Hurawalhi Island Resort

The best impressions from our first visit to the Maldives. Thanks to our assistant Hajar for accompanying us during our vacation. Lots of activities, a beautiful reef, delicious cuisine, and friendly and considerate staff. The hotel is clean, the rooms are fresh, and the housekeeping was excellent. We celebrated two holidays at Hurawalli, and both times they prepared complimentary gifts for us and decorated the table especially for our occasions. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back next season.

The island was beautiful and the villas were clean. The Ocean Pool Villa had a private infinity pool which was great for chilling out, while the Romantic Ocean Villa had a hammock on the sundeck which was perfect for spotting marine life. A green sea turtle could be seen every morning from our sun deck. Dolphins were also spotted every morning at breakfast, Host looked after us very well and attended to our requests. Food and beverages were great. Very vegan-friendly too. Staff were helpful and friendly. Photo/video team was fantastic! They produced a breathtakingly stunning video for us in just one morning. A fabulous island for snorkelling, watersports, watching marine animals and simply having a wonderful time.

We stayed at Hurawalhi from September 29 to October 10 — ten days of absolute pleasure and relaxation. The resort left us with the warmest impressions and made us feel like we had arrived in a little piece of paradise from the very first minutes. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail. The island itself is small, which only adds to the coziness: few people, complete silence, a sense of seclusion and peace. The design is exquisite — natural wood, warm tones, an atmosphere of authenticity and harmony with nature. Our Sunset Beach Villa was stunning — a private terrace with its own pool, surrounded by greenery. The villa had everything we needed: air conditioning, a large comfortable bed, a great shower, perfect lighting — everything worked flawlessly. Housekeeping came twice a day with fresh towels and linens. The staff were attentive, discreet, and the villa was always spotless and perfectly tidy. The food deserves a special mention. Almost every day — fresh oysters, tuna and salmon sashimi, reef fish, meat dishes — everything was delicious! We mostly dined at Canneli Restaurant, which is truly a place you want to return to again and again. We also had several lunches at JFK — absolutely fantastic! The chefs and waiters are real professionals: friendly, smiling, yet never intrusive. The sashimi and pasta stood out in particular — always incredibly fresh and flavorful. We visited the à la carte Asian restaurant — beautifully decorated, dinner by the ocean under the moonlight, incredibly romantic. However, the food itself was rather ordinary: the dumplings tasted as if they had been refrozen, and the Tom Yum soup was disappointing. The dishes lacked a distinctive touch, but the setting, atmosphere, and view of the ocean more than made up for it. We also went to the underwater restaurant for lunch (extra charge) — and it was pure magic. An unforgettable experience well worth the cost. The food was tasty, but the main focus there is on the atmosphere and emotions — and that’s absolutely fine. Beach and ocean. It seems we came during a season (late September – early October) when a lot of seagrass grows near the shore. It starts just a few meters from the beach, so for swimming, you either need to go a bit farther out or move to another spot. It’s perfect for snorkeling — lots of fish — but if, like me, you simply enjoy calm swimming, it can slightly spoil the experience. We were hoping mostly to swim in the ocean rather than snorkel, so that was a minor downside. The pool at our villa had a bit of a greenish tint — probably just a matter of age or material, and nothing that could really be cleaned off. It bothered us a little at first, but we soon stopped noticing — everything else easily overshadowed this small imperfection. Service was exceptional. Our host Hajar was incredibly attentive and caring — she helped with everything from dinner reservations to activity recommendations. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Transfers were perfectly organized: a seaplane flight followed by a short boat ride — all smooth and timely, no waiting. We were greeted and seen off with genuine warmth, and at departure, they even gifted us a framed photo with our names — such a touching and thoughtful gesture. Activities and relaxation. I visited the spa — absolute bliss, an hour and a half of pure relaxation. We also went jet skiing and on a private fishing trip, both were great experiences. In the evenings, there was live music, and occasionally traditional Maldivian nights with dances and songs — very atmospheric, never loud or intrusive, just perfect for a peaceful stay. Overall, the resort left the impression of a truly special place — one you want to return to. Everything — from the design and service to the food and overall vibe — is done with heart and care. A few minor details can’t spoil the big picture. Hurawalhi is a place where you can truly unwind, enjoy nature, flavors, peace, and the genuine hospitality of the team. If you’re looking for comfort, privacy, high-level service, and the atmosphere of a true island paradise — this is exactly the place.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Hurawalhi Island Resort. Everything about my stay was simply perfect — from the stunning surroundings to the exceptional service. I booked an overwater villa, which was truly the highlight of my trip. The room was beautiful, peaceful, and offered pure tranquility — the sound of the ocean and the view made it an unforgettable experience. The resort’s restaurants were fantastic, offering a wide variety of delicious food and different choices each day. The hospitality from the entire team was outstanding — everyone went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well looked after. A special mention to Maudey, who provided an exceptional one-to-one service throughout my stay. He made sure all my requests, reservations, and any assistance I needed were handled seamlessly. I would definitely recommend Hurawalhi Island Resort to anyone looking for a luxury escape filled with peace, beauty, and world-class service. I’ll definitely be booking again!
