Helea Family Beach Resort

I am currently here (day five) and honestly I wish I booked less days as this isn’t the holiday I wanted or expected. For the amount I paid the hotel rooms are not up to standard at all, very small, cosmetic damage in most corners and overall has a glammed up travel lodge feel. Very thin walls with doors banging constantly, haven’t had a good nights sleep since being here. The rest of the hotel looks gorgeous but a lot of walking up and down stairs to get to the main restaurant becomes a chore after a while. Food and ques. There was no issues during our first couple of days when it come to queuing for food at the food hub or bar but that changed today. Waiting over 45 minutes to even be acknowledged by staff who are just standing around talking instead of taking your order. In the end we couldn’t be bothered to be ignored so left. Restaurants We booked the Italian restaurant tonight and it was awful from the minute we stepped in. They got our order wrong (things happen) but they then blamed us for telling them the wrong order! This was not correct but we let it slip even though they refused to rectify it and we got given food we didn’t order. Mains was ok.., we had some pizza left over and asked to take it away and we were rudely laughed at and was told “no, you cannot do that” despite one, paying for it and two they do room service pizzas here so why can’t we take it away? What a waste of food! The pools have algae round the edges and despite them being cleaned daily they are quite dirty and off putting.. sunbeds are always taken up and they seem to enforce removing towels when it suits them. Main restaurant, there is no difference in lunch and dinner so becomes quite boring after a while. Again, for what we paid into us expect more variety. Overall, we won’t be returning. It’s pictures online draw in anyone who wants an instragramble experience but that’s where it stops. So sad that I am not even half way through this holiday and having to leave a negative review..

Good evening everyone, I visited the hotel with my family recently. We came from Cyprus for 7 days, the reception at the hotel was good with a little delay in check in but the effort and smile of the staff to cope with so many people was great. From the First day we met Mr. Vasili, the Maitre of the hotel who showed us around and took enough time to introduce us to all the facilities of the hotel. He informed us and suggested dishes in combination with the wine that would match. We were impressed by the tangible Lopia Restaurant with its multitude of options as well as the LAERMA Restaurant with its original cuisine. The rooms need a little more regular cleaning but if you call reception someone will come sooner. A big shootout for Vasili and his wonderful team at the Lopia restaurant. Visit the hotel is worth the price.

Pros: + very nice and smiling staff, eager to help; + beautiful location of the hotel; + modern, pleasant architecture; + tasty lunches and dinners with a wide range of dishes; + good quality alcohol and tasty drinks; + beautiful, large main pool and many smaller, more intimate pools; + neat, elegant rooms without disappointment; + location of the hotel close to the airport and a few souvenir shops nearby Cons: - very average breakfasts. Scrambled eggs from powder and similar "omelets" plus overcooked sausages are not what we expected from a 5-star hotel; - room cleaning usually takes place late in the afternoon (16:30-17:00) so it often happened that after returning from the beach/pool the room wasn't clean since the morning. If we managed to have the room cleaned (only twice during the week), it was still quite sloppy; - extremely poor MiniBar in the room. Two cans of regular Coke (although we know that most people drink ZERO anyway), two still waters and two juices with a straw, the END, no other options, no snacks, NOTHING. The level of a 1-star motel. The effect is that you have to go to the supermarket next door and buy - poor "All Inclusive"; - it's hard to call the reception, there is an eternal crowd there, so that's probably why no one answers; - no socket in the bathroom. It's not that it was hidden under the sink or under the bin...it just isn't there. My Partner dried her hair in the room - bravo :); - you get the impression that there are more guests there than there are available places at the pool or on the beach. If you don't "reserve" a sunbed at 8:00 before breakfast, at 10:00 you are left to put a towel on the sand; - no possibility of even a paid late check-out. At 11 you return your room card and wander around the hotel for 6 hours. Weak, they explain it by saying "hotel is full", but for such a large hotel it's a weak excuse

I don’t really know how to describe my stay at helea . As someone who stay only ay 5 star luxury hotels for sure I can say that it is not 5 star hotel . And here’s my explanation: major problems, no AC is all common area , and when out side 35 degrees inside it fells like 40. The staff say that there are AC . I didn’t felt it . And in the room the AC exists but very weak and stock on 25degres . No service ! You can call so many times to the reception for coffee or towels or for showers gel . No one response . And when they do it’s even no hello it something like : “how can I help?!” Very rude. Food at the main restaurant very low and not considered allergy or strict food like kosher or halal food . In addition there are few a la carte restaurants which food is OK . In the pools bars all kind of alcohol which it’s a + but what 5star hotel serve in cartons cup . They say glass it’s dangerous at pool but come on there are many other options. Recption staff are not really nice and they do like they write your complaints and take your telephone number but never get back to you . The only angel in the reception it’s NICK which very polite and professional and smiling . And much professional then other people there . Bravo nick . After dark there are sunshine , and there are some staff at this hotel that make you feel like they care and help as much as they can . And the angel of this hotel is COSTS , manger of food and beverage. This guy help a lots , very polite and professional and his staff are the same . He help us a lots . Thank you costas . Rooms are beautiful and clean with nice view . There a many kids activities and shows every day and a really nice water park . The hotel is clean . And good situated. And what make me crazy it’s that the hotel are beautiful and it’s really frustrating that they have a perle at hand but they make from it garbage. Too bad! You can give HERMES shower gel and cocktail at carton cup . And this is the problem. For conclusion, it is not a 5 star hotel and they have too much things to improve and I hope they will do . For now I don’t recommend to my reader to go amd if they do don’t go with expectations at least you won’t be disappointed.

This hotel is NOT a lifestyle resort. It is a creche!! There are rowdy screeching kids EVERYWHERE. I mean EVERYWHERE. The name of the hotel is very misleading. If you are travelling without young kids, please look at alternative holidays as this will not be the relaxing, restorative holiday you think it will be! This hotel is very much 'instagram vs reality'. Aesthetically it has some nice design  features, but the overall holiday experience is seriously let down by the following:- You need to take a deep breath before entering the main buffet restaurant as you dodge one unruly child after the other. The restaurant is utter chaos. Really unpleasant dining and buffet experience. The food selection at main buffet restaurant is also very poor when compared with other all inclusive resorts. This applies for both evening meals and breakfasts. For instance, no counter to order own omelette which is pretty standard these days. Slow room cleaning. We were generally out our room by 9am each morning leaving the 'please clean room' sign on. Each day I had to call reception at 4pm as rooms still hadn't been cleaned. With so many nice hotels to choose from with similar views and facilities, the service element is key in differentiating a hotel and customer experience. There were insufficient staff at this hotel and the staff they did have were clueless and apathetic. We've just had a particularly poor experience at the street Friday Hub with Joanna who couldn't have cared less when asked to make a fresh ham and cheese  baguette without Mayo  as daughter allergic to Mayo. Towels in room and for pool are all old, freyed and grey. They need to be replaced. This hotel would be very challenging for anyone with mobility issues- the design and flow of the hotel makes no sense. For instance, the gym and main buffet restaurant are right next to each other but you have to go up stairs, walk through diff area  then go down diff stairs to access them. Just really poorly considered. All in all, this hotel promises a lot in terms of design, decor and experience- but we found it pretty underwhelming. For this price point I would not recommend. I stayed in a mitsis resort last year which was cheaper and far superior.
