Like the title of my review suggests, this isn't going to be good. Now, if you're expecting a 3 star hotel, you may like it. But if you're reading this review with the impression that you're going to a 5 star hotel, you WILL be disappointed. My review may be based on the fact we've been to a few 5 (actual) star hotels in the Antalya region (Voyage, Susesi, Maxx, Delphin etc) so it may be slightly unfair to bench this hotel against those. But when sites (Love Holidays, EasyJet, Booking.com et al) say its a 5 star, it needs to be judged as so. Firstly...We had to change rooms because the first one they gave us had a shared ground floor balcony and the configuration of the room was terrible (room 6113 for reference!) We had to get the Jet2 rep involved and the hotel only allowed us to swap rooms on day 2...so it didn't start well! Reception and language barriers...there was only 1 person I found to speak English well. That isn't good enough...And the bar staff were even worse. For two weeks I found myself getting really frustrated when ordering drinks. But as soon as you leave the hotel and walk into Bodrum (a lovely 10-15 walk along the sea) everyone speaks perfect English! So their ability to recruit people who speak the universal language of English well is not considered. The food on offer is limited. especially in the afternoon. It's shocking to be honest, not much choice. We found ourselves eating from the snack bar most days (which you order at a counter and is delivered to your chosen table). Breakfast and night time isn't too bad in terms of choice, but again, for a so-called 5 star hotel, its not good. Another really frustrating thing is the main buffet is criminally under staffed. You walk in and several times we stood having to wait for a table to be cleared. This isn't good enough. We watched one gentleman in the morning sit in an area that was shut and refused to move until a table was cleared for him to sit at. Drinks aren't bad. Mostly local, beer is Tuborg and you can get Carlsberg also in one bar. You can get quite a few imported drinks FOC too (Smirnoff, Malibu, Bells, Baileys). The Italian al a carte is great. We went twice. Really nice experience and the food was really good standard. We tried the Turkish which wasn't too bad, but we felt a lot of it came form the main buffet. But till nice to be served. Ordering wine was a chore, took 15 minutes in the Turkish to get our bottle, after being served incorrectly (again, because of the lack of English the waiters spoke). There's also a fish menu, that's in the same restaurant as the Turkish - they alternate evenings (2 fish nights a week I believe). We never managed to sample the fish menu though. The entertainment is ok, angled very much towards the Turkish tourists. My daughter loved the kids club though, and the lady who ran it was great. The room (the 2nd one we were given!) isn't bad for a family of 4. Aircon is good and the room is cleaned daily. It's a bit tired and issues like the door not shutting in the main bedroom, the shower door falling off and just generally a tired room is expected of a 3 star, but definitely not for a 5 star. We did the spa on the last day and paid £200 for 4 of us for 2 hours (kids got an hour). In all honesty, we paid a premium being in the hotel. I advise going somewhere outside, you'll save money and it maybe better. Like I said earlier, Bodrum is 10-15 minutes away walking, and WOW. Lovely place. Shops, bars and restaurants galore across 2 bays! we spent a good few nights out there because we couldn't stand to be in the buffet restaurant. And Gumbet is only 10 minutes in the taxi - well worth the visit. All-in-all...I've rated this hotel 2 stars (poor) as my overall experience. This reflects the fact this says its a 5 star hotel (sorry to labour the point!). If I was reviewing this as a 3 star, I probably would have gone with 4 stars, but I'm not!!!
