Top beaches in Faliraki
Faliraki beach
Faliraki beach, one of the resort's most popular, lies at the heart of the area. The beach consists of a long stretch of sand with a few pebbles. The sea is calm, shallow and warm, ideal for families. Visitors can hire sun loungers and parasols or simply lay out their beach towels. After relaxing and sunbathing, the main pastime is water sports, with a water sports centre located on the beach. Traditional tavernas and quality restaurants offer lunches for beach lovers.
Ladiko Beach
Just off Anthony Quinn Bay lies the beautiful little gem of Ladiko Beach. Once a major trading centre for the export of olive oil, it takes its name from the pottery containers used to ship this lucrative cargo. Today, the area is a bustling tourist destination, particularly popular with boat trips, which stop here to allow their passengers to bathe in the clear waters. Many people also choose to spend the day on the beach, with numerous caves to explore on foot or from the sea with a short swim.
Anthony Quinn Bay
Anthony Quinn Bay, a lively and popular spot near Faliraki, takes its name from the actor who loved to film here, attracting many visitors. Despite its small expanse of pebbles, the bay exudes its own charm and remains largely unspoilt. Strange rock formations dot the area and the crystal-clear waters teem with marine life, making it an excellent spot for snorkelling. Adjacent to the bay, Ladiko beach offers deeper waters and is home to a scuba diving centre.
Traganou Beach
For a unique beach experience, venture just outside the resort of Faliraki to Traganou beach. This small pebble beach is renowned for the caves it shelters along the beach and surrounding coastline. The caves are ideal for exploring, with some accessible directly from the beach with a little paddling, while others require a little swimming. The waters in and around the caves offer a refreshing change from other beaches, thanks to the shade they provide. Traganou has few facilities and no cafés or restaurants on the beach itself, so it is advisable to bring your own food and drink.
