Best Beaches in Kemer

he Kemer nightlife offering is compact and centralised, yet it still manages to impress and you will be able to find everything from quiet, romantic dinner locations to throbbing all night bars. Most bars are closely packed together along the beachfront promenade and in the centre of Kemer making ‘bar hopping’ easy and enjoyable.

A particular favourite of ours is Deniz Caddesi street with standout locations such as Kapris, Leon and Captain Pirate offering food, drink and, if you want to try it, shisha. For something chilled and romantic try Dakapo Beach Club on Moonlight Beach where you can sip cocktails while sitting on a comfy rattan sofa watching the moon’s rays bounce off the tranquil water. Our final recommendation is a little more upbeat; Club Inferno can hold up to 3000 guests who mingle amongst its many bars, listening to quality DJ sets until the early hours.

Kemer adequately caters for all culinary tastes and has a truly international selection of quality cuisine from traditional Turkish classics to family favourites such as steak, pasta and pizza.

Indulge your taste buds with fresh, locally sourced produce straight from the nearby mountains, fields and seas. There are numerous restaurants in and around Kemer, so to help, we’ve picked out a few of our favourites. For dinner with spectacular mountain views, we recommend heading to the three-storey, steepletop Kemer Tower Café & Bistro or if gazing out to sea ‘floats your boat’, then it's The Harbour Restaurant where you can enjoy local fish dishes as you watch the sun descending over the multitude of gently bobbing yacht masts.

Finally, it's worth seeking out Sibel’s Four Seasons café and Restaurant. Though a little out of the way, it’s well worth the journey. The restaurant is set next to the owner’s farm, where you can grab a seat under the spreading walnut trees and enjoy the freshest of products served in fantastic, authentic Turkish dishes.

Shopping opportunities in and around Kemer are abundant and varied, catering for all tastes and budgets. Mona Lisa Mall is on the popular and busy shopping destination street Ataturk Boulevard, where you can find and buy almost any conceivable product, but is perhaps best known for real fur coats, exquisite hand-crafted jewellery and fine hand-woven carpets. Prices can be high but so is the quality. Close by is Ottimo with a similar vibe but more focussed on leather and gold. If it's budget prices you want, then head to the Kemer suburbs and seek out the Migros Mall, a bustling collection of knock-down clothing and electronic products; just be aware you get what you pay for. Another tourist favourite is Outlet Kemer where Turkish and European brands are sold at great prices and is renowned for high quality but fake designer products.

Kemer Watersports

Diving in Kemer

Kemer is widely recognised as one of the best diving locations in Turkey and is great for all abilities. Aquarium Bay is popular with beginners. Reached by sea from Kemer Yacht Harbour, it is sheltered by steep cliffs and has a fine pebble beach making it a great place to learn or practise diving skills. The immediate seas house a diverse array of marine life, creating a vibrant and captivating natural environment—an ideal introduction to this engaging hobby. For more seasoned enthusiasts, numerous nearby spots offer exploration opportunities. The Lighthouse Tunnel features multiple tunnel complexes and caves to discover. There are also historical wrecks within easy reach, such as the 1917 Paris II fishing boat, the 2001 Georgian ship Pati that sank while transporting illegal immigrants, and the ancient 13th-century Gelidonya. Finally, we must give a mention to the Three Islands diving complex where you can explore reefs teeming with colourful fish in controlled, well-managed diving excursions.

Surfing in Kemer

Kemer usually has calm Mediterranean waters, so it's not known for surfing. If you're looking for a surf experience, check out Damlatas Beach or Keykubat Beach in Alanya.

Windsurfing & kitesurfing in Kemer

Kemer is a popular windsurfing spot. The calm, flat seas coupled with strong and consistent winds make for a great windsurfing experience. There are several schools in the area, either offering lessons with experienced and qualified instructors and cater to all windsurfing abilities or renting equipment. A short distance from Kemer Marina, one of the most popular locations is Moonlight Beach which has ideal windsurfing conditions. Beldibi Beach is another well-known spot thanks to its consistent wind with views of the Taurus mountains.

