Not 4 star! Good location, set up and facilities so there is a lot of potential but not really 4 star that we're used to as Brits in 2024. Spacious room and comfy bed, nice bathroom and the complimentary water was much appreciated. The hotel grounds need majorly modernising to match the lovely looking reception. Nice to have the option of three pools. There was works going on in the children's pool during our stay which surprised us as we were there end of November which is sunny season so surely non-peak time would be better? Breakfast was okay but the coffee was inedible (an I'm no coffee connoisseur I love a Nescafe instant!!) and the pancakes were as dry as a bone. There was some stagnant water by the breakfast area which wasn't nice. The staff were often on their phones throughout the hotel which was disappointing to see. On our trip we stayed in 2 x 4*, 1 x 4.5* other than the Centara Kata and this was sadly the worst of them all :( .

Terrible and dirty

Unfortunately, my experience did not meet the expectations set by your establishment’s 4-star rating. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a less than welcoming atmosphere, as the staff did not appear friendly or attentive. We also found our room to be in an unacceptable condition. Dust was prevalent throughout, and the overall cleanliness was concerning. In particular, we noticed cats urinating in the plant pots outside, which added to our discomfort. The floors appeared to have been washed poorly, and it was clear that the room had not been adequately maintained. Furthermore, we encountered significant noise disturbances during our stay, as we could hear everything happening outside our room. The location of the hotel is not ideal for families, given that it takes approximately 15 minutes to walk along the road to the beach with children in tow. Breakfast was another disappointment; the food did not meet acceptable standards, particularly the eggs that appeared to have been left out for an extended period. Additionally, we observed plates left outside rooms for days, further contributing to a lack of cleanliness throughout the property. Our kettle’s lead did not even reach the plug, making it practically unusable. Given our experience, we opted to spend as little time at the hotel as possible during our five-day stay. Unfortunately, I would not recommend your hotel to others, as I believe it more accurately resembles a 2-3 star establishment rather than the advertised 4-star experience.

GOOD HOTEL BUT EXPENSIVE

The hotel is fine with 3 swimming pools. Rooms are a fair size. However, the downside to the hotel is that it adds 10% sevice charge, plus a 7% tax charge on all food and drinks. When you go into the town, which is a 3-5 minute walk, and only pay 3% if you pay via credit card.
