Weather in Seychelles

Hot and sultry are the two hallmarks of Seychelles' tropical climate. Whether it's the dry or wet season, the Seychelles boast an impressive average temperature of 28°C all year round, with scorching sunshine of up to 8 hours a day and high humidity. We recommend reapplying sun cream every two or three hours, as it will melt in no time thanks to the mild climate.

Although the rainy season runs from December to March, the country tends to experience rainfall for most of the year, so it's a good idea to pack waterproof clothing for any period of your stay.

Seasonality in Seychelles

Seychelles has two distinct seasons: the wet season and the dry season. The dry season runs from June to September, with July and August being the driest months of the year. The wet season in the Seychelles runs from December to March and can be marked by cyclones, although this is rare. Rest assured: the showers are short and gentle, turning grey skies into sunny blues. April, May and October are transitional months, offering the best of both wet and dry seasons.

Peak season in Seychelles

The high season in the Seychelles is between June and September, and merges wonderfully with the summer months, often referred to as the monsoon season. During this period, average temperatures can reach 27°C, with warm seas, calm waters, 8 hours of sunshine and a light breeze. It's the perfect time to go snorkelling at the magnificent dive sites and get that dreamy sun-kissed glow.

Low season in Seychelles

The low season in Seychelles runs from December to March. The low season coincides with Seychelles' wet season, and you can expect short, heavy showers and trade winds combined with warm temperatures of up to 30°C. February is the wettest month of the year, with up to 17 days of rain, but don't be fooled as February is one of the most popular months of the year due to events such as the Eco-Healing Seychelles marathon and the Kavadi festival.