Sailing in Kemer

Kemer and the surrounding resort area provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy a sailing or boat excursion along this magnificent and historic coastline. Catamarans, yachts and numerous types of boats offer trips to suit all tastes and budgets and are an ideal way to escape the hustle and bustle of Kemer resort. Picture yourself gently floating past beaches, cliffs and caves, sipping on cocktails and enjoying fine food. What could be a better addition to your holiday itinerary? Particular favourites of ours are family day trips to the ancient city of Phaselis, where you can swim in the cooling waters or take time to explore the ruins. The crew provides lots of fun, with knowledgeable, English-speaking guides on hand to describe the sites. For a fun-filled day we recommend that you book one of the pirate-themed ships, dedicated to fun. Music and alcohol play a prominent part of this journey back to a swashbuckling past; just don’t expect a genuinely historical re-enactment.

Fishing in Kemer

Several daily fishing excursions run from Kemer Harbour and the surrounding bays. While most may seem too 'tame' for serious anglers, those interested in trying out this engaging sport will find the experiences on offer quite satisfying. Typically, these trips begin with hotel pickup and transportation to the boat. Onboard, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic crew awaits to provide all the assistance you need. The price includes the rental of all angling equipment, as well as food and refreshments, which may involve on-board barbecuing of any edible fish you are fortunate enough to catch. If you've ever fancied challenging the oceans, we wholeheartedly recommend considering a relaxing and enjoyable fishing trip as part of your Kemer holiday plans.

Canoeing & kayaking in Kemer

Kemer has only a few places where you can go canoeing. Some beaches have limited access to equipment so you can enjoy some sea kayaking, or alternatively head to Goynuk Canyon. This is a family orientated activity centre based around the cold canyon waters and impressive mountainous terrain. Here you can join others on a guided canoe trip up the canyon with its impressive views of waterfalls and forested mountains. All required equipment and instruction are provided making sure that you have an exhilarating but safe experience.

Kemer Land Activities

Golf in Kemer

Kemer has plenty of quality golf courses within easy reach, all offering first class experiences and golf to suit every level, so we’ve picked a few of our top recommendations. Designed by renowned English golf course architects, Hawtree, the Cullinan Links Club is based on European themes, but with fairways running next to the Mediterranean and the Taurus Mountains in the background, there will be no doubt that you are playing golf in Turkey. In complete contrast, the National Golf Club is set in landscaped gardens and winds its way through lush pine and eucalyptus forests, as does the wonderful Kaya Eagles Club in Belek. Finally, check out Antalya Golf Club. Not only is the course stunning, but as you play, you can catch glimpses of some of the ancient ruins that dominate the region.

Cycling & mountain biking in Kemer

The areas around Kemer are great for cycling with good roads, challenging climbs and outstanding views. Cycling is a perfect way to discover the delights of this part of Turkey at a leisurely and guilt free pace. With the stunning Olympos National Park right on the doorstep, Kemer is the perfect base from which to start your two-wheeled adventures. Cycling is possible all year round but the Kemer area is particularly popular in the cooler months when many hotels remain open with very reasonable packages on offer. Turkey encourages cycling, with trail and route maps being available for free from most tourist information offices.

Walking & hiking in Kemer

The area around Kemer is filled with stunning landscapes, beautiful beaches, mountains, lakes, canyons and national parks, making it an ideal place to enjoy walking and hiking. Walk around the ancient city of Termessos at the foot of Mount Solymos to follow in the footsteps of Alexander the Great or follow the route taken by ancient traders along the 560 km Lycian Way. Close to Kemer is the Goynuk Canyon, where impressive natural surroundings bordering a wild river and waterfalls provide an exhilarating walking experience or make a day of it and catch the cable car up to the top of Mount Olympus before taking the downhill trail directly into Kemer.
