We had 5 nights here 18th to 23rd November. Great hotel, wonderful staff, location great too. We found the staff at Castival extremely helpful and though we were only there 5 nights, there was plenty to do. There are certain areas of the hotel that need a bit of TLC where water has come through, but overall the standard was great with a very impressive reception area. The staff were abundant and always busy. There was excellent evening entertainment, and the animation team were always full of energy. Patisserie Cafe was superb with plenty of choice. The Spa was excellent. We both had the full Turkish Hamman plus full body massages which were just fantastic. The barber/hairdresser was great, BUT ask for the price before you start, my husbands bill was big and its cash only (so I had to go to withdraw extra cash to pay), though we can't fault the treatment and be mindful that any little extra's such as conditioner for a cut and blow dry are all charged at 10 euros for each one, which I though was excessive, but it was our fault for not checking first. The bar was fantastic as well as the cocktails. We didn't know there was a beach assigned to the hotel and wish this had been pointed out to us when we booked in as we would have tried it out. The restaurant food was okay, you could always find something to eat but we found it quite bland. It would have been nice to have had a small section of spicier dishes as options too. I am judging this against our previous visit to Side at another hotel whose food was excellent with different flavours of the world, so maybe we were spoilt for choice there. The one exception was the lady who made the fresh crepes at breakfast time, they were superb!! We couldn't try the A La carte as we only stayed for 5 nights not 7. When I asked if we could pay for it for my husbands birthday, There were no available spaces and it stopped that night. Specific staff members we would like to mention are Ferrat, and Hagi waiters in the restaurant, Mehmet in the bar, the lady making crepes and Oskur animation (apologies if incorrect spellings). Overall a great stay.
