Best Beaches in Sri Lanka

Along the south coast of Sri Lanka, the jungle meets the sea at Hiriketiya beach. Soak in the sunshine on glorious honey-hued sand which melts into crystalline waters. There are beach bars and food huts dotted around this tropical oasis, so you can happily spend your whole day here.

This is a favourite spot amongst surfers, you can hire a board from the nearby town. This palm-fringed beach has a rustic feel to it, so be sure to bring sun protection as there are no umbrellas or sunbeds here.

A thick grove of palms borders the soft white sand which makes up this beautiful beach. Sip on a refreshing beverage at the Secret Beach Bar, overlooks a gorgeous blue lagoon which seeps into a magical rock pool.

Dalawella beach is a lively place and it's easy to see why it's so popular. Here you'll find the famous palm tree swing, as well as an enchanting lagoon. Another attraction is Wijaya Rock, where you can climb and watch turtles swim in the crystal-clear waters below.
