I don't often write reviews on Tripadvisor, as I already work for a travel magazine and review on there, but I felt it important to give an honest review on here as we were all very disappointed and misled by the description of this hotel. The hotel isn’t bad in appearance, looks very palatial on first entry, but it’s definitely NOT a 5 star. At best, it’s a lower-end 4 star. It describes itself as “ultra all-inclusive”; this is NOT ultra all-inclusive. The drinks are poor, only a couple of branded spirits (Jack Daniels and Gordons Gin) and cocktails were extremely watery. Ultra All Inclusive generally means there are no extra meal charges, and no time restrictions on food. Other than a couple of free meal choices in each of the A La carte restaurants, all other choices were chargeable. You are only allowed ice cream (Cornettos, ice lollies etc) for 2 hours a day. This is from the Patisserie area, after the 2 hours, the refrigerated unit gets wheeled back to the shop and you have to pay 2 euros. The food in the main restaurant is pretty much the same every day, although there's plenty of it. We noticed that the food was constantly cold, we even experienced 'hot' crab cakes straight out of the deep fat fryer, still frozen in the middle. Turkey seems to be their meat of choice, done in various different ways! But it got to the stage where we genuinely didn't look forward to going for meals. If you are looking for a relaxing pool area, this is not for you. The pool is very clean, but by no means huge, and there are definitely not enough sun beds for the amount of people staying here. Many of the parasols were broken and in poor condition. We felt this hotel was very geared up for the ‘younger generation’, with loud 'garage/techno/rave' music drumming out all day on huge speakers around the pool area. We are by no means old, but many people remarked the same, feeling that they were driven to wearing earplugs or having to go to the beach to get away. Be aware, the tiles around the pool are very slippy. We saw several accidents while we were there. We booked an upgraded standard side Sea view room, but we had a huge hedge in front of our balcony (we were on the lobby level), because there was a communal patio area straight in front of our balcony. We noticed people stood on the patio, looking straight into our room. We could see the sea if we stood on tiptoes! The room next to us had a jacuzzi on their patio, but they had no privacy from us as there is no dividing wall, just a 2 foot hedge, so we could see straight on to their patio! The bedrooms are a decent size, although tired and dated looking. The cleaners were lovely, but room cleaning left a lot to be desired. Bins in the room weren’t emptied, glasses used from the day before were left untouched. There were stains on the duvet cover. Our mini bar (which is free) wasn’t filled up each day. The hotel rep asked us if everything was ok, so we mentioned all these things and was told they would be sorted and we would be able to change rooms, but they weren’t and to be honest, we got tired of having to keep asking about it! Bear in mind that there are no toiletries in the bathrooms. For something that advertises itself as Ultra all-inclusive, I would have expected the usual mini shampoo, conditioner, soap etc. instead they have a dispenser on the shower wall, which is a universal-type liquid soap to be used for everything and another dispenser by the sink. The hotel description says it has bathroom cosmetics. By that, they mean the dispensers. Germans and Russians are definitely favoured here, other than another couple, we were the only Brits. English is not widely spoken in the hotel, we made use of 'Google translate' for nearly everything. I can't say we were treated badly, we weren't, I would say we were more 'overlooked', as has been mentioned on several other reviews. The on-site shop near the patisserie is not expensive, which was a nice surprise, and has some basic necessities if needed. There is a great tractor-type transport to take you to the beach, as it is a VERY STEEP walk up and down! It runs regularly, every 10 minutes. Over all, this hotel has the potential to be so much better, but the management clearly are not interested in sorting out the basic problems, as can be seen by previous reviews going back a few years. We were at a loss as to its high rating, and can only assume that people have never stayed in a proper 5* hotel before. If you go with the expectation that this is a lower end 4* hotel, you'll be fine.
