Kavos has superb sandy beaches to relax and enjoy the sun or a refreshing swim in the calm waters surrounding the area. In the heart of the resort, a relatively small strip of sand is well served by all the usual facilities and activities, while nearby are several undeveloped beaches reached by dirt paths or, in one particular case, a flight of stone steps. These hidden gems are a joy and offer peace and tranquillity, but facilities can be meagre, so make sure you're self-sufficient for the day.
Sitting at the heart of the resort, Kavos beach is small but perfectly formed. This quiet, relaxing stretch of sand is the perfect place to spend the day relaxing and is easily accessible from the complex. Sun loungers are available for hire, but are limited in number. We therefore recommend arriving early if you intend to spend the day sunbathing and swimming in the calm, clear waters. Although the beach itself is much smaller and less well-equipped than neighbouring beaches, its location within the resort more than makes up for this, with plenty of bars, cafés and restaurants.
If you want something different from the typical resort beach experience, head to Nissaki beach. This small but authentic stretch of sand offers a different way to spend the day and has a charm all of its own. Sheltered by a rocky shoreline, the calm, shallow waters are clean and safe and ideal for young children. Nearby, several restaurants offer local Greek specialities and delicacies, perfect for a midday snack before settling down to continue doing nothing. Perfect.
Loggas beach is one of the best places on the island to watch the sunset. This majestic beach is just a short distance from the seaside resort of Kavos. Situated in the north-west of Corfu, this thin strip of sand lies at the foot of impressive rock faces. Access is via stone steps and the views are truly spectacular. Facilities are limited, so don't forget to bring towels, sun cream, etc., as you won't want to be walking back and forth along the cliffs. The beach isn't too busy during the day, but it does become more popular in the evening as people flock to watch the sun sink over the horizon.
Set in a breathtaking mountain landscape, Agios Gordios beach is a true coastal paradise. Framed by a landscape of perfect hills, Agios Gordios is one of Corfu's most popular beaches. Set in a bay, the beach is protected from the winds, meaning its waters are calm, clear and safe. Served by a range of facilities, including restaurants and bars, it's a great place to soak up the Ionian sun or splash around in the bluest sea. We highly recommend adding a visit to Agios Gordios to your holiday wish list.
Named by British workers in the 1990s, who were building some of the facilities at the Kavos resort at the time, Secret Beach, or Arkoudilas Beach, was so named because it had limited road access. The name stuck. This charming beach has now become a firm favourite with connoisseurs. Today, the road to Secret Beach has improved and it's easy to get there by small car or motorbike. Of course, walking there is an option and will take you around 25 minutes from Kavos. If you make the effort, you'll be rewarded with a visit to one of the best beaches in the area, which remains largely unspoilt and uncrowded.
