is not included. They could easily have a special mini bar collection for people on GP including the same wines as in the GP. Again, considering the price tag this is a big no without any good reason. I strongly suggest you add this to GP. Staff were all lovely, kind and helpful. So many great people, especially our host Roxy! She went above and beyond in many ways. We were also lucky enough to run into Shuhan, legendary former GM. We also met the current GM Frank and he seems a nice enough man if maybe a bit rehearsed in his communication. ;-) We were so grateful for getting a late checkout from our villa and around 15.00 we left the island for Male and our international flight. We stayed in the Manta lounge for a few hours before being driven to the airport and checked in and all went very smoothly. I can absolutely recommend Milaidhoo, it is an outstanding resort in many ways and very small and harmonious, which we love. The price level does get in the way for us, unfortunately. I could pay but would I? I doubt it, I will gladly list all kinds of superlatives on this paradise pearl, but it is over priced, there is no getting around it. That being said I want to thank all the amazing staff, the Milaidhoo family, that pampered us during our lovely week! Big shout out to Roxy, keep watching the bat trees! ;-)

Simply the best…

28 Feb 2025
When it comes to small luxury hotels of the world, Milaidhoo Maldives is simply one of the best. This was our first visit to the Maldives and Milaidhoo exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we touched down at the international airport and were warmly greeted by the Milaidhoo arrival team, to our transport to/from the island (by seaplane and speedboat!), and throughout our week long stay, the attention to detail to every aspect of the guest experience is unmatched. The well maintained villas are large and luxurious, each with (larger than anticipated) private pools, and are designed in such a way to best maximize privacy. The dining exceptional. We sampled each restaurant during our stay. And whether you are looking to relax or take in the beauty and marine life of the Baa Atoll, Milaidhoo offers a wide array of activities for guests. Some of the best snorkeling is just steps from your villa. We enjoyed a spa day; took advantage of the complimentary paddle boards, kayaks and morning yoga sessions; and booked a personalized excursion to a private sandbank for the day complete with our own personal chef and host who served up a wonderful bbq meal. It was dreamy! Yet, it is the people of Milaidhoo that make the resort and who made our experience simply the best. It is why, we believe, guests return time and time again to this beautiful place. We met multiple couples during our stay who were there for the 2nd, 3rd, even 6th(!) time. The exceptional level of service, complimented by a warm and genuine familial like hospitality, is what we will remember most about our stay at Milaidhoo. And, what has us already dreaming about when we will return. To the exceptional team at Milaidhoo Maldives, we hope to see you soon!

Honeymoon in Paradise

28 Feb 2025
Honeymoon paradise! We have just left Milaidhoo after 9 days of sheer bliss! The accommodation was fantastic & kept in pristine condition by our room boy daily. We stayed in a beach villa & would highly recommend. The service in all of the restaurants and the bar at all times of day was fabulous, special shout out to our room host, Anth, who went above & beyond to ensure we had the best honeymoon from arranging beautifully decorated baths & beds, spa treatments, meals… the list goes on. A beautiful personalised painting was presented to us on our last night. Very special & we will treasure. Every meal from the superb breakfast buffet, seafood market, shoreline grill, Ba’Theli, ocean restaurant was all top level & the chefs are very passionate about the food they provide.

Amazing Resort - 6 Stars - Ask for Yenny as your Butler

28 Feb 2025
Amazing, amazing property and our butler/host, Yenny, is absolutely fantastic. I just arrived yesterday but everything has gone so well that I feel compelled to give 5 stars already. From the pickup to the reception to the checkin to the food to the reservations and lastly, to our butler and host Yenny, everything has been absolutely on point. The beauty of the property is breathtaking. The pools that are in each villa are the biggest I have ever had. The property is exclusive, meaning there will be times when it feels like you’re the only ones there. If you’re looking for a 6* Maldives Stay, pick Milaidhoo and ask for Yenny!

Tripadvisor Overview

Milaidhoo Maldives is a boutique luxury resort in the Baa Atoll UNESCO biosphere reserve, close to Hanifaru Bay, 126km north west of Male. It's perfect for nature lovers as its own coral reef, which completely circles the island, is a protected area and noted as an outstanding snorkelling and diving site in its own right. The tiny beautiful island, abundant with tropical greenery, measures just 300 mby 180m and is fringed by white soft deep sand beaches. Designed for couples and honeymooners, Milaidhoo welcomes guests aged nine and above. Offering barefoot informality, each of the 50 spacious air-conditioned villas has its own private freshwater pool on the sundeck and opens up 180 degrees to allow the natural beauty of the island into the villa. Clever design ensures all villas have ocean views. The custom-made furnishings and thoughtful designs are Maldivian inspired, from natural wooden floor to the thatched roof all made by master craftsmen specifically for Milaidhoo. An island host is on hand to ensure every detail of the stay is perfect, from arranging spa appointments and excursions to ensuring the private wine fridge in the villa is stocked with the guest's personal favorites. The room rate includes breakfast as well as wi-fi, laundry, kayaking, use of snorkelling equipment and in-villa treats such as a bottle of champagne and tropical fruit basket on arrival as well as a daily evening turn-down with a gourmet gift from chef. The three restaurants and two bars are designed to appeal to the senses, offering outstanding dining in wonderfully informal settings. No shoes are required. Food lovers will enjoy the Milaidhoo Gourmet Plan, which is a dine-around meal plan offering daily breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as international and premium brands of spirits, beers and cocktails from a selection as well as fresh juices, soft drinks, mineral water, teas, coffees, milkshakes and smoothies and a premium selection of wines, hand-picked by the sommelier all day long. The over-water spa has four treatment suites and complimentary yoga and meditation classes take place in the open air over-water pavilion. For romantics, Milaidhoo is the perfect choice: from candlelit dinners to scented baths, from flower petal bedecked beds to the perfect place to say "I do'. Sports activities include sailing, catamarans, kayaks, a 24-hour gym, yacht trips, dolphin cruises, whale shark spotting, manta ray watching, conservation activities with the resident marine biologist, fishing, diving, snorkelling, and an open-air infinity pool. Milaidhoo is reached by a scenic 35-minute seaplane ride from Male International Airport. Airport transfers are provided by the hotel at an extra charge.
