Official Description

Arrive to the long dramatic illuminated lobby at Hyatt Regency Koh Samui with a fresh breeze flowing through and natrual sun and moonlight coming through. Walking along this fresh lobby walkway, will take you all the way to the the oceans edge for the perfect frame for your first vacation photo. The resort is built around the YangNa Trees (protected trees in thailand) and coconut trees, famous to Koh Samui. The hotel grounds has over 600 trees on our 8 acres, the hotel design based on the hotel being a gallery within the protected forest allowing guests many places to sit, rest, look out to the ocean, walk within tropical and garden flower beds and of course celebrate. The hotel has 140 rooms, including a regency club, 17 suites and 7 pool villas. Each of the villas are at the beach and seaside edge and have large expansive deck areas. The Presidential Villa is the largest and most luxurious of all. The hotel has a signature grill restaurant and bar by the beach, market cafe our ADD, market grab and go, Lobby Bar social space and a Spa of 5 treatments rooms (2 are double suites). The hotel has event space of 190sqm allowing sit down western dinners of 100pax, cocktails for 150, and we welcome events outdoors, beach and other locations of our hotel.

Hotel with a lot of potential and great staff, but noise, high prices & food safety concerns left with mixed impressions

We stayed at Hyatt Koh Samui for 6 nights in early April as a family of four (two adults and two small kids). The hotel is modern and beautifully designed, with a high level of cleanliness. Staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and service-minded throughout, from reception to housekeeping and the kids club. However, a few issues seriously impacted our experience. Our room, though labeled an upgrade, was right next to a noisy road. Scooter noise was loud and constant, even at night. For the price, better soundproofing is expected. Dining was also a challenge. With two small kids and the heat, going out for meals wasn’t realistic. That left us reliant on the two hotel restaurants. While the food was good, the à la carte menu was limited and prices were very high—even for a resort. The biggest issue, though, was food poisoning. Both adults were severely ill for 24 hours after lunch at the pool restaurant. On the last day, our son got sick just before heading to the airport, hours after eating a burger at the beach restaurant. We hadn’t eaten outside the hotel during our stay, which makes this extremely concerning. Staff were sympathetic and covered our taxi, but promised follow-up from the F&B team never came. Great staff and setting, but serious concerns about food safety and overall value. Sadly, we would not return unless these issues are addressed.

Excellent stay for our honeymoon

We visited for our Honeymoon and are so pleased we picked Hyaty regency. All the staff were very friendly and professional making us feel well looked after and cared for. The location does require transport to get around as no restaurants within easy walking distance but you can hire a bike from the hotel or scooter across the road or from in town. We used grabs/bolt and songathews. It has its own private beach which isnt ideal for swimming in on a rough day but the 3 pool options right on the beach make up for this and you can visit swimming beaches at bophut or chaweng. We also loved there was an Adults only pool down by the beach for a more quiet feel away from the main pool with the kids and kids waterslide. Only downfall is there isnt many sunbeds there but there was plenty next to ot on the beach front. This area is nice and quiet away from the pumping bustle and we were happy with its location for our stay. The 2 restaurants also gave us plenty of options for food during our stay when we didnt feel like venturing out plus theres a bar additionally too.

Hyatt Regency Samui, pool time is the time!

Hyatt regency Samui Standard Suite 8pm check in by News/Mink was smooth, after a short ride from USM airport. No queue, airy hall. This is our first stop after flight so didn’t expect much. We went straight for dinner and seemed not busy. Hyatt Regency Samui meets our usual Hyatt expectation, reminding me of Hyatt Regency Danang (except beach condition). As Hyatt loyal globalist we were upgraded to standard suite which fits family traveler nicely. The room comes with balcony where we mostly used to dry our clothes. Nothing fancy but everything practical. Plunge pool and infinity pool are where we spent most time. There is even a small water slide there. There was one adult only pool so kids free travelers can enjoy a moment of peace. Breakfast selection is good with Asian / International / Thai selection but can get noisy when too crowded. Gym facilities are good although rather small but I don’t really see people there. There is Camp Hyatt but I think activities can be enhanced and the space is rather small. Globaist breakfast is offered both at lounge and the main restaurant which is good. Lounge happy hour is good with hot/cold selections. Check out by Sam was smooth and easy. Didn’t really set foot at the beach given the beach condition. Overall, the atmosphere is very relaxed at Hyatt Regency Samui and pricing is at the sweet spot in my view. We didn’t leave the hotel during our two night stay and I didn’t feel the need to go out / order take away via Grab. All staff is helpful and nice Thank you, Hyatt Regency Samui Team. Fabulous overall experience. This hotel is beautiful & they have overall high standard of cleanliness. The design features in the lobby are fabulous & unusual. Worthwhile even just to stop by and have dinner and enjoy the interesting architecture. I had some difficulty during my stay with plumbing in my room though the engineers fixed it quickly. The management staff response was excellent. They communicated well with each other & really tried to make sure my stay wasn’t affected. Problems can occur at any establishment though it’s the management response that ultimately determines a guest’s experience. Everything possible was done to help fix the problems & I was treated kindly & respectfully. Overall Excellent stay I appreciated that most staff attempt to anticipate customer needs ( ie carrying beach towels / trying to offer buggy service around resort if they see you walking etc) also appreciated that many staff members genuinely kind.
