Kuramathi Maldives

We visited Kuramathi for seven nights as part of our honeymoon. Kuramathi is a BEAUTIFUL hotel, it’s very clean (indoor and outdoors) and there are beaches of DREAMS. We arrived on sea plane which, if you’re a confident flyer, we really recommend. It was an amazing experience. There were many excellent restaurants. We loved The Reef, Kobe and Siam Garden the best. We also loved Inguru for lunch and The Plam for their incredible ice cream. The Island BBQ place was our least - for us, it was missing little things compared to other places (e.g background music/atmosphere, steak knives etc). The service everywhere we went was amazing and the staff were very friendly. We found the staff at Laguna Bar and Siam were the most friendly. What was missing for us, for a five star review, was the special touches: the presentation of food overall, the atmosphere in restaurants/bars, some more free water sports or things to do (paddle boarding/kayaking are something that’s complementary at many five star hotels but not this one - the cost of which at Kuramathi is steep), better selection of wines on Select All Inclusive, upkeep on the villa (peeling paint/inconsistent hot water etc) wine/beer in rooms at a lower cost/free (for Select All Inclusive guests), rooms cleaned consistently etc… the value for money we felt was not quite there because of this: little touches could be added by the hotel at very little (if any) cost but would add the sprinkle on top for the guest experience. Particularly as it was our honeymoon, we felt a little let down by this. Nevertheless, we had a lovely time at Kuramathi. We met lots of lovely guests and staff and thoroughly enjoyed our pool villa. We really enjoyed the snorkelling straight from our room. The fish we saw were incredible. We even saw a shark and stingray. Amazing!

I've just returned from a magical 28 night stay on this beautiful island. On such a long stay you really get to see everything - the good, and the not so good. Glad to say though there were hardly any issues on our long trip, the staff and infrastructure are both first class, and we will definitely be back again next year. This was my second trip, and I've experienced both the uber lux modern top end of the island as well as the traditional Maldivian area, and I loved the traditional area much more. We were in a deluxe garden villa which was practically on the beach, easily accessible and I thought the decor and fittings were really amazing. I loved the gardens here as they felt very natural and it really felt like we were living in nature! Our restaurant was Haruge - I think it's the best buffet restaurant on the island, lots of space and very ventilated. A big shout to the Manager Asim and supervisor Nash. They run a tight ship, service is first class and they made me feel so welcome. My son absolutely loves the kids club. They run a huge range of activities and themes through the week and also provide food and refreshments. My son turned 5 on the island and they celebrated with an amazing birthday party. I watched my son grow in confidence over the weeks, although hes young, the activities encourage him to go outside his comfort zone and the team there are so professional and excellent! Thank you to Sara, Hamza, Yulia, Kristina, Conny, Catherine, Rashma and Raya. You are an AMAZING TEAM! My long stay meant that we also found the best bar tenders on the island. - Make sure you meet Niland at the Pool bar, who can customise a cocktail and a smoothie to your tastes. My absolute favourite place to relax was Sand Bar - excellent internet connection here, enabled me to catch up with a bit of work as well. Here the best cocktails on the island are made by Ashvika, make sure you ask him about his own creations and ideas - he's got many that you can try. I became addicted to his pinacoladas. The staff here are super efficient and amazing, big shout to Marion, Katy, Farhumaan, and Avishka! You all made me feel so welcome. Things that could be improved: Quality of the drinks at Laguna bar could be better. Service at Farivalu was a bit up and down. Ventilation at Reef restaurant - it was extremely hot when we ate there. Increased buggy service during peak meal times 12-2/7 to 9 - a few times we had to wait almost 10 mins. We look forward to returning again next year.

The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Cleanliness is perfect. The buffet is delicious. There are many different bars and activities on the island (also for children). The staff are very nice and friendly, always attentive. We went diving and snorkeling - it was wonderful. The house reef is highly recommended!

We returned to Kuramathi for the fourth time and can honestly say it keeps getting better. We stayed in a two bed beach house as there was five of us. They are a perfect size and layout and right on the beach. The rooms were cleaned twice a day to such a high standard and the bed decorations were amazing! Thank you Nazeem. Unfortunately I cant really put into words how good this island is. The service from the minute you arrive at Male airport to the departure is 100% from all the staff. There are too many people to name individually but there are quite a lot who made our stay very special. This time we did the boat transfer. The arrival journey was ok as it was a large boat which must have had AC as it was cool and had a toilet, the journey back was a smaller boat which was really hot and no toilet and was also quite choppy. We went select all Inc and in my opinion this the only way to go as it gives you access to all the restaurants. The food at each restaurant is faultless as is the service. Menu's are clearly marked what is included for select all Inc, Lobster, Wagu steaks and some other things are extra and the wine list is also clearly marked too. We were allocated Farivalhu restaurant for breakfast which is buffet with lots to choose from, there is a chef who cooks fresh omelettes which are so good. Our favourite restaurants are island barbeque and The Reef. The food is amazing, flambeed prawns and steak diane are cooked at your table at the Island barbeque which is great to watch. The Reef has a fresh fish counter where you can see all the fish available and your waiter talks you through the choices of fish. Nafiu one of our waiters is outstanding and remembered us from previous visits. All the staff are really professional, showing exceptional service to every guest. We must also give a special mention to Fairooz at the fung bar who is a credit to the island, he was engaging and professional, giving us knowledge of Kuramathi and his home island. Snorkelling is excellent, we saw turtles, an array of beautiful fish in all sorts of colours and sizes, sharks and rays. The house reef is one of the best in the Maldives. Snorkeling masks can be hired free of charge which is good. As a family with young children 11 & 16 we cannot recommend this Island enough. We are already thinking of returning as soon as we can. Thank you to all the staff at Kuramathi for making our stay at this magical Island so comfortable and memorable. It truly is paradise on earth.

I stayed in a two-bedroom beach house (326), and it was simply amazing. There was ample space for everything, making it perfect for traveling with young kids. The kids club was excellent, with well-trained and attentive staff. I want to extend my gratitude to all the resort staff for their kindness.
