Booked this hotel based on its trip advisor reviews. It’s a short 15 minute drive from the airport so no nasty long transfers. A nice chap called George greeted us on arrival with some iced lime juice and a chilled towel. Which was well received. The room was nicely decorated and a good size for 2 of us. It was immaculately clean and there was sparkling wine, red wine, nibbles and a stocked mini bar on arrival too. Beach towels are provided and can be swapped twice a day if needed. Toiletries in the hotel rooms are good quality too . Linen is changed daily. The hotel is in its own huge grounds, with a a small beach, 2 large pools and a mini pool/play area. We’re here mid august and it’s not busy at all for some reason. There are always sunbeds free by the pools or on the area toward the sea. The hotel is around 15 minute bus ride to Corfu town. The bus stops are right outside. Someone commented it’s a busy road. Well it is- but it’s maybe 500m away from the hotel down a long drive so you don’t hear it. Walking along the road isn’t really doable though as there are no real pathways. Crossing the road to the bus stop is a bit of an ordeal. It’s a very busy dual carriageway. . Not the hotel’s issue tho! - it’s a 50 minute walk to town. So just get a cab (€16) or the bus (€2) Google maps work for the bus timetables and they were more or less on time. Apple Maps doesn’t work for public transport nor does city mapper. Ypsos is 40 mins on the bus too for €2.50. Staff in the hotel are smiley and polite and attentive. All of the staff were very well turned out and professional. Of particular note was hostess Georgia, who had an endless smile and a natural beauteous charm, Antonis the barman who worked really hard to keep us supplied with cocktails, and the Georgie carvery chef who had a great attitude and charm. The food is great with plenty of tasty choices. It was cooked fresh in small batches so as not to go stale or overheated. The food was cooked with love with quality fresh ingredients. The on-site Greek and Japanese places are also good to eat at with the same level of attentive service. Good selection of all inclusive drinks and cocktails at the bar. Not just local spirits. Animation team are nice and friendly and not at all pushy but keep you informed of what’s on. They seem to work hard. I liked seeing the gardening team of 3 guys pootling about sweeping or pruning or sorting sun-beds. They seemed to take some pride in making sure the place looks nice. The outdoor kitchen areas are really really clean. The poolside toilets are cleaner and fresher than some hotel rooms I’ve stayed in, in my youth… There are a few wasps around and the hotel staff have mitigated them with various means, but, even the wasps are fairly friendly here. They are not like a Malicious British wasp, who would sting you as he casually flew past.. these stripy fellows just do a low level fly-by and if there’s nothing going on they buzz off. The air con in the room works well and gives a good chilled blast. There is an ironing room in the hotel to get rid of your creases. Genuinely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, in terms of service provision, cleanliness, staff professionalism and food and drink. Really enjoyed my stay.
