Every year on Boxing Day Providenciales hosts Maskanoo, a vibrant festival made up of masquerade elements and traditional Junkanoo. You can expect an electric atmosphere, great food and entertainment all night long. This event has something for everyone, from face painting for the kids to live performances from local bands and DJs later in the evening. A huge variety of stalls selling food, drink and gifts are woven throughout Grace Bay Road. In the evening, a dynamic parade is led down Grace Bay Road through to the Regent Village and Salt Mills Plaza, flooding the streets with cheer. Grab your handmade mask and join in the fun to keep the festive spirit going!
The Seven Stars Resort in Providenciales hosts a brilliant Christmas tree-lighting ceremony every year. Be sure to check it out and revel in festive cheer on a lovely warm evening.
Grace Bay Beach is without a doubt the best location to spend New Year’s Eve in the Turks & Caicos. An array of magnificent fireworks light up the deep onyx sky, making the ocean ripples glimmer. If you'd rather not be around crowds, plenty of resorts in the area host their own fireworks displays. Beach bonfires are also ablaze throughout the night, Flamingo Café (more often known as Ricky’s) usually has the largest around!
December marks the end of hurricane season, so chances of rainfall are very low. The weather is nice and warm, with temperatures reaching average highs of 27°C and lows of 24°C. Ocean temperatures sit at a comfortable 27°C.
