Lindian Village Curio Collection by Hilton

We stayed at the Lindian Village resort for 10 nights, and were lucky enough to have a Bohemian suite with a private pool. The accommodation was lovely - we needed a twin room, and in other rooms this was only offered as two separate duvets in the same king size bed, so this suited us as there was a sofa bed in the lounge area. There was a bath and a shower with plenty of hot water, and a hair dryer provided. Also a set of weighing scales - not sure we wanted that while we were on holiday! The food was a buffet system in the main restaurant, and the food was of good quality. There perhaps wasn't as much variety as we have experienced in other 5 star hotels, but the fact that we could book at 3 a la carte restaurants during our stay more than compensated for that. In addition, there is the Yummy Truck serving snacks right on the beach, and regular drinks service around the pool and on the beach. It's well worth trying the Lindian burger and truffle chips! The staff were, without exception, wonderful - special mentions for Anastacia at the pool bar/beach, Endri at the bar in the plaza, Sergio and Zoe at the Greek restaurant, and Anastacia, Angel and Kallo at the Italian. We visited out of season, so it was understandable that there wasn't any entertainment, and the ice cream parlour was not open. However, it's worth mentioning that the hotel has a great location, but is quite remote - there are no other bars or restaurants within walking distance. This wasn't a problem for us - we took the bus from the bridge about 150 yards from the hotel entrance and travelled to Lindos for the day, which was lovely (7 euros each way per person, but a good way to see some of the island as well as visiting Lindos). On another day, we also took the "fun train" from the same stop. This is a little tractor train that runs in a loop once an hour, and you can hop on and off to visit some of the other resorts - we got off at the Kiotari mall which was good for souvenirs, and then hopped back on the train round to Kiotari beach (4 or 5 fish restaurants), and then back to Lindian Village. We enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the hotel for people who enjoy a very quiet and relaxed holiday.

Not a 5 star hotel. We are a family of 5 that wanted to try Rhodes for a change, we have previously stayed at at Curio Hilton property in Crete so thought this hotel would be perfect for our family holiday, how wrong was I. Booked 2 rooms a river passage swim out suite and a bohemian family suite. On arrival our flight had been delayed so we arrived 2 hrs later than planned. The check in process was long after an already long day, hey ho we were only on holiday no big deal. Reception was lovely explaining that the ice cream place was open and to book the alacarts, the ice cream place was not open the entire time we were there. Instead I had to purchase ice creams from the gift shop as the buffet ice cream offerings were bannana, chocolate and strawberry. Anyway back to the room, after being shown to the wrong room twice we finally entered the river passage swim out suite. Even at 3 am in the morning I could tell this room wasn’t what was advertised online, old, chipped woodwork, mouldy shower cubicle with a weird drain smell, the room look tired but maybe I was just tired and being grumpy. No in the day of light it didn’t look much better, the outdoor pool area was lovely but we had constant ants and the pool never looked that clean. During our 8 night stay we had a fly infestation, called reception . House keeping did come and spray, the flies continued to appear all week. Then we had an ant infestation outside, again asked house keeping to spray. The ants and flies weren’t great but I understood we are in Rhodes on the ground floor. We had no hot water in the shower the whole time we were there tepid only. . Couldn’t run a bath, it was cold. I kept telling myself it’s Rhodes carry on. The amount of times we went to the bar and asked for prosecco and was told no they had run out, no mojitos, no draft beer. Oh and the pool bar is advertised as open till 6.30pm but they refuse to serve by 5.50pm as the line for drinks is so long. Room key deactivated on our room and the other room, again another walk to reception to fix. Aircon stopped working in the bohemian family suite, back to reception to ask to fix but never really cold. Shower broke in the river passage suite room, had to report and they fixed. The food choice in the buffets is not good. Coffee machines, broken, terrible orange and apple juice and you have the pleasure of a sandwich press just the one for everyone to make toast. Worst buffet we have ever experienced, lunch is the best and that’s being kind. The food truck however is good but you can only get burgers, hotdogs, chicken nuggets and fries. No bao buns or kebabs as the tv guide states. Hotel advertises a program of events on the TV too there is none. On our last day they rolled out the chuckle brothers to play a few songs. The alacarts are the only positive thing I have to say about this place, great staff and tasty food and they have Prosecco which is also cold. We had the pleasure of eating in the Asian, Greek and Italian. Although our first attempt at eating in the Italian didn’t go to plan. Rain in the evening meant our reservation was cancelled, no one called our room to let us know so we walked in the rain soaked to be told we had to eat in the buffet . Hotel take note maybe an umbrella in the room would be helpful or just let your guests know when a reservation has been cancelled. The concierge was very helpful though and rebooked us in again it was a god send cause the thought of the buffet again made me want to cry. So now we come to the final day of the holiday. We requested a late check out as was not being picked up till 7.45pm, we were happy to pay. Hotel said we can have the rooms till 2pm but then don’t worry you can shower in the spa. On the day of departure I went to check the spa to see what facilities there were for showering, could I plug in my hairdryer? Oh the spa was shut. A trip to reception and was told the spa was shut there are no facilities there and to shower by the pool or on the beach. So on the last day our family could not enjoy the beach or pool and simply sat around listening to the terrible 2 man band that the hotel had decided to put on (finally last day some entertainment or be it terrible). Oh and housekeeping failed to come the day before we left, on enquiring reception said they can come up until 9pm they never came so no clean towels for our showers home. The mini bar was also not restocked until we called reception and requested it. In all we paid for 2 upgraded rooms at a considerable cost and got what we felt was a 2 star holiday. We made the best of it but we wouldn’t come back. We normally don’t want to go home, this time we couldn’t wait. Oh the beach is nice but you need beach shoes entry into the sea isn’t easy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Lindian Village Resort. This relaxing resort is perfect for families with 3 lovely pools and close proximity to the beach. The staff couldn’t be more kind and and helpful and there is constant drinks service around the pool. The resort is spotlessly clean and beautifully designed. The room with a private pool was worth every penny. Food wise, the Greek restaurant was a highlight but we were sad that Dreams n’ Creams wasn’t open while we were here. The vibe across the whole resort was very chilled, which was exactly what we were looking for. Thank you so much Lindian Village, we have loved every minute of our stay.
