Lub d Koh Samui Chaweng Beach (SHA Extra+)

What an amazing establishment. My now wife and I travelled to Samui for our wedding. We stayed here the following year as a test run for potential accommodations for our guests and loved it. The hostel itself is unbelievable, the beds, the service, the location, the pool, the bar, the staff and bloody hell the shower pressure is unbelievable. If you’ve backpacked Thailand before you know how rare the last thing is haha. The event we had at the hostel. I contacted Kat only a few weeks before we arrived to organise welcome drinks for our guests. We set out a budget, a menu was provided and all was sorted quite quickly. Kat and the team could have very easily left it at that and my wife and I would have been happy but they went above and beyond in making the whole event special. They created a beautiful ballon arch consisting of my wife’s favourite colours. They sectioned off an area which allowed our guests some privacy and marshalled it using wristbands to ensure we had as much privacy as possible. When it came to food service and drinks, they set us up a mini bar and food stall. The welcome cocktails were a massive hit, refreshing, zesty and delicious. The food was simple but just right. The staff then went on to provide table service for our crazy guests and just pulled off an incredible event for us. If you’re looking for an event space that’s personal, a beautiful view with the most caring and attentive staff then look no further. If you’re looking for an incredible hostel with daily social events, a very welcoming atmosphere and amazing location look no further. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Lub D Chaweng. I stayed in a private room for 4 nights in both city view and sea view and they were both great rooms and very clean. I loved the sea view room which overlooked the pool. Lots of social activities to get involved in. Staff were very friendly in reception, bar and helping book activities. The view from the pool and restaurant overlooking the ocean was beautiful! Love that the breakfast was until 6pm. Also perfect location right in the middle of Chaweng strip but quiet that you couldn’t hear the noise from the street! Overall definitely recommend :)

Undoubtedly one of the best places to stay in Samui! The staff, food, the rooms, vibe, activities, direct access to the beach, breakfast, everything was perfect! Loved my time here and cannot wait to come back! Loved watching sunrise from my sea view room! Just wow! 🏝️❤️🫶 They have ample car and motorbike parking space available. Cannot wait to come back again! 🫶❤️

I booked a private room and it was exceptionally dirty. My room had blood stains on the bed frame and hair all over the floor. I went to reception and asked to move rooms, mainly because I was traveling as a solo female and the room I was given was ground floor and could be looked into by other guests walking by. I told them the room was dirty and they said nothing whilst they processed my room change. My second room was even worse, the bed sheets had mould stains and felt damp. The floor again was covered in hair, the towels had blood stains on them. The gap between the twin beds was full of hair and skin. There was some sort of goo on the shelf which was wet, I don’t think the cleaners opened their eyes whilst cleaning this room! The shower drain stunk of sewage and was also blocked, after a few minutes the water was up to my ankles. I was thoroughly disappointed that I paid the price for a private room here and this was the condition of the place.

Service terrible. Played the daily game to do a lucky spin, I won the main prize but they refused to give me the bar tab. Clear scammers. Told me I didn’t last the 2000 baht tab. See photo for proof 😂 Apart from that, hostel is a nice place and very social.
