Grecotel Luxme Daphnila Bay Dassia

We have just returned from 7 nights at this hotel. We usually avoid AI holidays but thought we'd depart from the norm this year. We had a mixed experience:. Pros: - Very big bed in our room with comfortable linen. Canopy makes it feel special. - Lovely welcome to room with sweets and wine. - Buffet and restaurants fabulous. - Buggy to and from beach helpful- very kind driver. - Choice of drinks excellent. - Beautiful hotel lobby and restaurants. - Pool area lovely and clean. - Lovely quiet hotel. Some limited entertainment for those who want it, but doesn't disturb those who want to avoid it. - Cinema and cabaret/dance show with popcorn / candy floss for kids made it very special for them. Cons: - Room dated, smelt of sewage and flush didn't work on toilet. - Bed for our third child was on wheels with no brake and rolled around so she couldn't sit up and read without bed rolling away from wall. - A lot of wasps at restaurants. Children got stung and staff unhelpful. - The boats between hotels are infrequent and there is no booking/queuing system. Richer guests are prioritised over those who are waiting. - They advertise that you can use another hotel's waterpark but when we turned up we were turned away despite 1 hour journey. They need to remove this as false advertising. - We spoke to concierge in lobby about booking experiences (horse ride) but she told us they were too far away and not possible. Why advertise them on your app if not possible? Not the hotel's fault but ambience of hotel completely changed for the worse on our 4th day after two coach loads of rude tourists arrived on Jet2 and TUI holidays. They were loud, sought to drink bar dry (we noticed drink sizes reduced as a result of this) and shouty children unsupervised by pool. Puts other fellow Brits to shame. We felt very embarrassed.

Nice location, friendly staff, good cocktail and alcohol choice BUT old rooms, uncomfortable beds on which you feel the springs inside, beach that doesn’t look like the pictures. This hotel is not luxurious at all but asks for a lot of money. OVER PRICED , does not deserve this money. Don’t waste this amount of money in this hotel, go to a hotel which has nice sea such on Barbati beach or Paleokastritsa. I wish I had read the recent negative comments on booking about this hotel without paying. It has 8.4 rating on booking but this is not the case. The hotel answered negative comments by saying “we are taking this into account” but it is obvious that they don’t do much. The hotel needs renovation to deserve this price. If they don’t do it the price should be decreased 30-50 %.

We just spend our third (!) summer at this very lovely hotel. The staff is very attentive, there are plenty of restaurants, both a la carte and buffet, even at the beach. If you like to play tennis, several courts are available and you can ask for a coach. You can even play after dark because of the floodlights. If your like watersports, there is a private pontoon with all the amenities. And there is also another pantoon for motorboats aswell. They also have a boat touring all day between the three Grecotels on the peninsula. Another boat can bring you to the old town. Kids are welcome at the kids club that has plenty of activities. Our special thanks goes to Afroditi and Alexandra, our hostess who was always available to make our stay as good as it gets.

Having stayed at a Grecotel in Kos last year and loved the service and vibe, we booked Daphnila bay for summer 2025. What attracts us is that it doesn’t feel like all-inclusive hotel catering for the masses, it feels boutique with luxury elements. The range of the all inclusive drinks is excellent, a great range of local and international beers, decent Greek wines, well made cocktails and an excellent range of spirits. The service from all the hotel staff is amazing, including the waiter service around the pool and the reception staff. The pool area is small for the hotel size and when we went, it was mainly families with young children round it, so could get a bit noisy. One end of the pool is deep (2m 30 cm) so great for jumping in and diving. We liked that there was no reservations of sun beds at the pool and staff were removing towels unattended for too long. We had no trouble getting sun beds around the pool and didn’t have to get up too early (8 - 8.15am). The beach itself is narrow and pebbly but there is a large grass area behind it with a lot of shades from the palm and olive trees and lots of sun beds and we never had an issue getting 4 beds anytime of day. The sea was lovely and warmer than the pool! This area is served by the beach bar and restaurant. Queues at the bar could be a little longer as there were often a lot of cocktail orders which take time to make. Our children loved the crepes and ice creams by the beach. The wine tasting was very informative and led us to trying different wines in the restaurants rather than the usual house red/ white. Book the restaurants on the app before you arrive or when you check in. The standard of food is good at the buffet and a la carts restaurants. Personal restaurant favourites were the Asian and the hot stones restaurants, and the location of the traditional Greek restaurant was lovely as it overlooked the beach. The hotel is on a steep hill, there is a shuttle car and golf carts to ferry people up and down. We used the shuttle bus to corfu town which was efficient, but we would have liked a little longer in the town as it dropped off around 10.30 and picked up at 2pm. Don’t think it’s anything to do with the hotel but there’s a water sports centre at the end of the beach, which was convenient and we booked a few water activities through. The indoor gym was good and excellent quality of tennis courts, and there was also an outside gym. We are looking to book another Grecotel holiday next year.

This was our second visit to Grecotel Luxme Daphnila Bay and somehow they managed to make it even better second time round!! Would 100% recommend this hotel for a family, we travelled with 3 children and we all had a brilliant time. The food, buffet restaurant and a la carte restaurants were delicious, the staff cannot do enough for you, the hotel is clean, tidy and the rooms are spacious ( we struggle to find hotels which sleep 5 in a room and there was plenty of room for all of us in the bungalows). I. Sure we will be back for a third time soon. Thank you all.
