Very Disappointing Stay – Well Below 4-Star Standards, Misleading Advertisement We are currently at this hotel, and unfortunately, it fell far short of the expectations set by its 4-star rating and the advertisement we saw before booking. Having traveled extensively and stayed in everything from budget hostels to luxury resorts across the globe, we can confidently say that this property does not meet the standards typically associated with a 4-star hotel, either in Turkey or elsewhere. WiFi Issues & Hidden Charges The first issue we encountered was with the WiFi. Unlike most hotels that provide complimentary WiFi in common areas, here, WiFi is payable, and there’s no free guest access in the lobby, which is incredibly disappointing for a hotel of this supposed caliber. To make matters worse, we spoke to another dissatisfied client who after paying for the wifi service, were told the payment had failed and were asked to pay again yet money had left their account. This left a bad taste from the start, customer service witnessed was terrible. Reliable internet access is a basic expectation nowadays, especially at a 4-star property. Room Cleanliness & Condition The room itself was a major letdown. It was not only dated but also unclean, which was quite shocking, especially in Turkey, where hospitality and cleanliness are generally high priorities. The balcony door handle was practically falling off, and the main door was barely secured, held together by a single screw on the hinge. We found debris on the sheets when we arrived, making us question whether they had been changed at all. The fridge was in an equally poor state, with a solid block of ice in the icebox and a disgusting yellow film covering the interior. The bathroom was similarly neglected, with a heavily stained toilet seat that clearly hadn’t seen bleach in a very long time. These issues are simply unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 4-star. Misleading “All-Inclusive” Package The “all-inclusive” offering was another significant disappointment. We were led to believe this would include a wide range of drinks, but in reality, it was quite limited. The only soft drinks available were carbonated cola and lemonade, and the alcohol selection was sparse—local beer, wine, and vodka were the only options. If you enjoy a variety of cocktails or spirits, be prepared to be disappointed, as vodka is the only spirit offered. This might cater to the hotel’s predominantly Russian and Baltic clientele, but it certainly doesn’t reflect the diverse offerings you’d expect from an all-inclusive package at a 4-star resort. To top it off, if you arrive after midnight, you won’t be able to get any drinks at all, until the morning, which is highly inconvenient. Service Shortcomings We brought our concerns to the reception, particularly regarding the state of the room, but, like many other reviews have mentioned, we were simply told “we’re full,” with no attempt to rectify the situation or offer alternatives. The staff were less than polite, and it was clear that guest satisfaction was not a priority. Even the hotel “rep,” who claimed to work for our enjoyment, ignored our concerns and offered no solutions. It’s disheartening to feel dismissed, especially when the issues we raised were valid and raised in a calm, polite manner. Basic customer service was severely lacking, and from day one we were in constant contact with our booking agents who offered nothing to assist despite having photographic and video evidence of the issues. Facilities & Common Areas The common areas, while functional, also left much to be desired. The pool and proximity to the beach was one of the few highlights—it was decent, but not enough to redeem the overall experience. The beach was equipped with enough sun loungers, but the boardwalk was a tripping hazard falling to bits, and we witnessed numerous guests stumbling over it. The tables in the communal dining areas often went uncleared for long periods, the clean crockery littered with dirty dishes and plates and drinks were served in tiny plastic cups, barely holding 150ml and very very flimsy. Additionally, the hot drink dispenser was frequently out of order, making it difficult to even enjoy a coffee, milk and butter for bread “finished” as we were told. Neglect & Lack of Attention to Detail One of the most frustrating aspects of this stay was the complete lack of attention to detail throughout the hotel. Small, easy-to-fix issues were constantly ignored, and the overall neglect was hard to overlook. For example, the shower in our room was rusted, with a shower head that looked more suited for a laboratory than a hotel room. After three days of enduring these conditions, we found ourselves booking multiple visits to Turkish baths just to avoid using the hotel shower, which says a lot about the state of the facilities. Basic maintenance and cleanliness were clearly not a priority. Potential Wasted It’s a shame because this hotel has the potential to be much better. The grounds themselves are well-kept, with clean and pleasant outdoor spaces, and with some much-needed TLC, it could be a great property. However, as it stands, the hotel feels run-down, neglected, and grossly overrated. It’s hard to believe this is classified as a 4-star hotel, and we genuinely wonder who is responsible for that rating. The facilities and services don’t come close to what you would expect from a 4-star hotel in Turkey, let alone compared to other international destinations. This is a 2 star at the very best. Final Thoughts We’ve traveled to many countries where a 2-star hotel would cover the basics better than this resort did with its supposed 4-star rating. In other places we’ve stayed, while it’s possible to pick out minor faults, 4-star hotels have always prided themselves on customer satisfaction. A little good customer service can go a long way in forgiving faults, but this was severely lacking here. The food, while plentiful, was highly repetitive, and it was clear that the staff were nearing the end of what must have been a very busy and exhausting season. That being said, as paying guests, we shouldn’t have to bear the burden of these issues. If the hotel is struggling to provide the service expected of a 4-star resort, then perhaps closing early to allow staff to recoup and complete necessary renovations would be a better option. Otherwise, the hotel needs to start delivering the 4-star service and amenities it advertises. When booking a holiday, especially at a higher-rated resort, it’s a major decision, whether you’re a seasoned traveler or it’s your first trip. This hotel clearly misrepresents itself, and we were left feeling as though we had booked into a completely different place than the one advertised. The photographs and descriptions are vastly over-sold, and whoever wrote them has certainly used some poetic license and enthusiastic language to describe the facilities. That said, if you’re in good company and spend your time getting out and about, immersing yourself in the culture and visiting nearby towns, you’ll still enjoy your time, just not necessarily at the resort you pay good money for based on the advertisement. After all, the company is what matters most to us—but we’ll definitely be avoiding this resort in the future. Absolutely not worth the money.
