Cooks Club Kolymbia is hands down one of the best places I have ever been on holiday. I have never relaxed like it. It is evident that they have considered every single detail. ROOMS: We arrived in the early hours and were greeted by friendly reception staff. Due to the early hour, we were chaperoned to our door and the lovely man got us set up comfortably and asked us if we needed anything before leaving us to get some rest. We were situated right next to the main bar and pool which was lovely when wanting to pop out for a few evening drinks. The music from the bar was loud when wanting to sleep, but a very minor problem for such a lovely experience overall. The rooms are beyond clean, and the cleaning staff are very attentive. They would even fold my pyjamas (that I had put under the pillow each morning) and place them neatly on the pillow for me each day, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch. The room has additional blankets available and a lockable netting cover for the door to prevent bugs from entering, should you wish to sleep with the door open or have it open throughout the day. They provide toothbrush kits, soaps, and small beauty items such as cosmetic pads, cotton buds and shower caps. AMENITIES: You receive a beach towel card and you exchange this each day for a fresh towel. They are clean and soft and it saves you having to dry out your own towel at the end of each day. There are toilets nearby to the second pool, which was helpful. You can order drinks and food to your sunbed throughout the day and the staff regularly pop by to clean up and take away any glasses and rubbish. SCENERY: The hotel is located amongst the mountains of Rhodes and the view is breath-taking. You can see the goats climbing up and down the mountain during the day, and there are little lizards that run amongst the edges of the pool. It was so cute. There are nearby beaches to visit, which were equally relaxing and beautiful. It's a short walk away and we spent much of our holiday here too. STAFF: This was the biggest reason we enjoyed the hotel. The staff are second-to-none. Truly they cannot do enough to make you feel valued, welcome and comfortable. They are friendly, considerate and extremely hard working. The same staff that would be greeting us for breakfast, would chaperone us to our evening meal table with the same enthusiasm and care. The staff even began to remember us and I had frequent compliments for my starfish necklace and the dresses I would wear. I have never experienced this in any hotel/holiday ever and it made all the difference to our days. They would talk to us about our day and take an interest in where we had travelled from, what life is like for us at home. They are just lovely people and made our stay even better. We felt that our responsibilities had been alleviated from us and were truly relaxed. FOOD: The food was divine. We opted for the half-board stay and it was perfect. We were full all day from the breakfast as there is literally every kind of breakfast option available. You can have a freshly made omelette every morning if you wish, and there are fresh fruits, all forms of cereals, all kinds of yoghurt, pastries, sweet treats, hot foods, breads, meats and cheeses. You can have any drink you like, including iced coffees and you are welcome to have as many as you like too. For dinner, there is a set course for each day and the quality and presentation was 5 star. It looked phenomenal and tasted unbelievable. If ever there were options you did not like, they would happily offer an alternative at no cost. You could swich soups for tomato or pumpkin every day, and the main alternative was gyros (which were enormous). The portion sizes are good and we both left feeling absolutely stuffed and satisfied every evening. The drinks are not included with dinner, and they can be rather costly when you're having them throughout the day. However, they are delicious and if you're wanting a cheaper alternative there is a pathway within the hotel that leads directly to a local shop where you can buy spirits and beer. NEARBY ACTIVITIES: There is so much to do nearby. Such as, snorkelling, trips to Faliraki, Lindos etc. There are regular, cheap busses between all of these areas and this made it super easy for us to pop out in the day. They do get busy but it's worth it for all the beautiful scenery. The boat trip we went on was one of the best experiences I ever had in my life! OVERALL: This hotel is absolutely a 5 star hotel, down to every detail. It was very reasonably priced for the time we went and service received. It was the perfect break and I miss it every day. I would return every year if I could. If you're thinking about booking, just do yourself the favour and go for it. Thank you, Cooks Club, for the most amazing time away. We will see you again one day!
