Galaxy Beach Resort, BW Premier Collection

Pros: Pool / bar area / hotel grounds. Food / drink. Room. Location. Beach. Cleanliness. Cons: Too many kids (not hotel's fault, personal preference). Not enough sunbeds around pool. (Always said guests should be allocated 1 sunbed each on arrival, ensuring enough sunbeds per guests). Sunbeds too expensive on beach. Some glass glasses around pool, staff did nothing about it. Non all-inclusive guests helping themselves to drinks and snacks, staff did nothing about it. No lifeguard, therefore too many inflatables in pool causing hazard. (Banned in pools in Spain). Poor night-time entertainment. No day-time entertainment.

After a long journey to arrive at the hotel, the receptionist was so kind and thoughtful, she sent us to get a late dinner before the restaurant closed, and she would start our checkin and finish when we got something to eat. The room was lovely, very clean, comfy beds,. AC is very important to me in hot areas, so it was of the highest order. The food was satisfactory, perhaps some more options would be nice to see, but good quality nonetheless. The quality of the cocktails in all-inclusive was not the greatest standard, so we had to pay a premium for good cocktails. The bar staff worked extremely hard and one person in particular, Daniela, worked 110% to be engaging, give quality service, and nothing was too much bother for her. A real star. Disappointing was the fact that if we wanted to eat our meals outside of the restaurant, we had to pay for the privilege. Stealth tax? Pool area - felt not enough sunbeds to accommodate all the guests, and if no bed available, the private beach of the hotel did require payment for sunbeds. But overall a lovely hotel and tremendous staff who were superb. Only down side being those surcharges. Would I go back - Yes!!! Would I recommend - Yes!! Ann D

Our holiday was ruined by a night security guard at the hotel that threatened to beat myself and my partner for swimming in the sea after dusk. He had no apparent reason for his behaviour and was seriously aggressive. When questioned, he could not provide answers as to why we could not swim in the sea or why he was being aggressive. He simple took out some sort of weapon and tried to attack us. Give this hotel a miss if you like swimming in the sea when it's not so hot.

We are a family of two adults and one teenage boy, the Galaxy hotel is a lovely place to stay, loved walking straight onto the beach, where theres a small strip of sand and lovely clear shallow warm sea! The pool is ok, a little section for little children, one end of the big pool is very deep, we probably only got a sun bed around the pool half the time we were there but we didn’t mind, you do have to pay for the sun beds on the beach. Food was great, all very tasty and more than a typical all inclusive, compliments to the chef and his team! We always found something to have, yes it can be a bit random but it’s a buffet! English breakfast was lovely! Rooms…beds are hard, the bathroom has a glass door so not much privacy, corridors are very loud with people coming back late or people getting up early, not the hotels fault just thought some people didn’t have much respect, only one lift so easier to walk up/down the steps, hotel is only over three floors anyway. Please go to the roof top bar, the barman was lovely, the views are beautiful, try and catch the sunset over the hills too, we went up there most nights and barely anyone up there as I’m not sure many people knew about it. The strip is a 10 min walk even if you don’t like the hustle and bustle I would say it’s worth a visit. All in all a great holiday, all staff lovely, food really good, drinks lovely, beach and sea heaven!

First of all, you and your family will like staying here. You won't regret it in any way. The hotel is clean, the weather is superb, the sea like blue crystal BUT, it could do with a few small improvements. IMO opinion this is a very good 3* and you should be aware of the location too as it could play a part in your holiday. The Galaxy BW at its highest is 3 stories so it's not intrusive or overbearing and the whole place is fastidiously cleaned by an incredibly hard working team. There's genuine pride in it from the rooms all the way down to the beach. The location of the hotel is ok, it's a 10 minute drive from the airport but you are not really aware of airport noise and it's quite nice seeing planes coming in over the sea. The hotel is one of quite a few hotels, shops and bars along the beach. The hotel next door is more of a younger persons hotel so you can hear house music blaring out all day and of course being music, respects no boundaries. If I could make one suggestion to the Galaxy beach pool bar team, look up Chill playlists on Spotify and delete the Europop heavy beats. It would suit the hotel better. Music at night at the Galaxy is pretty good with live music from various different artists every night and they are really entertaining. If you are paying for All Inclusive, you should really be aware of what it gets you. Starting in the restaurant; fruit juice is not fruit juice (actually I'm not sure the hotel stocks any real fruit juice) because it's a syrup mixer dispensed at a push dispenser and the mixture is WAY too strong. You end up watering it down whilst missing real fruit. Same at the pool bar. The local Cola substitute is ok but that's the best it can be called. The coffee from the pool bar machine is awful. The beer is nice enough. The included wine would go well on chips but not as a drink. The local alcohol is decent enough but if you ask for one of the 10 or so cocktails available, they mix it with the aforementioned "juice" or mixers. It's a gamble..... This often and possibly deliberately leads you to want to buy the real thing which you can do of course, at €2.50 for a small can. You also then will end up having to buy a hand made coffee if you really want one. We read reviews before we came about the food being lukewarm or not so good, this is not true. The food is not piping hot but it's a buffet and does not detract from the quality. The food has been great with a wide variety and lots of it too. Every day the buffet offering changes slightly and if it comes from the charcoal grill, it will be amazing. The staff that clear your plates and tidy are lovely. You don't need to wear trousers and shirts in the evening. Laganas needs a clean. It needs bins and some pride restoring but it's not bad. It has a party town reputation but we saw none of that from our hotel. In the morning the streets were quiet. There's just a lot of litter. The pool. It's quite small but then this is not a big hotel. Naturally it's well kept and clean in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The hotel has a no towels at Dawn O'Clock on the sun loungers rule which people ignore and the hotel lets them. Hotel Galaxy BW, please remove towels deposited at 6:00am on beds that are not occupied until 10:00am. You say this is the rule. If you want a lounger on the beach next to the incredibly warm Ionian Sea waters, it will cost you €25 per person at the front, €20 at the back. I think it's worth it as you get an umbrella and great views and a 2 metre walk (literally) to the water. Our bed was a bit too firm but big and changed daily by the lovely cleaners. Finally the hotel staff are all helpful, responsive, go beyond and will make your stay NEARLY perfect.... I'd go again
