The Big South Regatta has been a tradition since 1967, it celebrates the nation’s first royal visit from Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip in 1966. Soft white sands combined with gleaming aquamarine waters make Grace Bay Beach a truly memorable place for a holiday in May. Located in Grace Bay, Providenciales, the beach is surrounded by luxury resorts, restaurants and bars. Various beach bars can also be found across the stretch. There’s plenty to do here; gently glide high over the ocean and take in the best views of Grace Bay with a parasailing tour. Then, set sail on a sunset cruise for the perfect end to your day.
Situated on the western end of Grace Bay, the Bight Reef is a popular and easily accessible snorkelling location. If you’ve never snorkelled before, this would be a great place to start as this reef is a very short distance from the shore. From green turtles to queen angel fish, these waters are home to a colourful variety of marine life.
The weather in May is hot, with average highs of 30°C and lows of 25°C. Chances of rainfall increase slightly in comparison to previous months but remain low. The winds are usually calm and provide a pleasant breeze. The ocean temperature is a warm 27°C, providing perfect conditions for snorkelling and diving.
