Amazing Hotel

Copal was Amazing!!!!!! It was an unparalleled experience. We stayed in a room with a rooftop and private pool. I loved it because the sun shone directly on us and the panoramic view was incredible. Two delicious restaurants had a variety on their menu (I would recommend the tacos de azada). Ivy, our personal concierge, also made everything run smoothly with her recommendations for beach clubs, tours, and restaurants outside the hotel. I would definitely return! Special greetings to: Claudio, Johnny, and Victor.

Jungle paradise

Lovely boutique style hotel, very relaxing ambience and AC comfortable room. Our room would have benefited from a full length mirror and dressing table in the bedroom as bathroom mirror was dark and not ideal for getting ready. Tv didn’t play any tv or radio or link to phone. The hotel was such a quiet calming environment that it was very noticeable when some guests were louder than others, perhaps for guests to be mindful. Beautiful greenery throughout, and burn copal, but bring insect repellant too. Small black cats throughout added to the jungle theme, they were like tiny panthers! Also street dogs on the hotel perimeter, we found all to be friendly - we even visited a local dog shelter. Food and drink offer excellent. However not great value for money more like beach prices rather than hotel/town prices. I think the cost should be reduced for staying guests to encourage repeat custom - guests would but more food and drink if cost reduced, for example 200-300 pesos for plastic cup of wine by pool, so around £10 GBP is far too high in my opinion. The sushi restaurant was a treat! 10min taxi to beach (600 peso each way). 10min walk to town although through some undeveloped area so feels safer to bike or taxi (300 peso each way). Taxis expensive. Bikes were good value. Overall 4 stars ! Like nowhere I have stayed before, and I loved Tulum !!

Copal hotel was an amazing experience. All staff were very professional and helpful! Felt comfortable the entire stay. Food and drinks were delicious. Room service was a bonus. Hotel room had AC and cleaning service everyday. Would recommend this stay to anyone!

We loved our stay!

On our visit we decided to stay in Tulum that is about 2 hours’ drive depending on traffic, as we did not want a beach hotel and all-inclusive, we booked the Copal Hotel. We were not quite sure what to expect and as usual before we made the booking, we checked the reviews on Tripadvisor, that gives you a good indicator what you can expect. We arrived at midnight all was dark, so we could not see a lot, our room was of good size, nice and clean, the only comment to make that I was not able to watch some news on the smart TV, even using the browser. After a good night sleep, we made our way to the restaurant along a small path surrounded by native tropical plants that felt like being in the jungle, we passed a small swimming pool that was embedded in this beautiful natural environment. The semi open restaurant Opal gastro & bar that was quaint and fitted so well into this relaxing setting, including a few tables next to the pool. During our stay we had some lovely food in this restaurant and the staff were most helpful and friendly. The place never felt crowded a real gem to chill out. One person that stud out during our stay was Ivy at the reception, she was always friendly, a fountain of knowledge in regards of the area and nothing was too much for her. A true ambassador for the Opal Hotel. To summarize our visit, we had a wonderful stay at Copal and thank you to all the wonderful staff. We will be back.
